SSS Talent: I Can Rewrite Reality

Chapter 47: Dealing with Mrs Forst (II)

  • Next Chapter

All the hard work he had put in up until this point suddenly felt worthwhile.

Mother Rose’s mouth opened and closed several times, but no words came out. The emotions building inside her were simply too overwhelming to express. After everything they had been through, finally having a place they could truly call home felt almost unreal.

Only the corners of her eyes gradually became wet.

Aella’s reaction, however, was much simpler.

"Yay! We finally have a home of our own!"

Her cheerful voice echoed through the garden as she excitedly ran around, looking at every corner of their new home with barely contained excitement.

For some reason, seeing this only made Mrs. Frost’s mood even worse.

Her face twisted with anger as she suddenly stormed toward Jackson and reached for the property deed in his hand.

"This must be fake! How can someone poor like you afford this house? Give the deed back to me!"

Her fingers had barely moved forward when a sharp, crisp sound rang through the surroundings.

Pa!

Mrs. Frost froze.

For a moment, she seemed to have completely forgotten what she had been about to do. She stood there stunned, one hand slowly rising to her cheek.

A bright red handprint had already appeared across her skin, and the area was beginning to swell.

"You! How dare you... how dare you lay a hand on me!"

Her shock quickly turned into rage.

"Do you know who my boyfriend is?!"

Mrs. Frost completely lost control, shrieking hysterically as her voice echoed through the quiet garden.

"Pah!"

Another slap landed across her face.

This one was even more forceful.

Mrs. Frost’s head snapped to the side, and several teeth flew from her mouth as she stumbled backward.

"Utter one more word."

Jackson’s voice was ice-cold.

He was done entertaining this woman.

He had already given her enough chances to leave peacefully, yet she continued pushing her luck. Since she clearly didn’t understand kindness, Jackson no longer felt any need to remain polite.

An animal could only be dealt with using animal methods.

His cold gaze fell upon her.

"Get lost."

Mrs. Frost’s body stiffened.

The fury still burning inside her was obvious, but she no longer dared to say another word. She simply glared at Jackson with hatred, one hand covering her swollen cheek.

Jackson didn’t even bother looking at her again.

The scene works well as a transition from Jackson’s confrontation with Mrs. Frost back into the warmth of his family. I’d mainly strengthen the internal reasoning around the poison so his decision feels cold and deliberate rather than abrupt.

With her entire body trembling, Mrs. Frost finally turned around and began walking away.

"You will regret this..."

Her voice was low, but the threat was unmistakable.

Those words caused a faint trace of killing intent to surface in Jackson’s heart.

He stared at her retreating figure for a moment.

If they were somewhere else, he might have dealt with her immediately. But this was the Golden Radiance District, a place where vigilance was especially strict. Making a reckless move here could easily attract unnecessary attention.

Jackson wasn’t afraid of Mrs. Frost.

What concerned him was everything that could happen afterward.

Still, before Mrs. Frost could walk too far away, Jackson quietly opened her status window.

His eyes remained completely calm as he added a single line of text.

[+ Inflicted with a slowly acting, extremely lethal poison.]

The moment the change took effect, Jackson closed the status window.

Even if Mrs. Frost died ten days from now, no one would suspect him.

Taking such an extreme measure, Jackson didn’t feel even the slightest regret.

He had seen the hatred in her eyes.

That woman wasn’t the type to simply swallow today’s humiliation and move on. If he let her leave like this, there was a good chance she would return someday seeking revenge.

Jackson could deal with her himself.

But what if she didn’t target him?

What if she targeted Mother Rose or Aella instead?

The thought alone was enough to extinguish the tiny hesitation that had appeared in his heart.

He had already learned an important lesson in this world.

Sometimes, leaving an enemy alive simply because you didn’t want to cross a line meant giving them the opportunity to cross that line against you.

With that thought, Jackson no longer paid any attention to Mrs. Frost.

He turned around and walked back toward Mother Rose and Aella.

A moment later, the coldness that had filled his eyes disappeared.

A calm smile returned to his face as he looked at his family standing in their new home.

For them, today wasn’t about Mrs. Frost.

It was about finally having a place they could call home.

The next morning.

After staying up almost the entire night celebrating their new home, both Mother Rose and Aella were still fast asleep.

It was a rare sight.

Mother Rose had always been the first person in the family to wake up early in the morning. Years of struggling to make ends meet had made sleeping in a luxury she could rarely afford.

Perhaps now that they finally had a roof of their own, she could truly relax.

Of course, Jackson wasn’t about to complain about it.

In fact, he felt even more relieved than Mother Rose.

It was as if a great burden that had been weighing on his shoulders for years had finally been lifted. For the first time in a long while, he could think about the future without constantly worrying about where his family would live.

Now, sitting cross-legged inside his room, Jackson stared at his status window with a piercing glint in his eyes.

[Name - Jackson Von Maximus]

[Age - 16]

[Talent - Aura of Slaughter]

[Realm - First Sequence]

[Spiritual Force - 6.7]

[Mana/Physique - 6.9]

After hunting some of the weaker corrupted monsters whose locations were marked on the map he had obtained from Samuel, Jackson’s strength had once again surged.

He was now extremely close to the peak of the First Sequence Realm.

And all of this had happened in only eight days.

Jackson’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He still had more than twenty-two days left.

With that much time remaining, he could push his strength even higher before the deadline arrived.

Perhaps he could even break through to the peak of the First Sequence Realm.

A faint smile appeared on Jackson’s face.

The next twenty-two days would determine just how far he could go.
