Someone Always Wants To Corrupt My Disciple

Chapter 142: The Divine Healer Talent

“What is it?” Yun Jiao asked.

“Daoist Yun, please enter the hall first. I’ll explain everything in a moment,” said Hall Master Xu, stepping aside and guiding her and the old man toward the grand hall at the back.

When she entered, she realized that not only were the elders of the Celestial Masters Hall present, but also the heads and patriarchs of the Three Sects, Four Clans, and various noble families. The moment she and the old man stepped in, the hall, which had been filled with lively conversation, suddenly went silent. As if responding by instinct, everyone stood up at once.

“Greetings, Master Yun!” someone blurted out.

It was as if that one voice had flipped a strange switch—suddenly, every sect leader in the hall echoed in unison,

“Greetings, Master Yun!”

Their voices rang out loud and clear, reverberating through the entire hall.

Yun Jiao paused mid-step, feeling for a moment as if she had stepped back into her formation class. Out of reflex, she replied, “Hello, students!” Then, realizing something wasn’t right, she quickly added, “This isn’t class. Please, everyone, be seated.”

Everyone froze for a second before realizing—damn it, old habits die hard.

Their expressions were filled with indescribable awkwardness, but within moments they all regained composure. When everyone was embarrassed together, somehow it all felt… natural.

╮(╯▽╰)╭

Of course, two people in particular—those who had walked in with her—looked utterly conflicted.

Hall Master Xu: “…” Should he have greeted her too? He suddenly felt out of place.

The old man: “…” So this is part of the ritual now? Should he add it to his own class as well?

The three of them found seats together. Hall Master Xu cleared his throat and began explaining what had happened earlier.

“It’s like this, Daoist Yun. Besides inviting you to oversee the examination this time, there’s another matter—we’d like you to help us evaluate someone.” Hall Master Xu glanced at a nearby sect leader in green robes. “Recently, in Tianfang City near the Qiuhua Sect in the southwest, a remarkable individual appeared. If he could be brought into the Celestial Masters Hall, it would be a great boon for the entire sect.”

Yun Jiao thought for a moment, then said directly, “Could it be that he’s a spiritual healer?”

Hall Master Xu froze, surprised that she guessed it in one try, then nodded quickly. “Daoist Yun is correct—he is indeed a spiritual healer.”

“Oh.” Yun Jiao acknowledged calmly, then continued, “What sort of person is he? Why does he need to be tested separately?” After all, today was already the registration examination. Though spiritual healers were rare, it wasn’t as if none were participating. What made this person special?

“Master Yun might not know,” said the green-robed sect leader before Hall Master Xu could reply. “This person is no ordinary healer. I have never seen anyone with such medical skill. In one single night, he cured over a hundred people in the city.”

“Over a hundred people?” Yun Jiao was genuinely impressed. “Forgive me, but you are…?”

The man blinked, then quickly replied, “You might not remember me, Master Yun. I am Jin Shang, the head of the Qiuhua Sect. I once attended one of your lectures.”

“Oh, you’re Jin Shang!” Yun Jiao recalled, a few test papers flashing through her mind. “I remember—you were the one who scored fifty-nine on the final exam!”

Jin Shang: “…” Can we not talk about the score?

Everyone else: “…” Wait, someone almost passed? Traitor!

“Go on, tell me more about this person,” Yun Jiao urged.

Jin Shang continued, “The Qiuhua Sect is located in the southwest. The environment there is harsh, and we’re the only Celestial Sect branch across dozens of towns—our work is always overwhelming. Tianfang City, the farthest of them, recently experienced disturbances caused by resentful spirits. By the time we arrived, over a hundred townsfolk had already been invaded by dark energy.

“Our sect had no stationed spiritual healer, and the nearest sects were too far away—those people wouldn’t have survived long enough for help to arrive. Just when we didn’t know what to do, a young man suddenly appeared, claiming he could save them. I decided to let him try, thinking it couldn’t get worse. Unexpectedly, it worked. The dark energy vanished completely from every single person.

“And he did it all in one night—it was unbelievably fast.”

Jin Shang and his disciples had been stunned. Everyone knew that once dark energy invaded the body, it would generate deathly qi that consumed life force—it couldn’t be expelled quickly. Even an accomplished spiritual healer would need great effort and time. But this man had healed them all overnight.

“Not only that,” Jin Shang continued, “Tianfang City suffered several more incidents of spirit disturbance afterward. Some were injured, and one was even declared dead on the spot—but he revived him! His medical skill is so extraordinary that people there have begun calling him a ‘divine healer.’

“His surname is Qu—Qu Qiuming. I heard he’s a self-taught healer with no master. Since he never registered with the Celestial Masters Hall, I suggested he should.”

Hall Master Xu added, “The Celestial Sect is going through turbulent times, and there are signs of unrest in the underworld. Thankfully, Daoist Yun and Daoist Qingyang have shared your knowledge freely, teaching the world the true Way. Now anyone can learn advanced Daoist techniques. But among those, very few specialize in healing. If this man could join the Celestial Masters Hall as a Spiritual Healer Elder, and train more healers, our entire sect would surely flourish.”

His face glowed with hope, and the others in the hall were visibly stirred.

The state of the Celestial Sect today was something they couldn’t even have imagined a year ago. Top-tier techniques, supreme cultivation methods, celestial-grade formations, rare talismans—now anyone could study them. Learn what you want, practice what you wish, and if you didn’t understand something, someone would teach you. There was no hoarding of secrets, no hidden teachings, and certainly no bloodshed or greed for treasures.

In less than a year, all the sects of the Celestial Order had become like one family. Techniques once guarded as priceless treasures were now freely shared. Just shout in a communication talisman, and someone would send you a copy. As long as you wanted to learn, knowledge was always within reach.

And all of this change stemmed from the person before them.

When it came to supreme Daoist methods and unparalleled cultivation techniques, none could compare to those passed down by Qingyang. It was Yun Jiao’s example that made them realize how foolish it had been to hoard their sects’ teachings in secrecy.

They were cultivators sworn to exorcise demons and save the world—yet they’d kept the very means of salvation locked in their own hands. Was that not absurd?

Before long, every sect began freely sharing their “secret” manuals. What started as private exchanges between sects evolved into full openness—now, there was no such thing as an “exclusive” cultivation method in the Celestial Sect.

In fact, the disciples even created several secret chat groups for “sect manual sharing,” where everyone could request or trade techniques conveniently.

So when news spread of an extraordinary spiritual healer with miraculous skills, the immediate reaction of the Celestial Masters Hall and all the sect leaders was unanimous:

He’s a talent! Recruit him as a teacher! Pay him a salary! Charge tuition!
