"Have you heard that the Renswort Dukedom bought a Gem of Solaris?"

"Really?"

"That gem costs a fortune, doesn’t it?"

"I haven’t even seen one in real life!"

Caelan was walking down the street when he heard a group of people talking about it.

"..."

A Gem of Solaris? He squinted his eyes for a moment when he heard that. Just then, a good feeling immediately surfaced in his heart.

Jack must have accomplished the task already.

He casually moved closer to the group while pretending as if the things beside it were interesting. Good thing the group of women continued talking without giving him much attention.

"I heard the Renswort family bought it as a gift."

"For who?"

"How can you not know? For their eldest daughter that has just arrived after recuperating in the mountains!"

"Oh, you mean Lady Renswort?"

"Who else?"

"I heard she’s been sick ever since she was a child. That’s why people rarely see her in the capital." One of the women leaned slightly closer to the others as if she was sharing something secret.

Caelan continued pretending to look at the items displayed beside him, but his ears were completely focused on their conversation now.

"Yeah. That’s why she spends so much time in the mountains. There’s an old temple there that the Renswort family regularly visits. They say the air is better for her health, and she would stay there to rest and pray." Another woman quickly joined in.

"How long was she there this time?"

"Several months, I think."

"That long?"

The woman on the other side nodded.

"Oh! Then the Gem of Solaris must be a gift to celebrate her recovery."

"That’s what I heard. The Duke bought it almost immediately after learning that one appeared for sale."

"Must be nice being a Duke’s daughter." The other women reacted with both jealousy and surprise.

Renswort family, huh? Caelan couldn’t help but become slightly curious about that.

He still didn’t know anything about the noble families in the capital. All he knew was that the Renswort family seemed to be quite popular. The talk was really interesting, but what made him interested more was the gem.

I wonder how much did Jack sell it for?

That was the real question in his mind. If a popular noble family ended up buying it, then they must have paid a nice amount.

"Well, I’ll find out soon enough." Just thinking about it made Caelan smile.

With that, Caelan finally walked away from the group of women and continued down the street. He hadn’t gone far when someone quietly appeared behind him.

"My Lord."

"Hm?"

Caelan glanced over his shoulder, and Theo’s familiar face greeted his sight. The man was wearing normal clothes, blending well with the crowd. He couldn’t help but commend the man on getting used to everything so quickly.

"So did you find anything yet?" Caelan asked casually as they walked side by side.

"I did, my Lord." Theo reached inside his coat and pulled out a folded piece of paper.

"I found several properties that matched what you asked me to find. But I’m still trying to find if I can find something better.

"That’s fine. There’s no rush." Caelan kindly smiled at the man. This was actually another task he had given Theo a few days ago.

He thought that it was time for them to find a house.

They had been staying in the capital for a week now. Even if their current inn was comfortable to stay, he know that staying there permanently wasn’t exactly a good idea.

The price there wasn’t exactly low, and with all their expenses too, everything adds up. It looked like they would be here in the capital for so long, so Caelan wanted somewhere where they could stay longer.

Money wasn’t that much of a problem since their business with Alden was doing surprisingly well. In fact, after renting the warehouse, things became easier for them. It was what Eveline had been doing for the past few days.

Meanwhile, for Caelan, he purposely stepped away from the job. Aside from the thing getting to repetitive for him, there was also another reason.

The entire business only existed because of Eveline’s ability. She was the one who could restore and multiply the crops, and he didn’t want to copy it.

Caelan wanted Eveline to have something that was hers too. He knew that the warehouse and the business were things she could manage herself. So he wanted her to have her own freedom on that.

That was why Caelan found himself getting more bored these past few days. It didn’t help that the system wasn’t giving him any new missions to go through.

"Hah..." Caelan let out a long sigh before shaking his head.

Theo glanced toward him. "Is something wrong, my Lord?"

"No. I’m just bored."

"I see..."

Caelan continued walking while looking around the busy street. Honestly, he was starting to feel a little lost.

He finally reached the capital, but now that he was here, he didn’t know what he was supposed to do next. Eveline had said in the past that the capital was the safest place they could go.

"What am I even supposed to do here?" Caelan sighed again.

Now that he was here, he really didn’t know what to do. He was a mere person in this vast world. He didn’t have any role or whatsoever.

Elara also didn’t give him any objectives to fulfill in this life so he didn’t know. He didn’t know what he wanted, and he didn’t know what to do.

Should I start finding a job or what? He sighed. He was thinking of ways to spend the rest of his time here, but he still can’t think of anything.

[Ding!]

"Hm?" Caelan’s eyes glued as the same holographic screen of the system appeared right before his eyes.

[The System detected that the Host is looking for something to do]

[Would the Host like to receive a Bonus Mission?]
