Chapter 1806: Chapter 2: The Grand Finale (Part 2), Co-Ruling Emperor
As long as there are living beings in the real universe, they are immortal.
Gu Hang has also reached a similar level, but he is part deity propped up by the human race, and part deity of the concepts of technology, development, and creation from the ’Creator.’ Although he is at the same level, he is not as stable as those four ancient evil gods.
Any being that can survive in this universe cannot do without struggle, slaughter, and courage; cannot do without desire and reproduction; cannot do without life and decay; cannot do without wisdom and change...
As long as these exist, the Four Gods will endure.
And the concept of ’creation,’ while indispensable, is not nearly as foundational and irreplaceable as the concepts represented by the Four Gods.
But no matter what, Gu Hang has reached this level.
With two ’gods,’ humanity is no longer just a pawn. Or rather, even if it is a pawn, it now has its own player.
This is the significance of Gu Hang’s deification.
...
Regaining his thoughts, the time had come.
With a slight movement of his mind, the grand hall doors silently, solemnly slid open to both sides. The crowd, who had been waiting for some time outside the hall in strict formation, entered this hall, the heart of the highest human authority, with pious reverence.
Leading them were Lionheart King Leon Charlie and Regent King Robert.
The eyes of these two Sons of God held a certain complexity at this moment.
The presence before them was a comrade who stood by their side to defeat the incarnation of the Evil God, a Commander who jointly restored human territories, and more so, a being who devoured the Chaos God deep within Subspace and ascended to the highest position.
Honestly, in their hearts, The Emperor was The Emperor. Is there someone else to ascend the throne?
That was absurd!
But what could they do?
Tens of thousands of years ago, they had done something equally absurd themselves.
In what was called the Second Empire, Charlie was Warchief, Robert was Regent King, and their other brother was the Emperor.
But upon learning that Holy Terra had not fallen and the Human Empire still existed, they quickly abandoned the so-called Second Empire and returned to their positions.
And now, Gu Hang was more qualified than any of them back then to become the new Emperor of the Empire.
In this respect, no matter how uncomfortable they felt, they could not object.
After all, this was agreed upon and even fully supported by The Emperor.
And if Charlie felt somewhat uncomfortable but had to swallow it, then Robert had a bit more in mind. This Primarch, known for his statecraft, wore a solemn expression mixed with genuine sentiment and an imperceptible sense of relief.
Composing themselves, the two highest-ranked Sons of God, who walked out of myth, first knelt on one knee, paying homage with the most exalted gesture of the ancient legion, their voices low and powerful as they said:
"Your Majesty, the armies are assembled, and the Empire awaits your command."
"Your Majesty, the loyalty and hopes of the Empire’s territories and billions of citizens converge here."
Behind them were the leading governor of the Alliance, the Great Sages of the Mechanic Cult Alliance, the new pontiff and the cardinal archbishops, the army commanders, and the navy commanders.
Simultaneously, they were also the star sector governors from various important star domains, members of the High Lord Council, and the highest leaders from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Military Affairs Department, Legal Department, and other core institutions of the Empire...
Almost all the rulers and leaders of significance to the New Human Empire in the real universe were gathered here at this moment.
All of them bowed deeply, showing utmost deference, and the air was filled with a nearly tangible awe.
Gu Hang’s power was beyond measurement by worldly authority.
Their gaze focused on the figure at the end of the steps, clad in a simple, yet seemingly star-laden robe, their emotions intertwined with complexity, excitement, admiration, and a vow of allegiance...
"My fellows," Gu Hang’s voice resounded, branding itself clearly into everyone’s consciousness, "stand."
Everyone stood upright in unison, their gaze growing more fervent as it fixed on Gu Hang.
Gu Hang stepped forward, descending from the high platform.
The crowd silently parted to create a path leading to the Eternal Avenue outside the hall.
Passing by Leon, the Lion King nodded slightly; passing by Robert, the Regent King bowed again.
Gu Hang’s gaze calmly swept over every familiar and unfamiliar face, as if it could perceive the deepest parts of their souls’ truest loyalties and hopes.
A faint nod, a wordless acknowledgment, already ignited overwhelming waves in the crowd.
Amidst all the people, Gu Hang stepped out of the grand hall.
His view expanded dramatically.
The perfect simulation of light on Terra’s dome poured down, illuminating the wide avenue paved with ancient stone slabs in glorious splendor. On both sides of the avenue stood towering statues engraved with the epic of humanity’s millennia and the majestic buildings of the Terra Imperial Palace.
Yet, the most awe-inspiring sight was the steel tide on the avenue, lined up and ready, extending to the horizon!
Amidst the sound of drums and bells, the parade began.
Like walls forged of gold, the Imperial Guard and the Yulin Army alongside in blue and silver, symbolizing the Alliance’s colors, formed the most solid and loyal guards.
The elite forces from different lineages and legions gathered here. The deep blue of the Infinite Warriors, the pure white with gold trim of the Saint’s bloodline, the red and gold feathers of the Phoenix, the Phoenix Legion, the Bat Corps, the Death Angel, and the Blood Angels... each color scheme intersected like a flowing, splendid galaxy of steel and faith. They held up the banners of their respective legions, the merit badges on their power armor shining brilliantly.
