Star Wars: Daimon's Story
Chapter 207: The Galactic Federation
2 Months later
The war against the Killiks has now evolved into a galactic war. Every inch of the galaxy was being invaded by the Killiks with some placed completely falling to the Killiks. The Imperium has managed to halt the Killiks on their end, only losing a dozen or so worlds in the conflict.
The Republic was obviously weakened from their war with the Sith that they were losing planets faster than they could hold them. This was mainly due to war fatigue and the fact that the Imperium stopped sending reinforcements.
Part of this was because of the amount of Killiks that could pop up at any time, so every sector had to have a sizable defense force to stop the Killiks. For offense, Warmaster Raelos had utilized the Starforge to mass produce Billions of war droids and threw them at the frontlines to thin out the Killiks numbers.
Instead of losing millions of people, he opted to throw machines at the problem which worked. But then, the Killiks adapted, and they started using their own droids in conjunction with their already massive numbers.
So, this briefly stopped the Imperium’s offensive and forced them to consolidate numbers and reposition troops. This also allowed the Killiks to focus on other regions of the galaxy. They heavily targeted the Republic and started their invasion of the Sith’s territory as well.
There were some incursions against the Varraxian Technocracy as well, but they were fended off with the help of the Ascendants who were still in the region conducting the final stages of the pacification of the Ssi-ruu. Their pacification would involve their entire space faring abilities getting destroyed and then being restricted to their planet for the next thousand years.
This will be enforced by the Imperium, and any violations will result in permanent occupation of the planet. Of course, there will still be garrisons on the surface of the planet to monitor them, but that will be all.
Daimon saw what the Killiks were doing and had decided to form a Federation. He didn’t call it anything fancy or anything and just settled on the Galactic Federation.
The Republic immediately signed on, followed by the Mandalorians who were now under Daimon, the Varraxian’s, the Kingdom of Ryloth despite the civil war that was going on right now, the Kaminoans and then hundreds of independent worlds who weren’t affiliated with anybody.
In just a week, the entire galaxy had come together under the leadership of the Veldari Imperium to combat the Killiks.
Daimon paused his war against the Sith as all that remained was the attack on Korriban itself and had decided to host the first meeting of the Galactic Federation on Tython. Unlike before when Tython was hidden from star charts and isolated, it was now a Fortress world of the Balance Keepers.
Essentially, it was the perfect place to hold the meeting.
Daimon had arrived a few days before the meeting to get everything planned. As the days passed, thousands of politicians, delegates, and other notable people had arrived on Tython. Many were surprised that the Imperium had a massive building already constructed for their meeting which contained a large meeting room and rooms for everybody.
The security for the event was the Balance Keeper Honor Guard. Similar to the Jedi Order’s Temple Guards, the Balance Keeper’s Honor Guard were the guardians of all the buildings that the Balance Keepers owned. They were elite guards who trained their whole lives in order to defend the Balance Keepers buildings should they come under attack.
In their entire service, they have stopped hundreds of thousands of rogue Balance Keepers who either couldn’t learn balance or who went rogue. They’ve also stopped terrorist bombings and have been deployed to various planets to perform ceremonial duties.
Seeing these fearless guards who looked like statues put many of the Federation members at ease that nothing bad was going to happen during these meetings. Many were already scared to travel, afraid that the Killiks would pop up out of nowhere to ambush them and cripple their leadership. But the Imperium allowed them to use nearby Dimensional Gates, making the trip much safer.
For the Imperium, besides Daimon, several high-ranking nobles and other officials were present to mingle with the others. Daimon couldn’t do it on his own, and he trusted his nobles to represent him and the Imperium.
After about 10 days, Daimon finally started the official first meeting for the Galactic Federation. All of the delegates, politicians, and others sat down and talked among each other, getting to know their future allies. There was no language barrier as each of them were given a universal language translation device which allowed two people to communicate in an entirely different language but still understand each other.
The entire room was designed to seat tens of thousands of people in a circular room with the podium being in the middle, so everybody could see the person that was speaking.
After a few minutes had arrived, two Balance Keeper Honor Guards had walked side by side through the door that was connected with the podium. The Honor Guards walked out and then stepped to the side in a very crisp manner.
"Now announcing the arrival of his majesty Emperor Daimon." announced one of the Honor Guards as Daimon walked through the door and the into a wave of applause from the gathered delegates.
He slowly walked to the podium waving his hand until he reached the podium. From there everybody got quiet and he began the first meeting.
"First, I am glad that everybody made it safe amid the galactic war that we all currently face. As you all know, the Killiks are waging a galactic war under the leadership of the individual known as Aruun. He has not appeared since he put my son in a coma, but I assure you that the Imperium is searching for him and as soon as we find him, I will deal with him myself." Started Daimon. He wanted to reassure everybody that the person behind this attack would be dealt with directly by him. Most knew his strength and almost all feared it, except for a few who thought it was nothing, but stories fabricated to spread fear.
"Now, this is the first official meeting of the Galactic Federation, and with that we will all be discussing the organization of the Federation, its military command structure, the pooling of fleets and industrial output, the chain of authority that would bind every member world to a single strategic purpose, and the terms under which each power would retain its sovereignty before and after the war. Those expecting a council of equals will also leave understanding that I have not convened this meeting to debate whether the war would be won, only how quickly and at what cost." Daimon paused and let the silence hold for a moment while he observed the faces of the delegates present.
"The Galactic Federation will not be a republic," he continued. "It will not be an empire in the sense that the Sith understand the word, nor a loose alliance that dissolves once a member decides its own borders matter more than the survival of the rest. It will be a war council with the power to act. Every fleet, every shipyard, Force-sensitive institution, and every industrial world that signs the charter will place its military assets under a unified command for the duration of the conflict. That command will consist of generals from every member state but will be overseen by Imperium officials to ensure that there is fair representation and no one is taking advantage of another. Those who cannot accept that condition may leave now. The doors remain open, but the Killiks will not care which side of them you stand on." No one rose from their seats as they could imagine the consequences of refusing protection from a galactic threat.
"Excellent. Now let’s get on to....." he continued and began outline the structure of the Galactic Federation.
First would be him as Supreme Commander of all Federation military forces, holding final authority over strategy, resource allocation, and the deployment of every combined fleet for the duration of the war. Beneath that office would sit a War Council drawn from each major member state, empowered to carry out operations and advice on the various regions across the galaxy, but they didn’t have the power to override a directive once it had been issued. Industrial coordination would pass through a liaison office established here on Tython, staffed by a mix of administrators from the member states who would establish production quotas and delivery schedules for the entire federation without disrupting local contracts and such.
Force-sensitive institutions, from the Jedi order to independent sects that chose to join, would operate in coordination with one another to prevent factional drift from occurring and to hopefully build relations between them.
There will also be 4 different military commands established to oversee 4 different parts of the galaxy and respond to any threats that pop up.
The logistics department would also be established since organizing such a massive multistate military body like this would require a lot of administrative work and oversight.
At the end of the first convening of the Galactic Federation, all members who attended signed on, and officially became members. The following day was filled with a small celebration party before they left to their respective regions to bring the good news to their people.
Daimon went to the Korriban system and was about to begin the final battle against the Sith where he would kill the Sith Emperor and take control of the Sith.
