Chapter 1315 - 1315: Why Hasn't He Been Eliminated Yet?

After the first four were eliminated, Venerable Juqiu from the Celestial Pill Department miraculously landed in the top position.

By common logic, this should have caused a sensation.

But at this moment, no one was paying attention, and it wasn't because everyone was deliberately ignoring the Celestial Pill Department.

It's just that after experiencing four such scenes, everyone had become mentally fatigued.

In their view, Juqiu's first place in the Celestial Pill Department was definitely temporary.

It won't take more than a few dozen seconds for Venerable Juqiu to be eliminated as well.

Even the senior officials like Tian Lin and Taiheng Beihe from the Celestial Pill Department didn't immediately celebrate.

Because they also felt that Juqiu would soon follow in the footsteps of the previous four.

The more intense the celebration now, the louder the slap in the face will be after he's eliminated.

At this time, Jiang Cheng in the Jade River finally saw Venerable Juqiu.

Upon seeing him, Venerable Juqiu immediately exclaimed.

"Elder Jiang!"

As a fifth-grade Immortal Official of the Celestial Pill Department, he certainly knows Brother Cheng, and is quite familiar with him.

He hurried over, a joyful expression overflowing on his face.

"Why have you come?"

"And how did you suddenly appear here?"

As a participant in the competition, he was unaware of the situation outside.

He didn't know that all his previous opponents had already been eliminated, and he didn't even know his current ranking.

"Outside, everyone is mocking us for being powerless."

Brother Cheng shrugged: "If I didn't come now, the Celestial Pill Department's prestige would be completely lost."

Although he felt no sense of belonging to the Celestial Palace, as the Chief of the Celestial Pill Department, such a situation would obviously damage his prestige and couldn't be allowed to happen.

"Hey, I'm sorry to disappoint Elder Jiang..."

Upon hearing this, Venerable Juqiu could only scratch his head and show an awkward yet polite smile.

"I've really tried my best, but there's nothing I can do."

Facing the Chief's reprimand, he could only find some reason to defenses himself.

"Venerable Luo Yun from the Nine Revolutions Pill Sect is too monstrous, able to suppress several generations of Pill Masters. No matter who faces her, they can only be stepped on!"

"Also, Venerable Du Feng from the Purple Nether Palace who has been a True Disciple for five hundred billion years, aren't they being unreasonable?"

Brother Cheng crossed his arms, his expression a mix of smiling and disdainful.

"You're saying you don't fear anyone else besides those two?"

Venerable Juqiu nodded heavily.

"Of course, the others are not worth mentioning!"

Brother Cheng leisurely said: "I've heard there's a Venerable Song Li in the Huiyuan Hall..."

Before he finished, Venerable Juqiu proudly pounded his chest: "Although he's a Sixth-grade Emperor Alchemist, his attainments are not as high as mine and he's no threat!"

"Venerable Xu Xing from the Yuanjing Family..."

"They're worthless, can't withstand a blow!"

Listening to his confident statements, Brother Cheng was speechless.

"But actually, they've all surpassed you."

"Ah?"

Venerable Juqiu's expression immediately became awkward.

"How... how did this happen?"

Then he could only chuckle awkwardly: "Uh, winning and losing are common in battle, I will avenge myself next time..."

"Alright, alright!"

Brother Cheng thought to himself, his mentality is really quite good, being able to instantly perk up no matter the situation and automatically encourage himself.

It's a kind of talent, really.

Though next time is billions of years later, who knows where he will be by then.

"No need to wait for next time, keep swimming upward, you're currently first, don't overturn after this."

"Oh, huh?"

Even with Venerable Juqiu's optimistic mindset, he was baffled.

I'm first now?

How is that possible?

"Didn't you just say they've all surpassed me?"

Brother Cheng calmly said: "They did surpass you, but it's unfortunate they ran into me, so there's no one ahead of you now."

"Huh?"

Hearing this, Venerable Juqiu looked stunned, nearly unable to digest the information.

"You mean, you eliminated them one by one?"

"What else?"

This...

There's actually this kind of operation?

Venerable Juqiu was extremely shocked, twisting his mouth and skimming his eyes.

"So I really am the number one now?"

"Uh-huh."

"But... isn't this cheating?"

Brother Cheng had been waiting for him to throw a look of admiration and gratitude his way.

Unexpectedly, he got such a response, and that made him quite angry.

"What's wrong, do you have a moral cleanse?"

"Are only those who have been True Disciples for billions of years in Artifact Talisman Arrays allowed to cheat, but we're not allowed to clean the river?"

"Furthermore, even if we cheat, ensuring the Celestial Pill Department's prestige is enough!"

"Now that all the top competitors are cleared out, if you still don't get the final top spot, I'm asking only of you..."

Under Brother Cheng's stern lecture, Venerable Juqiu could only humbly nod, expressing he would no longer have any extra thoughts and would use all his strength to defend the Celestial Pill Department's prestige and... Elder Jiang's dignity.

Only then did Brother Cheng contently nod his head.

Watching Venerable Juqiu's motivated distant figure, he showed a satisfied smile.

Beside him, Three-Eyed Tiger emerged.

"Bro, why do I feel that kid is rather dumb and inflexible, is he capable?"

Brother Cheng thought to himself, Juqiu is just a bit too upright in character, but not necessarily dumb, right?

Comparing to you, a shameless scoundrel, he surely seems dumb.

He touched his chin and pondered for a moment.

Just eliminating the few people ahead of Juqiu might not be safe enough.

"How about this, to prevent overturning, let's help him clear away a few hidden competitors behind as well."

"Sure thing!"

Three-Eyed Tiger had been waiting for this instruction.

The further he goes down the list, the lower the competitors' combat power, and he could easily crush them.

He loved defeating others effortlessly.

"Don't accidentally harm the other Immortal Officials of the Celestial Pill Department." Brother Cheng didn't forget to remind him.

"Don't worry, Bro, I've been at the Celestial Pill Department for so many years, I know them all!"

As the two continued to dive further, people outside were still debating how to determine the rankings.

Arguing back and forth, no solution could be agreed upon.

Gradually, everyone started to notice something puzzling.

"How come Venerable Juqiu of the Celestial Pill Department hasn't been eliminated?"

"Strange, how is he still rising?"

"What's going on?"

"It's been so long, he should have been eliminated by now, right?"

Everyone simultaneously turned their gaze back to the Jade River hanging high in the sky, showing puzzled expressions.

Even the senior Immortal Officials like Tian Lin, Taiheng, Liuyuan, and Jin Pi from the Celestial Pill Department were baffled.

Wasn't it agreed that the Jade River has anomalies, with a super-strong 'dummy' over ten thousand combat power clearing the field?

Wasn't it believed that Venerable Juqiu would be next?

Even Venerable Luo Yun couldn't withstand that 'dummy's' attack, certainly Venerable Juqiu couldn't either.

Why hasn't he been eliminated?

"He probably hasn't swum into that dummy's attack range yet?" someone speculated.

This speculation immediately gained everyone's approval.

"Right, to encounter that super strong dummy, one must swim to a certain height first."

"Juqiu must not have reached that dangerous position yet!"
