Chapter 343 Dangerous Terrain and Exotic Flowers
Several people buried their heads and hastened on their way, while the sounds behind them could only be described as deafening.
The bubble giant moved swiftly, and the group, including Ivan, had various means of speeding up, so they weren’t slow either.
“Shall we test the mettle of this giant?”
Soon, the group emerged from a large ravine, and Doug glanced back at the relentlessly pursuing bubble giant, somewhat eager to suggest,
“Don’t be fooled by the size of the bubble giant; its true strength can only be known after a confrontation.”
Moreover, their opponent had been lured out of its own territory.
As long as it wasn’t a Level 4 creature, Doug was confident he wouldn’t be at a disadvantage.
“The situation in the pit is unclear; let’s not complicate matters unnecessarily,” Solomon rejected the offer without a second thought. They hadn’t come here to show off their fighting prowess, which could easily lead to other unforeseen complications.
Seeing that he was unwilling, Doug did not insist further.
Afterward, they veered to one side, out of the bubble giant’s line of sight.
By the time the bubble giant took big strides to move forward, it could no longer find a trace of the group.
They had vanished without a trace.
The bubble giant roared repeatedly, smashing things around in frustration before retreating back into the ravine with burning anger to its previous hiding spot.
“We’ve lost it.”
“This high-level magical item is quite nice; Sorcerer Solomon, you do have your ways.”
Not long after the giant’s departure, Ivan and the others reappeared; they hadn’t actually gone far, having hidden under an outcrop concealed by a sophisticated mirror that erased their tracks and masked their presence.
“Just a trinket; not worth mentioning.”
Solomon extended his hand, and the Three-color Mirror floating in front of them landed in his palm.
With the bubble giant guarding within the ravine, the group had to choose a different path to move forward.
Seeing is believing; after witnessing the ‘true face’ of the colorful pit, they set off again, even more cautious and careful. They avoided any encounters with unusual creatures and avoided any places when possible, resorting to force only when avoidance was not an option.
Their primary focus remained finding the frost flame flower.
As they delved deeper, the scorched earth beneath their feet gradually transformed into Flame Mountain, with flames bursting from the ground everywhere, linking together to form a thin carpet of fire.
None in the group were ordinary people, and as they stepped over it, the flames naturally parted ways.
The air was even hotter now; any deep breath would spark embers.
“This godforsaken place finally has an end.”
After a long distance, a Molten River appeared ahead.
Looking in the direction of the flowing molten river, at its end was a lake spanning over a thousand acres, with a white light on the other side reflecting into the sky, the color revealed by the frost.
Judging solely by the molten lake, this place undeniably had the highest concentration of Fire-type particles nearby.
The group quickly arrived at the lakeside of the molten lake.
“Wait a moment; I’ll check if there’s a frost flame flower here. If not, there’s no need for us to pass this way.” Solomon said gravely under the watchful eyes of the others.
After speaking, he pulled out an element heart, crystal clear, half fiery red and half frosty white.
Under his manipulation and refinement, it slowly transformed into a palm-sized ice-fire bird, with one half of its body flame and the other frost, its wings entwined with thunder and wisps of wind.
“Go!”
With a low shout from Solomon, the ice-fire bird flew swiftly towards the middle of the molten lake.
Witnessing this scene, Ivan couldn’t help but to marvel inwardly. To have such an Elemental Heart and means, which could subtly merge with the force field of the Nine-Color Pit, revealed how thoroughly prepared Solomon was.
Sending someone to investigate would definitely be a troublesome task.
Despite the Molten Lake looking calm and tranquil at the moment, compared to the previous chasms, this place was truly a treacherous land filled with danger.
From afar, Ivan watched the surface of the lake, where the Ice Fire Bird proceeded straight ahead, flying deep into the Molten Lake.
Suddenly, a Fire Column erupted from the lake, precisely enveloping the Ice Fire Bird within it. The next second, the Ice Fire Bird darted out from the Fire Column and continued to fly deeper.
After a narrow escape without harm, one mishap after another burst forth.
There were other Fire Columns, Magma Springs spurting, Violent Winds that whipped up from nowhere, and Lightning that fell from the sky.
Under the close watch of the group, the Ice Fire Bird ultimately couldn’t escape its doom, vanishing amidst the violent firestorm.
“We needn’t run about any longer, the Frost Flame Flower is right here.”
With an easy gesture, Solomon conjured a light screen in front of him, upon which an image of a peculiar flower reflected. The flower’s outer parts were a mix of ice and fire, one side ablaze with flames, the other exuding Frosty Air.
Most extraordinary was the heart of the flower, which, through a deep fusion of fire and Frosty Air, had turned into a flame burning with frost, emanating a bone-chilling coldness. Enjoy exclusive chapters from My Virtual Library Empire
Without a doubt, it was an exceptionally dazzling flower that captivated all who laid eyes on it.
“It truly is the Frost Flame Flower you’ve all been longing for, not only thriving in a place where ice and fire meet but also surrounded by thunderstorms, making its harvest no small feat.”
Doug watched closely around the Frost Flame Flower, his eyes filled with extra caution and a hint of hidden worry.
At just one glance, he could tell that the Frost Flame Flower grew in a spot where elemental powers clashed violently, with chaos all around, except where the rare flower stood, untroubled by any waves.
“Leave the harvesting to me; you all need to figure out how to fend off others and any creatures that might emerge from the lake. Indeed, the task isn’t easy,” Sorcerer Solomon said earnestly.
“Okay, I’ll do my best,” Doug replied with a wry smile.
“Likewise,” Ivan added tersely.
This was a place that made one’s skin crawl just looking at it. Had it not been for owing a great favor to Solomon, to be honest, he really didn’t want to wade into this murky water.
“I’m reassured to have your word,” Solomon knew they were men of their words and said nothing more.
“Shall we go directly?” Doug asked.
“No need to rush; the Frost Flame Flower hasn’t matured yet. It needs a little more time,” Solomon shook his head slightly.
Ivan and his companion didn’t understand the Frost Flame Flower, unable to tell if it had ripened or not. They took Solomon’s word for it and, while staying alert to their surroundings, quietly waited.
The Molten Lake was not small, and the figures of the other three groups weren’t visible around it. They were presumably lurking nearby, waiting for an opportunity.
Time ticked away, and the Molten Lake began to bubble on a large scale, followed by clusters of flames emerging. In no time, it became a sea of flames, with half-meter-high fires covering the entire lake.
In the sky, flames reddened the heavens.
One strange phenomenon after another happened incessantly, all indicating that something significant was about to occur.
“The sacred fire descends upon the world; sons of the Fire Spirit Tribe, come forth, join me in eradicating those Ice Slags!”
At one moment, a pair of giant arms emerged from the lake, followed by a huge figure that surfaced, issuing its Battle Call to the four corners of the world before even fully emerging.
At the fall of his words, figures began to crawl out from the lake.
These figures, made of fire and magma, were at least five meters tall, with the tallest reaching twenty or thirty meters. Their numbers quickly surpassed a thousand, forming a peculiar Army Formation.
“What’s happening?”
“I have no idea.”
This sight stunned those standing by the lake, including Sorcerer Solomon, who became dazed, his complexion darkening as he stared at the lake, evidently beyond his expectations.
