Chapter 1368: Chapter 1344: Failed Negotiations

The car stopped at a remote cold storage factory, Hua Qingyi followed in his own vehicle and parked behind. He glanced around at the abandoned factory. Under the moonlight, shadows overlapped in the darkness, swaying as they moved forward.

A few burly men blocked them at the entrance, conducting a thorough search like in all those movies, from top to bottom. The weapons uncovered were tossed into a metal barrel, clanging loudly.

Among the three, Hua Qingyi was the safest, so when the big man expressed doubt, he gave him a very foolish smile, following Shao Qinyi into the factory.

Compared to the shadows outside, the factory was blatantly displaying its intentions.

The factory was divided into two parts in its design, with a large freeze vault at the center of the first floor where a short person stood facing away from them. Though facing away, Hua Qingyi was surprised; he had guessed much about Boss Xing but never imagined her as a woman. When Boss Xing turned around, he was startled nearly to shouting.

Boss Xing was not only a woman but a very alluring one. Compared to Hua Qingyi’s shock, the other two were much calmer.

"Here is the list of the previous batch of personnel eligible for sentence reduction; one of them can be released next month." Shao Qinyi handed over a prepared dossier to Boss Xing.

Boss Xing casually tossed the dossier aside. This act was undoubtedly provocative in Quan Xianglin’s eyes. Maybe on the way here, doubts lingered about Hua Qingyi’s analysis, but at this moment, such doubts were completely dispelled.

Despite death row inmates being his pioneering creation, he never pinned any hopes on them. Now, sensing something wrong, he wouldn’t show any leniency.

Smiling, Quan Xianglin subtly moved to Shao Qinyi’s left, blocking Hua Qingyi’s view of Boss Xing.

"Boss Xing, the number of death row inmates is decreasing, which deviates from our previous agreement. I send quite a few people your way every month." Quan Xianglin said as he walked around the cold storage.

From the outside, the factory looked large, but the actual usable area was limited. Next to where they stood was a trough, with iron hooks hanging from the beams, rusty yet still sharp.

"Does having more people matter? The death rate is so high it can’t keep pace with the speed of my training," Boss Xing scoffed. "I’m merely responsible for training these people and selecting the most suitable candidates for each mission, not sending them out to die."

Quan Xianglin raised an eyebrow, moving his lips silently. "Boss Xing, although your role is training, the fact is these people die on missions, and the follow-up is lacking too." Shao Qinyi suddenly spoke, and to Hua Qingyi it seemed the worst time to be speaking.

"Is Shao Junwei trying to haggle over gains and losses with me?" Boss Xing gracefully walked next to Quan Xianglin. "Is this the Chairman’s idea or the Military Commission’s?"

"Boss Xing, my subordinate was impetuous, please don’t mind him. But he speaks the truth, although I’ve always considered you a very competent person."

"In Palermo, I’m not the leader. If Chairman Quan wishes to hold someone accountable, then deal with the dead. I’ve done my part from my standpoint. As for why things turned out this way, blame it on your incompetent son, eager for quick success, ruining my plan, and losing many good hands."

Hua Qingyi widened his eyes; such words were like a slap to Quan Xianglin’s face. He couldn’t help but look at this woman again, detecting a hint of resentment beneath his beautiful eyes.

"Alright, it’s neither the fault nor the responsibility we’re here to pursue. There’s no need to hurt the harmony over those who should be dead." Quan Xianglin gave Shao Qinyi a signal, then gently placed both hands on Boss Xing’s shoulders like an elder, speaking softly.

"In that case, why did Chairman Quan have me fly all the way from the United States?"

"There’s something I’d like to confirm with you." Quan Xianglin pulled Boss Xing to the side, deliberately avoiding others. "I have a group of people I’d like Boss Xing to verify for me. These assassins come from the American Gang, and this is my only lead."

Eagle-like eyes swept across Boss Xing’s face, trying to find subtle clues in her expression. But Boss Xing’s seemingly clueless look suggested she knew nothing.

"Chairman Quan has intelligence networks all over the world, is he asking the wrong person?"

Haha! Quan Xianglin laughed. "Boss Xing seems to be unaware, but indeed I’ve mastered some information, and it has something to do with you."

"Chairman, are you implying these assassins were sent by me?"

Quan Xianglin’s smile deepened, chilling to behold. "I hope it’s not related to you, but there are too many coincidences. We’ve been old friends cooperating for many years; if I didn’t know you well, we probably wouldn’t be talking face-to-face now." Saying this, Quan Xianglin pointed at the people above. "I’ve come with sincerity, but Boss Xing looks like she’s ready to kill."

"Indeed it’s a coincidence, I just learned a piece of news; these people were merely brought to protect my safety. Chairman, aren’t you here to kill me?"

The two suddenly laughed, leaving the others puzzled.

"Are the American Gang members yours?"

Boss Xing shook her head, and Quan Xianglin suddenly turned his gaze to Hua Qingyi, who met his eyes, feeling uneasy inside but still maintaining a smile on his face.

"I think there might be a misunderstanding between us." After saying this, Quan Xianglin returned to Shao Qinyi’s side. "The next batch will arrive as scheduled; meanwhile, I need about fifty people immediately." Arrange it."

"Chairman Quan!" Boss Xing called out to Quan Xianglin who was preparing to leave. She raised her hand, and a clicking sound came from the second floor. "Our agreement ends here."

"What do you mean?" Anyone with common sense could interpret the clicking sound. Compared to the sound of a gun being loaded, Boss Xing’s words were more concerning to Quan Xianglin. "I thought we had reached an agreement just now."

"Haha, that’s your personal desire." Boss Xing suddenly stepped back a few paces, disappeared among her own people under a human wall, and Quan Xianglin couldn’t see Boss Xing’s whereabouts.
