Someone Always Wants To Corrupt My Disciple
Chapter 70: Biological Miracle
In almost the blink of an eye, the scene before Yun Jiao changed.
The ground beneath her feet turned to polished jade, crystal clear like the fabled Crystal Palace. Everything around her was exquisitely crafted and dazzlingly beautiful, as if she’d stepped into some fantastical movie set.
It was utterly unfamiliar. She could only guess she’d been brought into some great hall.
“You are the mortal who once saved my son?”
A deep, commanding voice suddenly came from behind.
Yun Jiao turned.
On the main throne sat a man who looked about forty, dressed in a magnificent long robe, expression stern and regal. A strange, ornate bone crown rested upon his head. Around him swirled a thick, almost tangible azure aura—so dense it seemed to overflow.
…Demon qi?
Yun Jiao’s heart gave a sharp thump.
The man’s keen gaze swept her up and down, filled with scrutiny and suspicion.By his side stood a young man positively beaming with delight; the moment he saw her, a fluffy gray tail whooshed out behind him and wagged wildly—exactly the same kind of tail as the little fox she knew.
“Reporting to the Great King: this is the healer Yun from Qingyang Temple!”
The little fox dropped to his knees and cupped his fists. “Your humble servant has successfully brought her here!”
“…So kidnapping is called ‘inviting’ now?” Yun Jiao thought dryly.
The man on the throne—clearly the Demon King—only nodded slightly, though no joy touched his face; if anything, a flicker of irritation darkened his eyes.
“You’re certain she can cure the princess?”
“She definitely can!” the fox declared with utter conviction.
Yun Jiao: …Could you not promise things before I even see the patient?
“Doctor Yun is incredible!” the fox continued, brimming with enthusiasm. “She can heal anything!”
Stop raising flags for me! Yun Jiao screamed internally.
She stepped forward, calm but firm. “I am indeed a spirit healer. But I cannot promise anything until I examine the patient.”
“Hmph. You’d better be able to.” The Demon King remained unmoved by the fox’s flattery. His eyes hardened, and with a single snort a crushing aura swept toward her like a wave.
Yun Jiao’s expression darkened. Really? Medical malpractice in boss-battle form? Fail to cure and you’ll maim the doctor?
Being a physician these days was brutal.
Wait—did he just say Demon Realm?
So this man was…the Demon King himself?!
(⊙_⊙)
Straight to the final boss on first visit—wasn’t this plot progression a bit too fast?
Still, Yun Jiao’s face stayed perfectly composed, cool and unshaken.
The Demon King finally seemed satisfied, withdrawing his oppressive aura. At least this mortal seems reliable—better than most.
“Father!” the young man beside him protested softly, unhappy with the intimidation.
“Enough.” The Demon King rubbed his brow, weary. “None of you make things easy. Take her to see Li’er.”
“Yes, Father!”
The young man brightened, turned to Yun Jiao with a warm smile. “Doctor Yun, this way please.”
Unlike his cold, wary father, the prince was ridiculously enthusiastic—almost too enthusiastic.
“Doctor Yun, watch your step on the stairs!”
“Doctor Yun, the journey must’ve been tiring—would you like tea first?”
“Doctor Yun, it’s almost noon; have you eaten?”
“Doctor Yun, the bird tribe just delivered fresh spirit fruit, very sweet—would you like some?”
“Doctor Yun…”
He chattered nonstop like a sparrow, his crimson demon eyes fixed on her with unnerving intensity until Yun Jiao began to feel…slightly creeped out.
“…Young lord,” she finally interrupted, testing cautiously, “have we…met before?”
Instantly, the fluffy tail that had been sweeping behind him froze mid-air.
His whole posture wilted like a frostbitten eggplant; the light in his eyes sputtered out.
“You… don’t remember me?” he asked, crushed.
“Uh…” Somewhere in the air, Yun Jiao swore she heard something shatter.
At last the little fox jumped in, seizing his chance to explain.
“Doctor Yun, this is Prince Ji Chen!”
“…What?”
“Back when His Highness was wounded by demons and tainted with demonic qi, unable to return to the Demon Realm—you saved him!” the fox said, pointing toward his own stomach for emphasis.
Yun Jiao blinked, then realization hit. “You’re…that gray wolf?!” The one the fox had once brought to her.
Ji Chen’s face lit up with joy; he nodded quickly. “Yes. My true form is a wolf. Doctor Yun may just call me Ji Chen.”
She studied him. He’d been a wolf cub back then; now he looked roughly her own age.
“Thanks to Doctor Yun saving His Highness,” the fox added proudly, “he later brought me back to the Demon Realm so I could transform early.”
Ah—so that’s why the Demon King said she’d saved his son.
But they had another reason for fetching her here. “And this princess you want me to treat—what happened to her?”
Both demons fell silent, faces darkening. After a pause, Ji Chen spoke quietly:
“Li’er is my younger sister. She’s dying… because she lost her inner core.”
“…What?” Yun Jiao froze.
Every healer knew: a demon’s inner core holds its cultivation and spirit energy, like a human’s dantian. Lose it, and all power collapses—and worse for demons, even their intelligence can fade.
“Doctor Yun, come see for yourself.”
Ji Chen led her to a small, exquisitely crafted wooden pavilion, overflowing with flowers and fine jade furniture.
Yun Jiao couldn’t help inwardly groaning. Demon Realm is filthy rich. Meanwhile Qingyang Temple’s roof leaks every time it’s windy… life really isn’t fair.
They entered the innermost room.
On the bed lay a tiny, furry creature—jet-black fur, long slender tail, triangular ears twitching faintly. She seemed unconscious, sometimes letting out a faint, pained cry.
“Mrrrow…”
Yun Jiao: “…”
“…This is your sister?”
“Yes,” Ji Chen nodded firmly.
“…Your real sister?”
“Of course!”
“And… may I ask—your father, the Demon King—his true form is?”
“My father is the Wolf King, naturally.”
“And your mother?”
“She’s wolf clan as well.”
“You’re sure?”
“Absolutely sure.”
Yun Jiao: “…”
Biology teacher would like a word. Two wolves… and somehow produced a cat demon?
After a long silence, Yun Jiao inhaled deeply.
“One last question,” she said solemnly.
“Please, Doctor Yun.”
“Does your family perhaps have… a cat demon uncle living next door? Maybe surname Wang?”
Ji Chen: “…”
Fox: “…”
Neither understood what she meant, but for some reason both suddenly felt… inexplicably betrayed.
