Chapter 1238: Chapter 1100: A New Dimension

Qu Jianlei nodded, this guy indeed formed externally and then entered the Soul Nourishing Wood, later being installed into the robot.

"Should I take you out of the machine now, and use the Spirit Gathering Array to nourish you later?"

Jelly seemed to hesitate before replying, "I meant the Spirit Gathering Array, which is spiritual Qi, not that low-grade stuff used by the Awakened ones."

"Of course it’s the Spirit Gathering Array," Qu Jianlei raised his fingertips, releasing a trace of spiritual Qi, "Is it this?"

"Wow, are you really a cultivator?" Jelly shivered intensely, visibly excited.

"After all these years, it’s the first time I’ve seen another cultivator again!"

"How rare," Qu Jianlei rolled his eyes, "If I weren’t a cultivator, it’d hardly be possible to have this kind of telepathic communication with you."

He could have some spirit communication with Paranoids and others, but that was very simple and couldn’t express anything in detail.

Thanks to his mastery of the Divine Sense Skill, he could communicate in detail with Golden Crow Bing.

In his view, within the Awakened System, only those above the Supreme might be able to communicate like this, and even then, it’s just possible.

Moreover, this guy seemed too peculiar; whether they would be willing to take risks was also uncertain.

However, Jelly raised objections to his statement, "Actually... I can communicate with them!"

Meaning, if this guy is willing, he can completely initiate communication with the Awakened ones.

Of course, the likelihood of the Awakened ones being able to respond similarly is low, but that’s not an issue, they can use their words, can’t they?

Qu Jianlei nodded thoughtfully, "You just don’t think much of them?"

"The dimension of the cultivation system is too low," Jelly replied without hesitation, showing inner disdain.

"If you hadn’t threatened me, I wouldn’t bother communicating with you!"

Seems like a little roughness still works! Qu Jianlei felt his guess was indeed correct, this guy was really adept at exploiting advantageous situations!

Then, he thought of another question, "Can cultivators communicate through divine sense during the Mortal Ascension Stage?"

If such a technique existed, once he learned it, the A-level members of his team would no longer worry about secret communication.

"Of course they can," Jelly replied dismissively, "Flying and telepathic communication are basic abilities at the Mortal Ascension Stage."

Indeed, many legacies are missing! Qu Jianlei sighed lightly, the systemic deficiency is difficult to fully replenish by himself.

In his eyes, Golden Crow Bing’s value suddenly increased significantly, "Do you have the related skills?"

"Isn’t that basic operation?" Jelly seemed slightly confused, "I could use it instinctively, where’s the need for any skills?"

What the hell... Qu Jianlei felt a strong urge to swear; did I cultivate a fake immortal?

Although the opponent seemed somewhat simple-minded, he was still confident that through ample communication, he could analyze the mysteries of divine sense communication.

But this matter wasn’t urgent at the moment, "When I take out the wooden plaque where you reside, are there any taboos?"

"This..." Jelly twisted again, "Since you’re a cultivator, we’re like comrades, aren’t we?"

Qu Jianlei blinked, then nodded, "You could think of it that way, though it’s not fully the case yet."

What Jelly was more concerned about was whether the other party would actually eliminate him. After hesitating, it timidly expressed.

"Could I first experience the Spirit Gathering Array?"

It wasn’t an unreasonable request either. Holding the robot, Qu Jianlei took a stroll around the Spirit Gathering Array.

Seeing him emerge from the room, the Nutrient Injection approached again, "Need any help?"

Obviously, they weren’t just thinking of helping but were curious about what the other was doing.

Qu Jianlei waved his hand, "Something important to handle, I’ll let you know once it’s sorted."

Back in the room, Jelly proactively asked, "Why do these people feel... like they’ve crossed cultivation systems?"

"Yes," Qu Jianlei replied casually, yet didn’t offer much explanation.

"How could this be?" Jelly became unexpectedly agitated, "The cultivation system shouldn’t be mixed with them!"

Why get so worked up? Qu Jianlei felt puzzled, "You don’t know, the Awakened borrowed from the cultivation system?"

"Far from it," Golden Crow Bing replied without hesitation, "The Awakened’s upper limit is just the Golden Core!"

You’re aware of this too? Qu Jianlei was curious, "Then the specific situation... care to elaborate?"

"I’m not particularly familiar with the specifics," Jelly responded, "Cultivators didn’t want them to master subsequent cultivation techniques."

"Didn’t want..." Qu Jianlei vaguely realized, seems like the Awakened System was intentionally watered down by cultivators?

"Is it because they worry about them competing with cultivators for resources once they grow stronger?"

Jelly replied without thinking, "Competing for resources? They’re far too inferior, though... it’s possible."

Qu Jianlei asked again, "Do you know that some legacies of the cultivation system have been transmitted to the Awakened through stone scrolls?"

Jelly read the corresponding information from his thoughts and expressed surprise, "Obsidian... really transmitted?"

This stone called Obsidian? Qu Jianlei increasingly felt Golden Crow Bing’s potential was immense, worth excavating.

Jelly remained silent for a while, then stated, "Utterly disgraceful... violates cultivators’ consensus."

"But the most profound legacies shouldn’t be transmitted, the Awakened’s minds would explode!"

Qu Jianlei listened, feeling like this guy might not be as immature as he initially thought.

"What I currently can confirm is that this legacy was left by a Ghost Cultivator. I killed the Ghost Cultivator, but I’m not sure if the legacy has ended."

"The cultivation technique of Ghost Cultivators is different from that of regular cultivators; indeed, some of them have erratic temperaments."

He explained, but Jelly seemed confused, "Ghost Cultivator... what’s that?"

Is this guy truly clueless or just pretending? Qu Jianlei was a bit puzzled.

"Forget it, let’s not dwell on what’s already happened. Have you ever seen Awakened individuals trying every way to enhance their system?"

Jelly was silent for a while before answering, "Not really sure, I don’t really pay attention to that stuff."

"They try very hard to upgrade," Qu Jianlei told him, "so it’s only a matter of time before they figure out how to form a Nascent Soul."

Jelly responded, "I’m not concerned about that. People’s desires are endless, but why help them?"

Qu Jianlei shook his head with a smile, "Helping them... I’m actually helping myself too."

Jelly was silent for a moment before replying, "I’m not concerned about that either..."

"However, it’s a common understanding among cultivators not to casually disclose legacies to the natives of this dimension!"

Qu Jianlei’s heart skipped a beat upon hearing this: does that mean there’s a cultivator dimension?

But he really couldn’t ask that question; Jelly obviously thought he was a cultivator.

If they found out he wasn’t, getting any other information from them would be much harder.

So he just smiled, "I never had any inherent legacy anyway, and the existing cultivation techniques are all self-derived."

This was not an excuse, as he indeed knew quite a bit about the Daoist Sect, but the cultivation methods were pieced together through exploration.

Jelly naturally replied, "Then it doesn’t matter, since people’s desires have no end... I was just giving you a heads up."

What’s the deal with this guy? Qu Jianlei rubbed his chin, uncertain of Jelly’s true intentions.

In the future, it’s probably best to be on guard to some extent; thinking about this made him a bit uneasy.

Why can others so smoothly take on little followers, and yet I have to be so cautious with an Artifact Spirit?

But on the bright side, the other party doesn’t mind communicating with him, and indeed seems to have some useful information.

"Then I’ll remove the wooden plaque now... no problem, right?"

Jelly asked, "Why must it be removed? If you do that, I won’t be able to move!"

Earlier, it was worried about being annihilated and didn’t dare to question, but now it could speak up.

"I have my eye on this robot," Qu Jianlei didn’t conceal his thoughts, "I want to use it as my avatar!"

Jelly fell silent until it felt he was about to act, then questioned again.

"If you have an avatar, what about me? Can you imagine the feeling of being a patient lying immobile in a hospital bed?"

This accusation was sharp, but Qu Jianlei just smiled dismissively.

"In the past, you could move, but besides exploring the planets, what else did you do? You don’t seem to be interested in anything."

Jelly paused before responding, "I truly am not interested, but being able to move and being unable to move... feels different."

"I can only apologize then," Qu Jianlei expressed without hesitation.

"Although you can move, it lacks much practical significance; as my avatar, it can do more."

"You didn’t even bother to modify the machine’s appearance, which shows... you were indeed just a laborer!"

His words were quite unkind but not without a hint of probing, wanting to explore Jelly’s true thoughts.

However, Jelly’s focus was entirely unrelated to his attitude.

It expressed joyfully, "Modify the appearance? That’s a good thing, will I be able to come back in the future?"

The style of this dialogue is a bit chaotic... Qu Jianlei indeed struggled to follow Jelly’s train of thought.

"Coming back... it’s not impossible, but it might take some time."

When he reaches the Soul Departure stage, avatars will become obsolete; it’s just... that will indeed take quite a while.

Yet Jelly expressed joyfully, "That’s great, can you change the power source? I hope it’s a Spirit Stone."

"You’re overthinking this!" Qu Jianlei firmly refused, "In this world, I haven’t even encountered Spirit Stones much yet!"

"Even your original master didn’t design Spirit Stones as a power source, know why?"

Jelly was silent, then after a long pause, sighed, "Local sourcing costs are a lot lower."

"That settles it, doesn’t it?" Qu Jianlei quietly exhaled; Jelly’s disdain for Energy Blocks seemed to not stem from prejudice.

In that case, it’s much easier, "Do you feel the Energy Block’s efficiency isn’t high enough?"

"Yes," Jelly stated without hesitation, "an external Energy Box is ugly as sin."

That’s its flying state; when on the ground, sometimes it even has to drag a long cable!

"I’ve considered that," Qu Jianlei promptly replied, "planning to use Exotic Beast Crystals as a replacement."
