Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station
Chapter 1324 - 369: Monster_2
Then he turned his attention back to considering the wormhole itself.
Chen Ming controlled the spaceship, turning and accelerating, preparing to temporarily leave the area, but just at the moment when the engines of the three ships began to speed up.
The sharp sense of danger that had vanished suddenly pierced him again.
Chen Ming immediately maneuvered the battleship, but a purple-black beam shot from the black hole behind still swept over a Stardust Level ship whose Shield hadn’t opened in time.
And the area on that Stardust Level ship swept by the beam seemed to have been gripped by some terrifying pressure, directly twisted into a helix of steel.
Most of the ship’s systems were also damaged under this heavy pressure.
Even when the beam disappeared, Chen Ming still sensed a force of Spiritual Energy entwined around the damaged area of the Stardust, continuing to exert tremendous pressure on the inside of the ship.
Gradually crushing the already crumbled Stardust Level into a metal sphere.
A beam that can escape a black hole is definitely not a normal beam, it should be a projection of some Spiritual Power.
Something within the event horizon of the black hole cast its power out.
This familiar scene made him recall the day when he and Yan Xiong had a conflict, and Yan Xiong used his ability to control metal to twist his Iron Ore No. into a metal ball.
Chen Ming felt a string in his mind tense.
He decisively operated the Supreme Point and the remaining Stardust Level for a short-distance teleportation, putting enough distance between them and the black hole behind.
Immediately, he turned the ship’s head, and all the sensing devices powered on to full capacity, trying to investigate what exactly was within the black hole’s event horizon.
However, Chen Ming’s ship wasn’t equipped with special devices for examining black hole areas.
The sensors on the Supreme Point were top-notch, but they weren’t suited for this scenario.
Fortunately, the presence within the black hole didn’t continue to emit that beam outward.
And the sense of danger in Chen Ming’s perception had gradually disappeared, as if it was just a warning not to get too close to that black hole.
But Chen Ming’s face showed no expression at this moment.
He simply labeled the thing in the black hole as something that must die in his heart.
Whether it was to pave the way for the fleet’s arrival later, to nip the threat in the bud, or just for sheer revenge.
He had to enter the event horizon of the black hole, he had to thoroughly resolve the thing inside the black hole.
Chen Ming glanced again at the deep black hole, and departing the area with the Supreme Point and the Stardust Level temporarily.
At the same time, he picked up his terminal and found the contact list of some research-identified, capable people he had met over the past six months.
He browsed through it and found the phone number of the director of an institute focused on researching celestial bodies, particularly black holes.
Within a few minutes, he successfully borrowed suitable equipment, and in a few more minutes had integrated the equipment under his control.
Chen Ming installed these black hole exploration devices on the remaining two ships.
Though the best one capable of directly crossing the event horizon to investigate was unavailable for Chen Ming temporarily, and even if he had it, time and a specialized place would be needed for installation.
It’s not something that can be used by randomly finding a ship.
Thus, Chen Ming next needed to cross the event horizon of the black hole to scout.
But this coincidentally fit his needs.
He wanted to see what was inside the event horizon targeting him, then eliminate it.
On the only remaining Stardust Level he was, after arranging a robot under his control, it began to turn towards the black hole’s event horizon again.
Soon.
Through the robot’s perspective, Chen Ming once more sensed the increasingly intense feeling of danger.
And at the instant the robot sensed the danger reaching its peak, he activated the Teleportation Engine, forcibly teleporting into the black hole’s event horizon.
This time, the teleportation also narrowly escaped a purple-black beam shot from the black hole.
Within the black hole’s event horizon, Chen Ming could only see countless twisted lights via visual sensors, as though a multicolored blackness made it impossible to discern the interior situation visually.
However, after Chen Ming prepared special equipment, the event horizon of the black hole was no longer a cage that devours everything.
He could intuitively detect the conditions inside the event horizon through these devices.
But he was suddenly taken aback by the data coming back.
Because the sensors detected not only the black hole itself but also something of similar size to a Scavenger, a living being.
Right in the center of that black hole.
Something akin to a black maggot-like creature is struggling to crawl out of the black hole.
Only, it seems to be confined within this black hole, unable to entirely break free from its grasp.
This maggot-like creature’s head is not blunt but rather sharp, splitting open into a giant maw filled with curled sharp teeth at the tip.
On either side of its body protruding from the black hole, sharp, elongated limbs resembling those of arthropods are wildly thrashing and struggling, yet incapable of altering its entrapped state, merely making its frenzy more apparent.
Judging from these characteristics, it appears not to be a tangible organism, but rather a manifestation of an entity from another dimension entering the normal universe.
