Chapter 366: Chapter 364: Magic Flow Silkworm Room
Duane built a wooden cabin in the Secret Realm for the Black Soil Purification Magic Array, then moved the Array Base here.
This way, they no longer needed to transport the Black Soil back to the Territory for conversion. Instead, they could convert it directly on-site, saving a step in the process.
During the twenty-odd-day voyage back from the Starfall Islands, Duane’s strength had improved slightly.
His Skill Level in the Starlight Meditation Skill reached Mastery, which in turn expanded the volume of his Void Space again, now reaching fifty cubic meters.
Using the Void Space, he could transport enough Filthy Blood Spiritual Soil back to his Territory in one go to cover more than four thousand acres of fields.
The current bottleneck had shifted from a transportation problem to an excessively slow conversion rate.
If the Black Soil Purification Magic Array was like a machine, having only one naturally limited the output of Spiritual Soil.
If Duane wanted more Spiritual Soil, he needed more Magic Arrays.
However, the Mithril he had on hand was very limited; at most, he could only construct two more.
But now that the Starlight Mulberry Trees had been successfully cultivated, raising the Nebula Silkworms also had to be put on the agenda.
Therefore, he needed to reserve some Mithril to set up a Silkworm Room with a steady Magic Flow.
So, he could only have Heck, Mackenzie, and the others try to purchase some from the Scorching Wind Territory and Duke Star Sea, while simultaneously contacting Count Kais to request resource support.
Besides these two avenues, it was difficult for him to buy Mithril from other members of the Nobility.
On one hand, nobles with whom he had a good relationship, like Viscount Charlemagne and Viscount Raul, didn’t have any Mithril.
On the other hand, major nobles like Marquis Sean, Duke Kelvin, and even the Royal Family had already secretly closed off their channels for selling him scarce resources.
These great nobles did not want Duane to obtain resources like Mithril and Meteorite Iron, which would strengthen him.
In truth, Duane wasn’t the only one in a difficult position. Count Kais’s situation wasn’t much better.
The reason the Kennedy Magic Research Institute could still provide these items was that most of it was from their inventory; only a small portion was secretly purchased through private connections.
After all, neither of their territories had a Secret Realm that produced rare metal ores.
However, Count Kais was generous enough. After hearing about the Spiritual Soil, he joined the collaboration and provided enough Mithril to build three Black Soil Purification Magic Arrays.
With four Magic Arrays operating simultaneously, the output of Spiritual Soil increased dramatically, enough to fertilize all the early rice paddies.
During this time, Duane also began to set up the Silkworm Room with a steady Magic Flow.
This Silkworm Room required him to inscribe an Energy Stable Output Array on a Mithril base plate, then use Jade Demon Vine Stem Lines to guide and diffuse the energy throughout the entire space.
At the same time, he needed to place multiple Magic Energy Focusing Rune Nodes around the Silkworm Room.
The function of these focusing runes was to confine any overflowing energy within the Silkworm Room, preventing it from dissipating outwards, while still allowing the Heaven and Earth Elements from the outside to enter.
In such an environment, silkworms that consumed Starlight Mulberry Leaves would mutate into Nebula Silkworms, and the silk they spun would possess magical properties.
Duane planned to use the remaining Mithril to set up two Silkworm Rooms, and then use the bones of beasts hunted in the Secret Realm to carve the Magic Energy Focusing Rune Nodes.
This Magic Array was more difficult to create than the Black Soil Purification Array, with the main difficulties concentrated in two areas.
First, the Magic Array’s pattern was quite complex.
Even with Duane’s great strength and excellent control over his carving force, he couldn’t avoid making mistakes.
Fortunately, it was only an error in inscribing the Array pattern and not an energy backlash, so the Mithril could be melted down and reforged without being completely ruined.
Second, using the Jade Demon Vine Stem Lines to wire the entire room and connect the Rune Nodes was an extremely tedious task.
Duane called Natalia over to help, and it took them a full seven days of work to get it set up.
As a Basic Water Soul Ore was embedded into the Array’s energy core, the Magic Array on the floor emitted a brilliant, azure glow.
At the same time, energy spread across the floor with extreme speed along the stem lines, then filled the entire room.
The Rune Nodes connected by the stem lines swayed gently, emitting a faint light that confined the energy within the longhouse.
Natalia closed her eyes and entered a state of perception.
Her Water Element Affinity was Upper Level, so she could clearly feel the Water Element energy here gradually growing denser.
"Duane, I feel like this room can not only raise silkworms, but Mages as well," she said.
"Cultivating through Meditation in this kind of environment will not only speed up the rate of Refining Magic Power, but one’s strength will also increase faster through long-term accumulation."
Duane activated his Starlight Eye and could clearly see the concentration of Water Elements in the space.
It seemed the Array was also communicating with the Magic Net of Heaven and Earth, as a significant amount of Water Elements from the outside were flowing in, reinforcing the energy concentration inside.
"Once the silkworms spin their cocoons and the longhouse is empty, you can come here to cultivate."
Duane said, "When I have more Mithril in the future, I’ll set up a dedicated cultivation room for you."
A look of joy appeared on Natalia’s face. "This way, I should be able to become a Level 5 Mage ahead of schedule."
An idea suddenly struck her, and she asked, "Do you think this Silkworm Room would also be useful for Celestial Tier Warriors?"
Natalia analyzed, "The advantage of an Elemental Secret Realm is its abundance of a certain type of Elemental Energy. When a Celestial Tier Warrior is compatible with that element, they can more efficiently guide the Heaven and Earth Elements into their body for tempering, increasing the speed and likelihood of breaking through to the Shooting Star Level."
"My family lacks appeal when it comes to attracting promising Warriors precisely because we don’t have an Elemental Secret Realm."
"We’re on the same page!" Duane said with a smile.
He had considered this very issue when he first obtained the Silkworm Room with Magic Flow.
"Judging by the current state of the room, this place is essentially an Elemental Secret Realm. It can help Mages cultivate, and it can also help Celestial Tier Warriors with Elemental Body Tempering."
Receiving an affirmative answer, Natalia was even more astonished. "Doesn’t that mean you can mass-produce Elemental Secret Realms?"
Duane nodded. "Not only can I create them, but I can also change the type of Elemental Energy in the Secret Realm depending on the energy source I embed."
He had embedded a Water Element Ore now, making this place suitable for Mages and Warriors with a Water Attribute affinity to cultivate.
If he were to switch it with a Fire Element Ore, then it would be suitable for those with a Fire Attribute affinity.
The only drawback was probably that the Energy Stable Output Array limited the output of Elemental Energy, meaning the concentration here couldn’t support multiple people cultivating at the same time.
After all, the original purpose of this ability was to raise silkworms; assisting Extraordinaries in their cultivation was just an added bonus.
Duane didn’t know if he could modify the Energy Stable Output Array to increase its output frequency, like Louis could.
Natalia sighed in admiration from the side. "This ability of yours is enough to make anyone green with envy. If I weren’t your wife, I would absolutely find a way to get my hands on it!"
Who wouldn’t want to step into the Star Realm?
Who wouldn’t want a few more Shooting Star Level followers under their command?
For something like this, probably all the Nobility would be tempted.
When the time comes, they’ll buy it from Duane if they can, and if they can’t, they’ll take it by force.
If one person can’t take it, they’ll band together to do so.
"So, it must be kept secret!" she reminded him.
Duane naturally knew this as well.
He looked at the Magic Array Map on the ground and said thoughtfully, "I’ll use the Hardening Technique to bury the Array’s runes underground to hide it. As for the Nebula Silkworms, we’ll just announce publicly that it’s the effect of them eating the Starlight Mulberry Leaves."
Natalia nodded slightly and suggested, "If you let people in to cultivate, it’s best they are trustworthy individuals, and you’ll need to come up with an excuse."
After her reminder, Duane felt that he could consider finding a place within the Secret Realm to set up a Cultivation Room.
That way, even if outsiders found out, they would only assume it was a natural Elemental Secret Realm, not something that Duane had created.
