Sorry, the Villain's Mom Is a God of Cookery
Chapter 83: The Cubs Work Together
Chapter 83: Chapter 83: The Cubs Work Together
Two minutes later, Qi Pei’er and Qi Zhang arrived.
Qi Zhang joined the other kids in their happy playtime.
Qi Pei’er, on the other hand, started planning the next steps with Nan Zhi and the others.
A small cart was parked outside the shop, filled with brand-new pots, pans, bowls, and utensils. The production team had specially purchased them for what was originally meant to be Xie Yu’s breakfast stall.
Now that everyone had decided to open the restaurant together, Xie Yu’s breakfast stall was no longer needed, so they decided to put the "waste" to good use.
With the old stall completely dismantled, they could move the items over and use them right away.
As for the automatic mahjong tables that were originally in Nan Zhi’s shop, they had all been cleared out yesterday in exchange for some startup capital to buy new things.
Now, everything was ready. All they had to do was begin.
Then, three pairs of eyes turned in unison to look at Nan Zhi.
Nan Zhi raised an eyebrow before saying:
"Well then... shall we begin?"
At her words, everyone sprang into action.
Xie Yu and Fu Chao took on the most strenuous manual labor, carrying things into the shop trip after trip.
With their sleeves rolled up, the two of them were soon sweating profusely from the exertion.
Qi Pei’er brought out the cleaning supplies and wiped down every visible surface in the shop.
Seeing this, Nan Zhi also wanted to lend a hand and do something.
But...
"Nan Zhi, where does this go?"
"Zhizhi! Come look! This thing won’t fit together!"
"The owner of the second-hand market is on the phone! Nan Zhi, can you take it?"
"..."
Everywhere she turned, someone was calling for Nan Zhi.
In no time, Nan Zhi became the busiest person there.
She was like a firefighter, rushing to wherever she was needed.
Fortunately, her thinking was clear and she was full of experience.
No matter what problem arose, she could provide a solution in the shortest amount of time.
In just a short while, the chaotic shop began to grow more and more orderly under her direction...
[I’m wide awake now, my eyes are popping out of my head!]
[I’m once again deeply aware that this shop would fall apart without Nan Zhi!]
[Weren’t people waiting for them to start fighting and for the drama to escalate? Do they look like they’re fighting?]
[Haven’t you guys noticed? No matter how intensely they were arguing yesterday, the moment Nan Zhi spoke, everyone went quiet!]
[Nan Zhi isn’t just talking nonsense. My family owns a restaurant, and a lot of her advice is spot-on! She’s a seasoned pro!]
[I’m just realizing Nan Zhi is a total enigma. What did she do before? A chef? A restaurant owner? Anyway, I don’t believe she’s just a female celebrity!]
[Yeah, we don’t even know where she went to college! Such a mysterious woman!]
[Didn’t they say she was uneducated? I’ve seen her interviews. She just hems and haws and can’t string a sentence together. She’s got nothing between the ears!]
[But look at her now. Does she seem uncultured and simple-minded?]
...
There were four livestreams in total.
Each stream was focused on its respective star, only occasionally catching glimpses of the others.
But as it happened, all the livestreams were now discussing Nan Zhi, their viewers’ gazes uncontrollably drawn to her.
The entire spotlight was focused on her alone!
And yet, this didn’t stir up any jealousy or dissatisfaction.
Because everyone could see for themselves the crucial role Nan Zhi was playing.
At that moment, aside from the area where the little kids were playing, the entire shop was a hive of bustling and boisterous activity.
Meanwhile, the four kids were squatting in a circle, facing each other and fiddling with the "treasures" they had unearthed from the attic yesterday.
They were very seriously discussing how to make use of these treasures.
Only Nan Yi was distracted, constantly glancing behind him.
Finally, he simply stood up. "I’m going to go help!"
Then he scampered over to Nan Zhi’s side, looked up and asked her something, and joined the ranks of those moving things outside the shop.
Compared to adult men like Fu Chao and Xie Yu, he was too weak to move the large items.
So he picked out the small, miscellaneous things.
When Fu Chao saw him, he recalled how reliable and sensible Nan Yi had been before and proactively assigned him tasks.
Seeing this, the remaining three kids looked completely bewildered.
Xie An’an said softly, "Is it bad that we’re just playing?"
Qi Zhang had a more direct thought. "Should we go help too, then?"
Qing Xi scratched his face awkwardly. "But my uncle told me not to cause trouble."
’No, that’s not right.’
’How could diligent kids coming to help be considered causing trouble?’
’Perfect!’
’It’s happily decided!’
"Yiyi! We’re here to help you!"
The remaining three kids joined in to help Nan Yi move things.
Nan Yi had been trying to move a chair.
The chair was taller than him and almost toppled over on him.
But the chubby flesh on Nan Yi’s little face was taut as he gritted his teeth and managed to drag the wooden chair forward!
It was just too much of a struggle, and his cheeks quickly flushed bright red.
That is, until the other kids joined in.
With a HEAVE-HO, they worked together, and the heavy chair was no longer a problem!
Fu Chao, having just finished moving something, walked out from inside and grew anxious at the sight:
"That’s too dangerous! What if it falls on you? Put it down right..."
"They’re fine."
Nan Zhi stopped him, watching the kids with a smile, thinking this was quite nice.
When they finally got the chair into position, they cheered and chattered as if they had completed a monumental task.
Fu Chao couldn’t help but be amused, and he let out a laugh.
Finally, thanks to the efforts of the adults and the kids, the entire shop was completely transformed——
The booths along the wall were replaced with four-person tables, while on the other side, six square tables and two round tables were arranged in an orderly fashion.
Further inside, through a small door, was the kitchen. Every corner had been cleaned until it was spotless. They had even managed to remove the old, stubborn grime from the walls, restoring them to their original state.
Common equipment like the gas stove, woks, and prep stations were placed along one wall, while other items were placed on the adjacent wall. The two sides connected to form a right angle—the L-shaped layout that Xie Yu had said was the most space-efficient and best suited for a small to medium-sized restaurant.
Additionally, the calligraphy scrolls on the walls, with phrases like "May your ventures flourish" and "May wealth roll in," were taken down. The walls were cleaned until they were pristine and white, adorned only with dried flowers and herbs for decoration.
There were no other decorations, but the overall look was simple, tasteful, and bright.
The dark-colored tables and chairs, paired with similarly colored floor tiles, exuded a certain antique charm that was even more stunning than they had anticipated!
The cast members: "Wow."
The kids: "Whoa!"
The audience: "Woooow."
Just then, a voice came from the entrance:
"Your ingredients are here!"
The amount of ingredients needed for a proper restaurant was on a completely different scale from that of a small stall.
That’s why Nan Zhi had taken the time yesterday to go to the market, find a good supplier, and arrange for them to deliver every morning.
The person in charge of the delivery was a young man whose features were somewhat similar to yesterday’s owner; he was probably the owner’s son.
He first stared at Nan Zhi for a good while.
It was only when Fu Chao, who had silently followed her, shot him a glare that he quietly averted his gaze.
"Ahem, here are the ingredients you wanted. If you can confirm the quantities are correct, please sign for them."
He said, handing her the order form.
Nan Zhi lowered her gaze and scanned it.
"These ingredients are no good. Bring me a different batch."
The young man grew anxious.
"What’s wrong with them?"
