The director of the Spiritual Ability Research Institute was very curious about the creature in the black hole.

But looking at his greying hair, Chen Ming didn’t agree: "That place is too dangerous."

The director of Spiritual Ability Institute stubbornly said, "That’s precisely why I want to go and see it. So far, we’ve never encountered a spiritual creature that requires more than one Main Ship to handle."

"Moreover, I am a Psychic, I have the ability to protect myself."

Speaking of abilities, Chen Ming really didn’t know what kind of abilities the director of the Spiritual Ability Institute possesses.

Usually, the director focuses on various spiritual ability technology research, leading multiple teams and working on several projects simultaneously.

It wasn’t until Chen Ming’s project started that he stopped other tasks and focused on this one.

Although unclear about the director’s specific abilities, Chen Ming didn’t see him use any spiritual energy during the project.

This indicates that the director’s spiritual energy isn’t the type that assists research, it’s probably of the combat type.

Moreover, from Chen Ming’s usual perception, the director’s spiritual strength is likely around level 4 or 5.

Although this gave some credibility to the director’s words, Chen Ming was still a bit hesitant.

Because that creature resides within the black hole’s event horizon.

Even though he would have more preparations next time, with equipment to investigate beyond the horizon into the horizon.

If the director of Spiritual Ability Institute were to go, he might try to get close to the creature, and Chen Ming couldn’t really guarantee his safety.

Just looking at the director’s aged eyes filled with a special yearning and curiosity about the unknown made it hard for Chen Ming to outright refuse.

"You can go, but once you’re there, you’ll have to follow my instructions, or forget it."

"No problem."

The director’s compelling gaze quickly transformed back to his usual expression.

He agreed to Chen Ming’s request decisively, believing that going was better than not going at all.

"Once we get there, you handle everything. Just let me see that creature."

"Are you coming?"

The director suddenly turned his head and asked the head of the Ship Research Institute, provoking an annoyed response, "Do you want me replaced as the head?"

"Are you done? If so, let’s go, and first get the weapons."

After the Spiritual Ability director explained some tasks, the Ship Research director clarified the location for the Titan-class weapon shipped from Fan Chao Research Institute.

Chen Ming directly used spiritual energy to transport them to a closed Star System near their headquarters.

This location was similar to the area Chen Ming rented for research on the transformation of the clan leader’s corpse to manufacture the Main Ship, specifically for research with potential for large-scale physical damage.

Chen Ming and the two directors directly teleported to the Space Station’s port.

With the Ship Research director’s prior notice, their arrival didn’t trigger alarms or other issues.

Once on his turf, the Ship Research director glanced around before leading Chen Ming toward the area with the Titan-class ship weapons.

Before they’d taken more than a couple of steps, Chen Ming’s vision blurred, and the lights in the port began to flicker frequently, seemingly due to a minor fault in the lighting system.

However, everyone else at the port acted as if nothing happened and continued with their tasks.

The Ship Research director explained, "It should be another weapon test. The energy consumption is too high, causing this. It’ll be fine shortly."

"Really?"

The idea that just testing a weapon could cause an energy shortfall for a Space Station intrigued Chen Ming.

But just a few seconds later, the previously flickering lighting system suddenly went dark.

The emergency lights activated after the regular lighting system went out to re-illuminate the port.

"Uh, is this normal too?"

Without batting an eye, the Ship Research director said, "Yes, normal. Today, two new weapons arrived for testing, both newly developed Titan-class weapons, not the kind installed on the Space Station."

He added, "These weapons are from Fan Chao. It’s typical for their weapons to have such high consumption. Without an actual combat zone, they collaborate with us to test them on the front line."

The ’front line’ the Ship Research director referred to was clearly not the Mechanical Race war front, otherwise, it wouldn’t have been sent to their headquarters.

He had also mentioned earlier that the weapons sent from Fan Chao were new models.

With the Mechanical Race utterly defeated, there’s no capacity for testing at their front.

So, the target for testing was quite obvious.

"I have no objections, but I’m curious about what kind of weapon can cause a Space Station specifically designed for testing to go dark."

"We’ll find out soon."

Then the Ship Research director led Chen Ming and the Spiritual Ability director to an experimental area near the exterior of the Space Station.

This was a typical semi-open area used for testing various weapons that needed to be evaluated in space.

Standing on the ground of the Space Station, one could see the unbroken starry sky, and this area used anti-gravity devices to contain oxygen internally, eliminating the need for protective suits to breathe.

However, for safety’s sake, all workers here wore heavy protective suits equipped with noise-canceling headphones.
