[Life Thread connection detected.]

[Mutual acceptance confirmed.]

[Life Thread has been restored.]

[Life Thread with Eveline Ardent has advanced to Phase 3.]

[Final Phase reached.]

[Phase 3 Effect: Complete Synchronization.]

[The Life Thread of the Host and connected partner are now fully synchronized.]

[While the connection remains active, sustained damage will have significantly reduced effects and recovery will be greatly accelerated.]

[Fatal damage will automatically be suppressed as long as the connected individual’s body remains capable of sustaining life.]

[Warning: Complete Synchronization does not grant immortality. Excessive or continuous damage may overwhelm the Life Thread if the body reaches its physical limit.]

And just like that, another two days passed since the day they shared a bed.

Caelan spent almost all of those two days inside the same room even though he was fine already. But still Eveline told him nope. She practically pleaded with him to rest a little longer.

Considering how worried she had been, Caelan couldn’t exactly refuse her.

That was basically how he ended up spending another two days trapped inside his room.

During those days, Eveline did everything. She was the one who went out to buy food and everything they needed while he just stayed inside.

So now that her request was done...

"Hah..."

Caelan stood in front of the mirror as he fixed the collar of his shirt.

"Finally."

Today, he was getting out.

He didn’t care what Eveline said anymore. His body was completely healed anyway, and there was absolutely no reason for him to spend another entire day there. And if he did, he was pretty sure he’d go insane.

Besides, he was in the capital.

He had nearly died just trying to get here, and he still hadn’t even seen what the place actually looked like.

Caelan grabbed his things before leaving the room. He made his way downstairs and finally stepped through the entrance of the inn. It was a pretty nice inn compared to the ones they stayed at.

The moment he walked outside, his footsteps immediately stopped.

"Whoa..." For several seconds, Caelan simply stood there.

The capital was nothing like the smaller towns and villages he had seen since arriving in Aurelith.

The street in front of him was wide enough for several carriages to pass beside one another without bumping.

The road itself was made from smooth stone, with raised walkways running along both sides. Tall buildings also stood together along the streets, most reaching three or four floors with colorful signs hanging above their entrances.

Shops seemed to be everywhere too. There were clothing stores, bakeries, restaurants, weapon shops, bookstores, and several others Caelan couldn’t even recognize from where he stood.

And there were people. A lot of people. He even spotted some carrying weapons openly, and nobody around them seemed to care about it.

"So this is the capital..." Caelan slowly stepped onto the street, taking it in. His eyes couldn’t help but move everywhere.

In the distance, he could see an enormous tower rising above the sky. It even had a strange glowing crystal attached near its top. Farther beyond it, there was also an enormous structure surrounded by tall walls sitting on a tall mountain.

That has to be the palace. Caelan didn’t need anyone to tell him what that was. Even from this far away, the place looked massive. He couldn’t imagine how big it was truly.

"Alright..." Caelan looked down the crowded street in front of him.

"Where the hell do I even start?" Caelan looked to his left then to his right. Both streets seemed equally crowded.

"Whatever." He picked a direction and started walking.

Caelan didn’t have any particular destination in mind. He just wanted to explore the space to see what the capital truly looks like.

The farther he went, the busier the streets became. Carriages constantly passed beside. And he even saw guards patrolling all around with their silver armor.

Caelan continued walking while looking around when a loud voice suddenly echoed from farther down the street.

"Make way!" The shout was loud enough to immediately catch everyone’s attention.

"Move to the side! Make way for our Lord’s carriage!"

Caelan stopped and looked toward the direction of the voice.

Around him, people who had been walking along the street quickly began moving to the sides. Even some merchants pulled their carts to move out of the center of the road.

"What’s going on?" Not knowing what was happening, Caelan simply followed everyone else and stepped toward the side.

Several mounted guards soon appeared from the crowd ahead. Each one was wearing polished armor with the same crest engraved on their chest. There were also long swords hanging from their waists.

Behind them was a carriage.

"Holy shit." Caelan’s eyebrows immediately rose.

Calling it a carriage almost felt wrong.

It was easily twice the size of the one he and Eveline used to reach the capital. Large wheels rolled it smoothly against the road, while four horses pulled it forward. Even the horses looked expensive.

Several more guards rode beside the carriage while another group followed behind it, making sure nobody got too close.

Is this some rich noble? Caelan watched curiously from the side of the street. That was the only explanation he could think of.

Back in earth, rich people always showed off their expensive cars. He didn’t know that people here did the same thing with carriages.

Caelan’s eyes moved toward the crest engraved on its door. It was his first time seeing one, although he didn’t exactly know what it was since he barely knew any noble families in the kingdom.

The carriage slowly passed in front of him. Then a sudden gust of wind swept through the street. The thin curtain covering one of the carriage windows fluttered open.

Caelan’s eyes naturally moved toward I. And for just a brief moment, he saw someone sitting inside.

A young maiden.

She looked to be around his age, dressed in an elegant gown that was clearly expensive. Her long hair fell neatly over her shoulders while her eyes calmly looked outside the window. She seemed used to it already.

Before Caelan could get a better look, the wind died down and the curtain fell back into place.

"..." Caelan sighed. That was quick.
