HISSSSSSSSSS!

The creature blasted forward at full speed. At the same time the swamp rose all around completely enveloping Damon. Walls of dark water surged upward from every direction, folding inward, sealing off space, and imprisoning him completely.

A perfect sphere of black liquid formed around him, dense, churning, and impenetrable. The miasma thickened within it, compressing layer after layer, turning the interior into a suffocating void of poison and pressure.

The Swamp King sneered on seeing how easily Damon got caught. It then lifted its hand and made a crushing gesture.

Inside the prison of black water, the pressure multiplied instantly. The walls tightened. Layer after layer of dense, toxin-laden liquid compressed inward, crushing space itself, turning the sphere into something closer to a singular point than a cage. The miasma thickened to the point of becoming almost solid, every inch of it infused with corrosive intent.

The Swamp King’s serpentine face twisted into something resembling satisfaction as it lowered its arm slightly, confident in the outcome.

However, the very next second, the impenetrable prison exploded into a million droplets of toxic water that rained down in every direction.

At the center of it, Damon hovered, completely still and completely unharmed. The miasmic essence that had moments ago been a suffocating prison now flowed toward him and around him like a submissive pet.

The Swamp King’s expression froze as it looked in disbelief.

Damon grinned. "Guess I am the winner here. My control of poison is better than yours."

The Swamp King became even more shocked because at the moment Damon was talking in a language that he understood.

"No need to be surprised. I am a disciple of the great Poison God. Heard of him?"

Damon was hoping that the answer would be an yes. It could potentially save him a lot of time and he could also maybe haul ass another bloodline candidate into his soul space for later. But how could things be so simple.

The Swamp King seemed determined to fight until the end as he once again unleashed another attack, this time a barrage of various attacks. The whole swamp was churning and attacking Damon, power packed punches coming in from all directions. ℯℯ𝑙.

Damon did not remain idle either. He blocked and parried the guy refraining from dealing any actual attack that might end him. At the same time, he analyzed everything about the creature.

This was a devourer in front of him. Its stats, skills everything could be attributed to its bloodline. But clearly he was different from Damon. He only possessed swamp related skills. This could be because this entire world was a swamp and only swamp creatures lived in this world.

But no matter how he saw it, the creature’s bloodline wasn’t all that unique.

Sure, the creature itself was plenty powerful but it was nothing Damon couldn’t put down. If he did kill this thing and absorb this bloodline, he would probably gain very little or nothing at all. He would only end up attracting the attention of others making his bloodline shine like a torch.

After a couple of exchanges, Damon decided to let this one go and move onto another target. He summoned his blood avatar and let him fight the swamp king while he tapped into the Bloodline network.

He was almost about to get the hell out of there when suddenly an unexpected voice spoke to him. It was the snake lady, the artifact spirit from the Poison God’s ring. "Don’t leave without him. He is special."

Huh? Damon was surprised. "What do you mean?" He asked.

"That creature’s physique is very similar to yours. His body is riddled with poisons. I have never seen anything like it. Perhaps you can use his body to make a break through in your Nine Millions Poison physique. It is not a certainity, just a thought."

Damon nodded. Even he had thought about the same thing, but he was still not sure if consuming this bloodline would be worth it. There was only a chance it could upgrade his Nine Million Poison physique but it would definitely make his bloodline thread stand out. It was simply not worth the risk.

"Thank you telling me but I am going to let this one go."

"Wait. There is a way I can hide him from the eyes of the others."

"What do you mean?" Damon was now curious.

"The creatures you hid in your soul space are not truly hidden to the outside world. They can still be sensed."

Damon already knew that. "And?"

"I have another method. You can send this one to my lord’s world. There he would truly be hidden. No one will be able to get to him. You can trust my words."

Damon raised a brow. "That is indeed a good idea."

All of a sudden, the snake lady was being helpful. He was pretty sure it was only because her master’s legacy was involved but he didn’t care. He needed every advantage he could scrape if he was going to stand against beings hailed as Gods.

"Ok. Let’s do it. Do you need me to beat him senseless first? Make him lose conscious or something?"

No answer came for his question. Instead, a fog coiled out from within him and the vague image of a woman formed. The next second the fog dispersed and shot towards the massive creature.

In the blink of an eye, the massive creature entirely vanished and the fog once again shot back towards Damon.

Fuck. Damon swore inwardly. Just how powerful was this item spirit to just straight up kidnap a creature like this without even giving him a chance to retaliate. If he was in trouble, would this woman even intervene?

He then sighed and shook his head bitterly. Of course, there was no chance for something like that to happen. But it was not like there was no way. In fact, this was a small gap she had given him and now it was upto him to tear open a Damon sized hole.

Using this creature as an excuse he would finally be able to access that legacy world!

He somehow had to. Making plans in his head, Damon temporarily put this aside. He had one more bloodline fragment saved for later and now it was time to hunt for more. It was quite lucky of him to run into good stuff like this but he couldn’t count on luck forever.

"Hmmm... Now that I think about it... shouldn’t these devourers have a good amount of luck stocked up?" Damon mulled over it. Perhaps if his next one was lucky enough, then he would even be able to step it up and push for one more bloodline fragment?

He considered for a moment before snapping out of it. It was a good plan but nothing was set in stone. He first needed to see just what sort of an opponent he would be dealing with next.

Damon steadied himself and reached into the bloodline network again. "Strong... someone strong enough but not too strong." He looked for a couple of seconds before picking one. "What are you..." He wondered as he teleported to the new world.
