Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station
Chapter 1306 - 364: Little Madman (Part 2)
"Thank you."
A few minutes later.
Chen Ming left the boss’s place.
After handling these extra tasks, it was time for him to start his main business.
Chen Ming mapped out his plans, dividing the tasks into internal and external parts.
The external part was what he had already thought about: the manufacturing of the new main ship.
Of course, Chen Ming first had to ensure the feasibility of this research project.
Not the feasibility Chen Ming himself knew, but the reasonable feasibility that he needed others to believe in when seeking collaboration.
The problem shouldn’t be too big.
The semi-biological and mechanical technology he mastered already had preliminary applications.
He just needed to share the technology and conduct some experiments to confirm that the technology he mastered was entirely reliable.
Chen Ming didn’t mind sharing his technology because progress in technology relies on sharing.
His own research could take ages, while sharing with others for help was more efficient.
Moreover, sharing is called sharing because others would also share technology that Chen Ming doesn’t have with him.
Chen Ming would certainly not lose out.
Of course, Chen Ming also planned to involve An Wuping in this matter, which could help him explain his mastery of certain biological technologies.
It would also assist in clarifying the reasons behind his recent acquirement of various biological technology materials from the Empire.
An Wuping’s presence could also help Chen Ming express some things he wasn’t comfortable saying.
As for the biological technologies and some ship design technologies that An Wuping himself mastered.
Chen Ming could use the explanation that he personally taught An Wuping’s Insect Race the ship manufacturing technology as a reason.
As long as Chen Ming’s acting was convincing enough, An Wuping’s involvement would only be advantageous.
Moreover, he believed when he presented the corpse of the Phase Giant Beast Clan Leader to those he wanted to invite, even if his ideas were infeasible, someone would make every effort to make them feasible.
However, Chen Ming felt he needed to consider another issue.
The current naval technology development direction heavily favored frontline combat.
So, when designing ships, the emphasis was mostly on frontal armor, frontal firepower, and cooperation with other ships in frontline battles.
Let alone the Fourteenth Legion.
The Fourteenth Legion had specially modified several different types of ships, including main ships.
These ships transformed by the Fourteenth Legion often boasted larger hulls, heavier armor, and stronger frontal firepower compared to standard models.
Chen Ming even knew that some Phase Ships developed by the Legion left spaces specifically for military armor.
He was a bit worried if his design direction would be skewed by only interacting with the Legion.
The resulting design might deviate from his ideas.
He wanted his main ship to be unlike the direction of military ships.
Though he would collaborate with the Ship Research Institute and Spiritual Ability Research Institute and also involve the Biological Research Institute for joint development.
He would reach out to related departments too, but he wasn’t sure if the other research institutes would have the same tendencies.
Thus, Chen Ming felt it best to find some different people beyond those from the Legion or military to join his project.
But since he was collaborating with the Legion, utilizing their facilities and resources, plus their information, seeking others seemed a bit out of place.
This made him somewhat troubled.
Nonetheless, Chen Ming thought further.
Suddenly, he came up with a new idea.
That was he could utilize his Extraordinary Research Institute somewhat.
Although the Extraordinary Research Institute belonged to the Fourteenth Legion and was currently labeled with research on "Spiritual Energy," "Mechanical Race," and "Special Devices."
That didn’t mean his institute was limited to cooperation with Legion research institutes or those subjects.
He could completely invite other research departments under the name of his institute to jointly develop a new project.
This should be the most suitable approach.
Although Chen Ming was the only person from the Extraordinary Research Institute able to participate in this project, as the recruits of his institute weren’t specialized in ship research.
But anyway, he only needed a pretext; it wasn’t a problem.
This way, he could invite more people to get involved.
Such as from the Sinda Corporation.
Since the last time the chairman attended Chen Ming’s engagement party and the relationship eased, Chen Ming believed the research institute from Sinda Corporation would be eager to invest resources and join Chen Ming’s new research project.
Although Sinda Corporation didn’t possess Phase Technology, and their mass-produced ships were commercialized.
However, Chen Ming still liked Sinda Corporation’s ships; they felt handy to use.
And although Sinda Corporation hadn’t mastered Phase Ship Technology, they did have main ship-level technology, so they could contribute to the design of main ships.
It’s worth noting that Chen Ming hadn’t completely mastered the main ship-level technology yet.
Inviting diverse minds was certainly the right approach.
After all, with the Phase Giant Beast Clan Leader’s corpse laid out and his willingness to share his semi-biological and mechanical technology, he shouldn’t worry about finding collaborators.
