Chapter 533 - 533: Cute Destruction

Silva got into the tower. The doors opened on their own for him, and he walked into the top floor. It was made of marble, extremely polished and clean. It had a simple design, but it had no personality at all.

At the center was a massive floating globe of Argon. It was the place where the control of everything could happen.

"Doing this alone doesn't make a lot of sense," Silva muttered. He summoned all his clones as well as Zion.

"Seems this is the control point," one of the clones said.

"Yeah, and all of you are going to help me be the trial master," Silva said and walked to the globe. He tapped at one point of it, and it immediately expanded, showing everything in that location down to the smallest detail.

It was one of the human kingdoms. There were people running up and down in panic as the surge of divine energy filled the air. Some people could not even take it and were collapsing to the ground. Some had even died at this point.

Silva stayed there, looking at the scene. He covered his mouth as if in thought.

"Some people cannot handle divine energy. It's too much for them, especially kids. They might not make it at all," he expressed his concerns about what was happening.

"Yeah, but we have no choice, do we?" one of the clones asked and walked toward the globe as well.

"We do have a choice," another said as he walked toward the windows of the tower. He looked at the world outside.

"We can choose to fight."

Silva and all the other clones looked at him as he spoke.

"Fight who? Order?" one clone asked.

"Yes, him. We can choose to force him into a corner. We are the black dragon, the strongest race, and our strength knows no bounds," the clone said.

"I'm pretty sure my strength has bounds," Silva said. He heaved a deep sigh. "When we faced Ragna and that Abyss monster, I was forced to the edge of my power and strength. I hated that.

I had to use borrowed power from Ophelia. That was the first time ever that I ran out of energy, and it felt terrible," Silva expressed.

All the clones went silent after that. They all knew that it was the truth. Silva had made far too many clones and had burned through his entire energy.

"You know you can make a way to refill your energy, right?" Zion spoke suddenly. He had been floating around in relaxation for a while now.

"How would that be?" Silva asked.

"By finally awakening your circle. Each demigod is capable of sealing one special technique, one law, or whatever into their circles in order to give them more abilities and power.

So, if you do that by the time you are about to have yours, then you can easily bind it with a technique that pulls divine energy into it nonstop."

Silva and all the clones listened to the idea, and they had no choice but to agree that it was a stunning idea and might actually work out pretty well.

But now was not the time for it. He had to focus on simply getting the trials started.

"Let's get back to the trials. Let us play this like a game.

Buildings all over Argon will become the best places for small Abyss rifts, and from them, monsters will come.

Each monster will give points, and only people who manage to get the required points will be capable of getting ahead, and the rest will face death.

Death for the first time will not be real, though, and they can respawn once, and that's all."

Silva watched the globe.

The kingdom was still in chaos. People were running through the streets, clutching their chests and their children, with no idea what was happening to them. The divine energy still hung heavy in the air, and every few seconds, someone else dropped to their knees.

They had all felt that something terrible was coming, but they did not know that the real thing had not even started yet.

And he had to watch it all from above.

Silva clicked his tongue and turned back to the clones.

"We need some kind of guiding system. When the trials start, everyone has to be told what is happening, what they are supposed to do, and how to do it. If they're left to figure it out on their own, a lot of people will die for nothing."

"A system like yours?" one of the clones asked.

"Something like it."

Zion floated forward and rolled over in the air.

"I can build one. It would be similar to the system you have, but a lot more limited. Strictly tied to the program of the trial. It would pass information to every single person, give them a few personal details like points and status, and nothing beyond that."

Silva thought it over. The clones murmured among themselves, weighing it from every angle.

"It's controlled, and it's simple," Silva said finally. "I like it. Do it."

"Already on it," Zion said.

Silva rubbed his chin.

"There's another problem. I'm the trial master, but I can't be everywhere at once. I can't go to every city and every village and explain things to people one by one. We need something closer to them, something that can gather information, give more detailed answers than the system can, and watch over everything as my eyes."

He lifted his arm and pulled up the screen on the wristband.

He scrolled through the menus, past dungeons and towers and monster lists, until he found what he needed. It was a category called avatars, and it had a full customization panel.

He opened it.

'Let me think. What would work best?'

He picked a form. It was a small black dragon, a chibi, with a big, round head, wide eyes, and a tiny body. Little wings sprouted from its back, just big enough to keep it floating in the air.

The clones stared at the model rotating on the screen.

"They're cute," one of them said slowly. "Why are they cute?"

"Because I read something back on Earth," Silva said. "A book where cute characters were the harbingers of death and destruction. It worked better than I expected. Having a cute creature deliver terrible news makes it worse in a psychological way."

He smiled thinly.

"Argon has to survive this. So I'm going to pull out all the stops."
