Alex immediately used his Mana Distribution Blade Spell, making the mana forming his blade vibrate at a different frequency from normal mana in an attempt to resist the Origin Energy.

Yet, the Warrior Badger’s claws tore through his sword. As expected, even though Alex had learned the spell, the monsters were much better at using it with Origin Energy because they had been fighting with it for a long time.

The first Warrior Badger took advantage of the opening and stabbed its other claw toward Alex’s neck. Alex quickly created a thick slab of mana in front of himself and poured an enormous amount of Will into the construct, strengthening it enough to withstand the incoming attack.

The monster’s claws struck the mana slab, and its Origin Energy immediately began penetrating the construct. It tried to vibrate the mana and destroy the slab from its foundation, but Alex’s Will was so dense that the Origin Energy could not spread through it quickly enough.

That brief delay was enough.

Alex fired a Mana Shuriken from behind the mana slab, and the spinning construct tore into the Warrior Badger’s face. It sliced through the monster’s head cleanly, killing it instantly before the creature could pull its claws away.

Alex rolled to the side without waiting for the corpse to fall. The other two Warrior Badgers immediately attacked him, and he barely managed to avoid their claws before rolling across the ground and jumping back to his feet.

As soon as he stood, Alex created five Mana Bullets. However, his body suddenly stumbled, and he realized that his leg muscles had been cut during the previous dodge because he had not completely avoided one of the attacks.

The second Warrior Badger did not let the opportunity go to waste and swung its claw toward Alex’s face. At that moment, a pulse of mana came from another direction, briefly distracting the monster and making it turn toward Emma.

Alex immediately took advantage of the opening. He wrapped mana around the bones in his injured leg, forcing them to move even though the damaged muscles could no longer provide enough strength.

He kicked the Warrior Badger hard in the chest. The monster was thrown backward with so much force that it crashed into another badger behind it, taking the creature with it before both of them slammed heavily into the wall.

Alex immediately fired the five Mana Bullets he had prepared. The projectiles flew toward the badgers attacking his team and struck them, killing two of them almost instantly.

The third Warrior Badger continued circling Alex while carefully watching his movements. It did not attack immediately, seemingly waiting for him to make a mistake before committing to another attack.

Alex ignored the monster for a moment and looked around the battlefield. Most of the badgers were moving around him and attacking his team instead, while one Warrior Badger was also fighting them, although Joseph’s Kinetic Mana Bullets and Frank’s shield were barely managing to keep the fourth Warrior Badger at bay.

Alex remained vigilant as he scanned the tunnels again. He still had not found the source of the spear attack, and the fact that the enemy had been able to launch such a dangerous attack without being detected made him unwilling to lower his guard.

He quickly created another Mana Shuriken and fired it toward the group of badgers attacking his team. The third Warrior Badger immediately reacted and rushed toward the projectile, clearly intending to destroy it before it could reach the other monsters and kill many of them.

Alex rushed toward the Warrior Badger at the same time. He moved with explosive speed, and just as the monster reached the Mana Shuriken and swung its claw to destroy it, Alex saw it posture break and slightly lose its balance from the movement.

That was enough.

Alex swung his Mana Sword toward the Warrior Badger’s neck. However, before the blade could reach its target, Alex suddenly sensed another attack approaching his chest.

The second Warrior Badger was stabbing its claw toward him.

Alex had seen the monster get smashed into the wall earlier, but it had returned with so much speed that he had not been able to clearly follow its movement. It seemed that the Warrior Badgers could enter something similar to a berserk state, greatly increasing their physical abilities when they became enraged.

Even the Warrior Badger that Frank had thrown had suddenly become much faster after Frank threw it into the tunnel and sent it away from the battlefield. Alex now understood that the monster had not simply recovered quickly; they could probably boost their strength and speed greatly for some time.

The third Warrior Badger was still off balance, and Alex’s sword was already moving toward its neck. At the same time, the second Warrior Badger’s claw was approaching his chest, aiming to penetrate his body and destroy his lungs.

The monsters clearly expected Alex to stop his attack and dodge.

Alex continued anyway. His Mana Sword dug halfway into the third Warrior Badger’s neck. Alex then vibrated the blade harder and swung with even more force, completely severing the monster’s head before its body could regain its balance.

At the same time, the second Warrior Badger’s claw tore through Alex’s chest and pierced his lungs before emerging from his back. The Origin Energy surrounding the claws made it difficult for Alex’s mana to reinforce his body and prevent the damage, but he remained calm as his Advanced Battle Instinct Spell pushed the crippling pain toward the back of his mind.

Through the claws buried inside his body, Alex poured Fire Element Mana into the Warrior Badger. The mana could not travel very deep because it encountered strong resistance, and Alex could tell that the monster had realized what he was trying to do.

The Warrior Badger immediately tried to pull its claw out and retreat. It might have been frightened by Alex’s willingness to ignore such a serious injury and instead use it as an opportunity to attack, or perhaps it simply intended to wait for him to bleed to death before attacking again.

Alex did not give it the chance. His hand moved forward and clamped down tightly around the monster’s wrist, holding the claw that had pierced through his chest in place.

Alex then suddenly smashed his head into the second Warrior Badger’s head with all the strength he could manage.

A loud crack echoed through the dungeon. Alex didn’t know if it came from his skull or the monster’s. Despite that, the second Warrior Badger was the one who became momentarily stunned because the impact weakened its Will for a brief moment.

Alex instantly took advantage of the opening and compressed the Fire Element Mana inside the monster’s body. This time, he did not bother stabilizing the mana or carefully controlling the compression. He only focused on speed.

The Fire Element Mana quickly became unstable due to his hazardous method and exploded inside the monster’s body. The Warrior Badger’s body was torn apart from within, sending pieces of flesh in different directions and leaving behind only one leg, part of its head, and the hand still attached to the claw that had pierced Alex’s chest.

Alex immediately pulled the remaining claw out of his body and used mana to plug the wounds. The damage was serious, but he managed to stabilize himself enough to continue fighting while looking toward the rest of his team.

They were still defending themselves against the remaining badgers, but their situation had become dangerous. Several of them had already suffered injuries, and Frank was struggling to maintain his position while the monsters continued attacking from multiple directions.

Alex quickly realized that they needed to change their formation before someone else was seriously injured. Frank could no longer continue fighting at the front in his current condition, especially after the damage he had already suffered.

"Frank, go to the back and switch positions with Yulia. Petra, stay with Frank and heal him while you’re there, and Yulia, come forward and take Frank’s position," Alex commanded.
