Chapter 955: Chapter 61: Murder and Ancestral Shrine Destruction
"Are the combat robots produced by this Stellar Factory all brainless muscle heads? The Purple Giant Star is ferocious, yet this General Cybertron is not to be outdone."
Staring into the distance at the Mechanical Satellite, ’Little Collector No. 0019’ murmured to himself.
"But the Purple Giant Star belongs to the direct bloodline of the Ancient Mechanical Elder. From the moment it was born, it was implanted with a ’Red Giant Star’ intensity Perpetual Motion Machine, capable of stellar lifespan-level repairs and stellar intensity combat, so what does this General Cybertron rely on to single-handedly contend with a group of military-grade servers?"
As the Xie Family’s employer, ’Little Collector No. 0019’ had long seen through the essence of the Xie Family. So-called pure mechanical families and high-orbit industrial clans were mere facades; their true identity was a military-grade server with the ’Xie Family Ancestral Hall’ at its core.
And coincidentally, Gao Gong’s current identity is also a server, and even a planet-level server, ranked above military-grade servers.
However, the Cyber Test Field had long since been dismantled. Even if it hadn’t, the name of General Cybertron might not carry weight in this region dozens of light years away.
...
As Gao Gong stepped out of the spaceship, he was like a meteor streaking across the sky, heading straight for the control hub of the Mechanical Satellite, the Xie Family Ancestral Hall.
Such an action naturally triggered the satellite’s defense system into a spontaneous counterattack, with dozens of Armed Space Stations surrounding the satellite simultaneously targeting Gao Gong, sounding the red alarm.
Yet the next moment, a higher-level authority took over these Armed Space Stations. The railguns protruding from their steel exteriors were retracted back inside.
For a time, Gao Gong penetrated three layers consecutively — from satellite-level orbit, into the artificial atmosphere, and finally into the surface defense system — without facing any attacks, traveling at speeds dozens of times the speed of sound. He was less than ten minutes away from the Xie Family Ancestral Hall, its shape visible to the naked eye.
Four giant iron pillars reached up to the sky, with eaves bristling with satellite-level signal receivers. From the outer gates to the wing rooms on both sides, and finally inside the hall, it was filled with finger-thick pipes that danced like a swarm of serpents as Gao Gong entered, accentuating the eerie atmosphere inside.
"This kind of fiber-optic and particle diversion dual-control system; the Xie Family truly longs for the Mother City," Gao Gong laughed heartily, his eyes turning emerald green, and his body covered with a dense structure of microbial ’spores’ across over twenty thousand pores.
From inside the hall stepped out a middle-aged man, his face deathly pale as he looked at Gao Gong without any change in expression, having no surprise at all.
Xie Daowen remarked coldly, "The Xie Family didn’t betray the Mother City; it was the Mother City that betrayed the Xie Family."
As soon as the words left his lips, Gao Gong’s body plummeted, like a meteor crashing down from a hundred thousand meters in the sky, hitting the ground with an explosive noise, leaving behind a giant pit.
However, the upheaval was not over yet. The ground where the pit was located slowly swelled, revealing a ring-shaped structure densely packed with traction arrays. This giant ring was vast enough to rival a city in size, larger even than a large starship, and as this enormous entity rose from the ground, numerous weapon systems activated, with countless beams of light illuminating around the giant pit.
This was an Interstellar Fortress.
Or rather, the true form of the Xie Family Second Elder.
From outer space, the surface of the Mechanical Satellite would appear to raise up a small patch the size of a fingernail.
"Heh, heh heh."
At the center of the giant pit, layer upon layer of vortices emerged from the steel, with a wall of flesh rising from each trench, layering the core of the giant pit tightly.
The effects of some S-Level superpowers are pathetically weak, while others are terrifyingly strong.
The S-Level ’Energy Absorption’ belongs to the latter category, and even on a more powerful and intense interstellar battlefield, it has not been phased out, because small energy weapons with over fifty thousand damage are still a rarity.
Yet Gao Gong’s body found it difficult to move, enveloped by the enemy’s powerful magnetic field skill, which gave him the feeling of having entered the Earth Core.
’Ten thousand-fold, no, at least a hundred thousand times the gravitational magnetic field, so this is a control-type Interstellar Fortress.’
In his lifetime, Gao Gong had only ever seen one Star Castle, which belonged to the Xie Family Great Elder Xie Egui who tried to steal a wife, but that wasn’t a control-type Star Castle; it was a standard combat model.
In interstellar war, combat-type Interstellar Fortresses are far more destructive than control-types, but when the opponent of an Interstellar Fortress becomes a single person, the effects are reversed.
Because with the super computing systems of an Interstellar Fortress, AOE skills can be compressed insanely, and if this technique, which spans several hundred kilometers, was concentrated on a single person, the gravitational pressure would be so intense that a normal Tier 3 Carbon-Based Powerhouse might be crushed to death at first sight.
Gao Gong too felt immense pressure, yet within him roared as if a vast ocean, with the Tier 4 Bloodline ’Sea of Life’ allowing bodily organs to be reverted and restored; under such a level of gravity, what would otherwise be the greatest threat was virtually useless to him.
To challenge an Interstellar Fortress single-handedly, the minimum requirement would be a Tier 3 Top-level Carbon-Based Powerhouse, but Gao Gong was an exception. Not only could he withstand such pressure, he even had the time to open the System Panel.
’Beep beep——’
[You have triggered an annihilation mission, Kill and Destroy the Shrine]
Difficulty: Tier 3 - Difficult
Mission Brief: From the perspective of Carbon-Based Creatures - Bipedal Species, nothing has greater intensity than the hatred of wife-stealing, and to destroy their ancestral graves and annihilate their ancestral shrine is a standard web novel protagonist behavior; achieve this, and you can be considered accomplished.
Mission Objective: Destroy the Xie Family Ancestral Hall, disrupt its ’Ancestral Hall Server Code’.
Mission Reward: Experience +100 million, Tier 3 Mechanical Puzzle *5, three random treasures from the Xie Family Ancestral Hall
Mission Note: Best to provoke families named Xie; those named Xiao or Ye, perhaps avoid.
The system likes reading web novels? This was indeed one of Gao’s few hobbies before crossing over, second only to studying the art of the human body.
Gao Gong quickly switched from the panel, as the outside energy beams seemed to have vanished, replaced by an invisible storm, slicing through the ’meat membrane,’ breaking the ’physical defense’ covering the meat blanket, digesting layer upon layer of it.
’Huh? Domain?’
Neither ’Physical Absorption’ nor ’Energy Absorption’ are absolute; for instance, attacks that break through the five million limit can overcome such absolute defense.
Yet there is another method, as shown by the present domain, creating a massive energy storm that entirely envelops the threshold of the move, preventing it from absorbing anything, achieving destruction from another angle.
Gao Gong cast a long glance at the steel behemoth outside the meat wall, a trace of a mocking smile at the corner of his mouth. At some point, his lower body had transformed into a root-like shape, with thick tree roots piercing into the steel exterior of the Interstellar Fortress, extending inward, and among them, three roots burrowing deepest suddenly opened their mouths, expelling three fist-sized spores.
