Solaena's [Guided] Journey (Fantasy LitRPG)
Chapter 71
I remained in true communion.
A mere few hours had passed since I began attempting to peer through the sea of [Life] [Knowledge] [Guided] could summon to extract the first threads from which my [Vitality] proto-concept would eventually be woven.
I... believed I had found some.
Nothing conclusive.
Not even one [Insight] stable enough to structure anything.
Just hazy outlines.
The interdependence between every living process.
The capacity of [Life] to sustain itself through constant expenditure, replacement, adaptation, and controlled destruction.
The strange distinction between possessing energy and possessing the ability to transform that energy into continued existence.
They pretty much meant nothing at their current state of [Comprehension].
But they existed.
And after spending years unable to discern anything more tangible than vague possibilities regarding the formation of the [Vitality] Aspect, that alone made my first attempt successful.
Nevertheless, shortly after I commenced my first attempt, I had to temporarily quell my [Ambition].
Not because my energy ran out.
Not because I had reached the limits of what [Guided] could recall.
And certainly not because I was satisfied.
It was just...
My Essence had entered too peculiar a state for me to continue splitting my [Focus] between conceptualizing my proto-concept of [Vitality] and observing the two advancement disorders unfolding within it.
Both were [Worthy] of my entire [Focus].
And I eventually made a choice by allowing the ocean of [Life] [Knowledge] offered by [Guided] to recede.
Not that I allowed it to vanish entirely either.
[Guided] continued holding its broad structure at the edge of my [Awareness], preserving enough that I would not have to reconstruct the entire practice from nothing when I resumed.
But the pressure had diminished.
My [Ambition] had stopped blazing.
My [Will] no longer struggled to sustain more [Knowledge] than my mind ought to have accommodated.
That then left my now fluctuating [Clarity] free to consider what had just occurred.
What had caused my [Clarity] Aspect to advance?
The answer was hardly difficult to identify, whether hindsight was involved or not.
I had simply realized how thoroughly I had not been [Truth]ful to myself.
It had never been about the danger posed by my overdevelopment disorder.
That danger had always been real, and I had always been aware of it.
I had also never lied to myself about the necessity of my precautions.
Those precautions had prevented potentially crippling alterations to my Path, Essence corruption, or death.
What I had not been [Truth]ful to myself about...
Was how I felt regarding everything.
For more than two years, I had transformed my resentment into calculations.
I had hidden it beneath safety margins.
Essence development quotas.
Optimized periods of idleness.
Alternative studies.
Low-intensity [Cultivation]s.
Anything that allowed me to present every forced delay as merely another optimized part of my Path.
As though I had accepted the constraints.
As though I considered it unfortunate but ultimately tolerable.
As though the loss of years of potential advancements and Essence development didn't matter so long as I survived to reclaim that progress later.
That had never been the [Truth].
I hated it.
I hated every moment of restraint.
Every advancement I delayed.
Every [Insight] I refused to pursue.
Every impossible undertaking I abandoned before it truly became impossible because succeeding itself presented too much danger.
And the realization had struck something so integral to my existence that there was no returning from it.
I couldn't unknow it.
I could continue restraining myself.
I could continue following my safety margins.
I could spend weeks doing nothing but reviewing [Knowledge] I already possessed if that was what [Survival] required.
But I could no longer pretend I was content with any of it.
It was that distinction that lit my Path with such [Clarity] that my [Clarity] Aspect naturally mirrored it, pushing it beyond its previous bounds of simply being about [Clarity] of mind and onto what felt like an inkling of [Clarity] of self.
The advancement disorder reflected as much.
My [Clarity] Aspect had deepened into itself, drawing every conceptual expression associated with [Discernment], [Precision], [Lucidity], and the separation of what was from what merely appeared to be, into increasingly conceptual patterns.
Compared to some of the Aspect advancement disorders I had experienced, the process was relatively turbulent, and yet, no matter how intensively this advancement disorder rippled through my Essence...
No temporary disconnection occurred.
No periods where my thoughts dissolved into incomprehensible complexity transpired.
At no moment was my [Clarity] replaced with confusion.
My thoughts only grew clearer.
Better yet, every intense shift within my Essence only revealed another minute distinction in how the Aspect interacted with my mind, my [Awareness], my [Comprehension], and the rest of my Aspects.
Until, following one last concentrated surge, the changes settled.
Aspect Advanced: [Clarity] (Tier 0) ➞ [Clarity] (Tier 1)
Like that, after a mere few hours, the advancement disorder receded, leaving my [Clarity] Aspect undoubtedly both stronger and deeper as I experienced the changes in both Essence and mind.
Now, my [Clarity] did not merely allow me to separate my thoughts more precisely, it also granted me a broader sort of [Comprehension] of the structures formed between them.
The distinction between what I knew and what I merely inferred felt sharper.
The origins of my conclusions became easier to follow.
Contradictions that would once have required [Harmony] to isolate them and my subsequent deliberate examination now exposed themselves through minute irregularities in how they fit within the rest of my [Comprehension].
Even my fresh memories of the [Life] [Knowledge] I had just attempted—and mostly failed—to process appeared cleaner, their countless pieces no longer blending at their conceptual edges.
While experiencing all the other more subtle changes accompanying this advancement, I turned my [Focus] toward the other Aspect advancement disorder unfolding within my Essence.
That of my [Cultivation] Aspect.
In a sense, that advancement had only transpired due to luck.
Or, more accurately, due to one favorable manifestation of [Clarity]'s advancement disorder.
When my [Clarity] Aspect began advancing, it could have dysfunctioned.
My thoughts could have become muddled.
My ability to distinguish the countless fragments of [Life] [Knowledge] could have collapsed.
My entire [Vitality] conceptualization attempt could have ended before I even understood what was occurring.
Instead, my mental [Clarity] had momentarily heightened, even if I knew the heightening had been more figurative than objective
Still, that had allowed me to hold on.
For a time.
Then the pressure surpassed even what the temporary elevation of my [Clarity] could sustain.
The distinctions between memories had begun to blur.
My [Harmony] had faltered.
My [Will] had weakened.
The first threads of my [Vitality] proto-concept had started slipping beyond my grasp.
And I had refused to let them go.
So I had relied on everything.
Every Aspect.
Every synergy.
Every optimization I and [Guided] had uncovered over the years.
My [Clarity] separated the pieces.
My [Awareness] observed my body, mind, Essence, and the processes I was attempting to understand.
My [Comprehension] searched for the conceptual relationships between them.
My [Will] sustained the entire impossible burden.
My [Ambition] elevated that [Will] beyond what my energy should have supported.
My [Harmony] prevented the results from collapsing into contradiction.
My [Purity] preserved the distinction between what belonged to my proto-concept and what merely contaminated it with irrelevant assumptions.
And it was my [Cultivation] Aspect that had directed everything, not my [Harmony] Aspect, which could have appeared to be the Aspect most responsible for combining the effects of all the others.
And that was because my [Harmony] only truly intervened after a foundation had been established.
My [Harmony] Aspect did not decide what each Aspect ought to accomplish.
It did not refine their individual applications.
It did not identify which faculty required strengthening, which practice needed to be altered, or what sequence of efforts would most effectively advance the objective.
That was [Cultivation].
My [Cultivation] Aspect was my [Foundation].
It treated every Aspect, thought process, bodily function, and application as something that could be deliberately developed toward a chosen result.
Only after each had been directed and optimized did [Harmony] take those parts and integrate them into a coherent whole.
[Harmony] unified.
[Cultivation] first determined what was being unified and how every part needed to grow for that unification to serve a [Purpose].
And in my refusal to release the [Life] [Knowledge] drowning me, I had forced my [Cultivation] Aspect to apply itself across nearly the entirety of my Path simultaneously.
Not merely to my body.
Not merely to my sustained physiological [Cycle].
Not merely to a single Aspect or practice.
Everything.
The attempt had been brief.
Incomplete.
But evidently sufficient.
Now, as its Tier 2 advancement disorder unfolded, the Aspect's influence spread throughout my Essence in broad, irregular waves.
Unlike my [Clarity] Aspect, the onset of its Aspect advancement disorder had not sublimated its effects.
It had weakened them.
The moment the advancement began, my physiological [Cultivation] [Cycle] had lost efficiency and grown less stable.
The support it provided to my [Will] had diminished.
The countless individual efforts directed toward conceptualizing [Vitality] had become harder to sustain rather than easier.
I had initially fought against it.
Every weakening had been met by more [Will].
Every lapse in coordination had been corrected.
Every fragment of [Knowledge] that threatened to slip away had been seized and forced back into place.
But eventually...
I had relented.
Pursuing what was truly the equivalent of an intensive [Cultivation] while two Aspects advanced would have spent my Essence development quota for no proportionate return.
My [Clarity] Aspect advancement alone had already consumed a meaningful portion of my overdevelopment safety margin.
My [Cultivation] Aspect advancement promised to consume more.
Persisting at full intensity would only compound that development while my Essence was already undergoing changes I couldn't entirely predict.
An obvious loss.
One rendered even less acceptable by the fact that I had now restructured my entire Path around spending that quota as efficiently as possible.
So I relented.
And now I observed.
I learned.
Hours passed as I immersed myself in the strange timelessness of true communion.
And with the timing of it all, I didn't even need to report my condition or request leave from my duties.
More than ten hours remained before my next duty period.
No one expected me anywhere.
No procedure depended upon my presence.
No patient would be endangered by my absence.
I could dedicate the time entirely to myself.
I used it to revisit everything that had happened.
The first threads extracted from the sea of [Life] [Knowledge].
The role each Aspect had played.
The changes in my [Clarity].
The weakening produced by my [Cultivation] advancement.
The errors I had made.
The points where [Guided] had corrected them.
The precise moment when my [Ambition] had transformed a collapsing effort into something capable of continuing.
I examined it all.
Again.
Again.
Again.
Not with a frantic intensity, but with the same measured [Clarity] I wielded when dissecting recently deceased corpses to ascertain the cause of their death.
In the end, I had failed to accomplish what I initially intended.
I hadn't formed something even remotely close to a stable [Foundation] for my [Vitality] proto-concept.
I hadn't uncovered any principle that unquestionably defined [Vitality].
I hadn't even preserved most of the tentative connections that formed while I confronted the totality of my accumulated [Life] [Knowledge].
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Yet the results spoke for themselves.
Two Aspects directly involved in the formation of my future [Vitality] Aspect had advanced.
My [Clarity] Aspect.
My [Cultivation] Aspect.
And if I had my way...
They would not be the last.
Before long, after I dedicated everything I could of my newly advanced [Clarity] to refining my [Vitality] Aspect formation strategy, the disorder surrounding my [Cultivation] Aspect began to settle.
Its vast ripples diminished.
The conceptual agitation saturating every process related to what echoes with fragments of [Tempering], [Cycle], and [Exertion] drew inward.
Its weakening influence receded.
Then the Aspect stabilized.
Aspect Advanced: [Cultivation] (Tier 1) ➞ [Cultivation] (Tier 2)
The consequences were immediate.
The physiological [Cultivation] [Cycle] sustaining my physical vessel, which had spent the previous hours fluctuating between inefficiency and outright instability, corrected itself.
Every pull.
Every hold.
Every transformation.
Every distribution.
Every expulsion.
They resumed.
Then stabilized.
Then carried on with even less effort on my part.
I observed the process for multiple minutes, waiting for the tiny degradations that usually manifested whenever I totally withdrew my deliberate attention from maintaining it, resulting in it dispersing naturally in the span of a few hours.
None came.
Previously, maintaining my physiological [Cultivation] had required at least one background thought.
An insignificant commitment compared to the whole of my mind, particularly after [Guided] assumed the task for me, but a commitment nonetheless.
Some part of me always had to remember.
To monitor.
To adjust.
To ensure that the [Cultivation] [Cycle] sustaining my body didn't slowly deviate from its optimized form.
Even while I was asleep.
Now...
Nothing.
My [Cultivation] effortlessly passed the threshold of being passive.
It continued because continuing had become its natural state.
Not an action I repeatedly performed.
Not a practice I maintained in the background.
A function of my existence.
Like breathing had once been.
Only even breathing no longer possessed that distinction, having long ago been incorporated as another adjustable part of my broader physiological [Cultivation].
My energy flowed.
My body sustained itself.
My Essence supported both.
And I didn't have to think about any of it.
Simply from that improvement, it was evident that my Tier 2 [Cultivation] Aspect had incurred such massive changes that it would take me more than a mere few hours to grasp all of them.
From the future development of my body to that of my mind, my Aspects, my practices, [Knowledge]...
Every one must have been affected in some manner.
Oh well.
I would experience those consequences soon enough.
For now, I returned my [Focus] to the matter that couldn't be postponed.
My overdevelopment safety margin.
I traced the advancement ripples outward.
Counted the density events that had manifested during the past hours.
Compared the present structure of my Essence to the state I remembered from before beginning the [Vitality] conceptualization attempt.
Projected the likely development that would continue accumulating while both advanced Aspects fully settled.
Then I calculated how long I would have to restrain myself.
Weeks...
Multiple weeks of truly idling before my safety margin returned to the state I considered acceptable for another intensive [Cultivation].
An aggravating result.
An expected one, however.
At least, unlike the periods of restraint that had previously been inflicted upon me without producing anything proportional to their cost, this one had purchased two Aspect advancements.
I could tolerate it.
I would tolerate it.
Until the day came that I no longer had to.
I sorted through my Essence one final time.
[Guided] (Origin)
[Cultivation] (Tier 2)
[Comprehension] (Tier 0)
[Awareness] (Tier 2)
[Secrecy] (Tier 0)
[Will] (Tier 3)
[Clarity] (Tier 1)
[Harmony] (Tier 1)
[Ambition] (Tier 0)
[Purity] (Tier 0)
My Path had once more taken major steps forward.
Giant's steps compared to my first steps.
Yet insignificant ones compared to the strides I would make the day I swept my overdevelopment disorder away.
With that last thought sparking my [Ambition] yet again, I ceased communing with my Essence.
The secluded alcove gradually returned to my [Awareness].
The table beneath my cushion.
The thin partition.
The soft ambient light.
The distant movements of Aspirants throughout the floor.
A few hours remained before I needed to reassume my duties.
Too little time for sleep.
More than enough to continue working.
So I resumed assembling my [Vitality] proto-concept.
At the lowest, most idle intensity I could manage.
I didn't attempt to summon the sea of [Life] [Knowledge again.
I didn't ignite my [Ambition].
I didn't manifest my [Will] in any way.
Instead, I turned to the most boring and time-intensive parts of the endeavor.
Classifications.
Reviews.
The elimination of obvious irrelevancies.
Separating species-specific biological functions from principles that could potentially apply to [Life] as a whole.
Distinguishing potential expressions of health from potential expressions of [Vitality].
Identifying the assumptions within my existing definitions.
Listing every contradiction I had encountered without attempting to resolve any of them.
Intellectual efforts that demanded time, patience, and attention to detail, more than anything else.
Intellectual efforts that resulted in quasi-insignificant Essence development thanks to years' worth of Essence development wasted on optimizing my use of idle time.
Perfect for my circumstances.
Then the clock informed me it was time to once more act as Xafsa's personal aide.
As I left the alcove and commenced my descent to the treatment floors, [Guided] informed me of the possibility that exposing too much progress too early could prompt those responsible for my incentive program to increase its difficulty.
As such, perhaps forming my [Vitality] Aspect faster would only cause them to impose additional thresholds before granting me access to the promised [Knowledge].
Or perhaps they would decide my present objectives were insufficiently demanding.
Or maybe nothing would change.
No [Knowledge] existed from which I could derive a reliable conclusion.
So [Guided] made the logical choice of making me appear normal.
I was [Guided] to maintain my flight speed within the range I had established over the previous months.
I was [Guided] to make my preparation routine follow the same sequence.
I was [Guided] to make my reports maintain the same degree of detail.
I was [Guided] to reinforce my [Awareness] only when procedures justified it.
I was [Guided] to answer questions with the same amount of time as I usually took.
Altogether, I was [Guided] to make no effort to demonstrate the heightened efficiency of my [Cultivation] Aspect or the improved precision of my [Clarity].
In any event, nothing had fundamentally changed.
Not yet.
I remained a trial Aspirant.
Xafsa remained a Restorer whose [Mastery] of [Life] and healing so thoroughly exceeded mine that two Aspect advancements couldn't bridge any meaningful fraction of the distance between us.
My duties remained the same.
The only genuine difference was that my [Ambition] was no longer directionless.
It had a target.
A concrete objective toward which every resource could be directed.
And it stood ready to explode at the slightest opportunity to advance my agenda.
An opportunity such as refining my [Mastery] of a healing procedure.
Or improving my [Mastery] over the questions Xafsa used to expose gaps in my [Comprehension].
Or furthering my [Mastery] of maintaining the veil of [Secrecy] concealing how aggressively I had restructured my Essence development.
So I worked.
Observed.
Diagnosed.
Was corrected.
Understood why.
Adjusted.
Repeated.
Then days began to pass.
Followed by weeks.
Then months.
My Path narrowed around one objective.
Forming the [Vitality] Aspect.
Everything unrelated fell to the wayside.
My [Guided] subsumption research.
The prospect of discovering how to temporarily surrender greater portions of myself to my Origin Aspect remained fascinating.
Potentially transformative.
But presently irrelevant and inconsequential.
I ceased working on rewriting and drafting new chapters for "The Nascence Of Solaena".
My research into the [Mystery] Aspect stopped as well.
So did my preliminary inquiries into the likes of [Knowledge], [Truth], [Domain], and the countless other concepts that had once occupied corners of my long-term Path planning.
They could wait.
Everything could wait.
Only the activities requiring minimal [Exertion] remained.
I continued maintaining a semblance of relationships with the other trial Aspirants and Aspirants I had come to know.
A few conversations.
Shared repository periods.
Brief exchanges to exchange on the procedures we witnessed.
Occasional questions about what they were studying or which duties they had been assigned.
Nothing deep.
Enough to prevent those relationships from dissolving through total neglect and seeming indifference
I also ventured outside the Pulse Tower every so often.
Not for leisure.
I performed brief tours through nearby districts in search of serendipitous [Inspiration].
A species I hadn't encountered.
A biological practice absent from the Aspirant repositories.
A form of healing integrated into local infrastructure.
An unexpected expression of [Life] that might provide one more fragment relevant to [Vitality].
Most tours produced nothing.
Some produced a question.
That was sufficient to justify continuing them at low frequency.
Beyond those minimal efforts...
There was only...
[Mastery].
[Vitality].
My duties.
And the restraint imposed by my overdevelopment safety margin.
Whenever I couldn't actively dwell upon my [Vitality] proto-concept while assisting Xafsa, I dedicated every second to [Mastery].
Not merely repeating procedures.
Not merely seeking flawless outcomes.
I observed why each action worked.
Which parts were essential.
Which existed solely because of the patient's species.
Which could be altered.
Which apparent imperfection had no effect upon the result.
Which perfect execution would fail under different circumstances.
When Xafsa corrected me, I didn't merely memorize the correction.
I sought the principle that made it correct.
When it demonstrated a procedure, I didn't merely reproduce the sequence.
I endeavored to understand what each step accomplished, what alternatives could have achieved the same result, and why Xafsa had selected that particular method for that particular patient.
When a procedure succeeded despite one of my predictions being wrong, I treated that success as a failure.
When it failed despite my reasoning being sound, I searched for the variable I hadn't known existed.
Again.
Again.
And over again.
Even while idling.
Especially while idling.
When my overdevelopment safety margin narrowed too far for meaningful [Cultivation], I no longer dispersed my attention across unrelated research.
I studied the least Essence-development-intensive facets of [Mastery] and [Vitality].
Historical definitions.
Terminological disputes.
Case reports whose principles I already mostly understood.
Comparisons between technical and conceptual [Mastery].
Records of entities who had failed to form [Vitality] despite possessing the necessary biological [Knowledge].
Reviews.
Repetitions.
Reorganizations of everything I had already learned.
I examined old [Insight]s from new angles in the hope of reducing the burden of my next intensive session by even a single connection.
One [Insight].
One eliminated misconception.
One fragment already placed where it belonged.
Anything that allowed my next ignition of [Ambition] to begin a fraction further ahead on this titanic endeavor.
Then my safety margin would recover.
And I would burn it.
My [Ambition] ignited.
My [Will] caught aflame.
My newly advanced [Clarity] stripped away every distraction.
My [Cultivation] Aspect directed every faculty toward advancement.
I summoned [Life] [Knowledge].
Tested it.
Integrated what survived.
Discarded what didn't.
Pushed until my Essence approached the limits I had established.
Then stopped.
Waited.
Reviewed.
Prepared.
Each intensive period produced something.
Not always what I sought.
A physiological resistance improvement.
A deeper [Comprehension] of one biological process.
A refinement to my use of [Harmony].
An advancement in how my [Purity] separated foundational [Vitality] principles from concepts that merely accompanied healthy [Life].
Sometimes, all I acquired was the [Knowledge] that an entire line of reasoning had been wrong.
Under that [Cultivation] routine, and massively helped by the repurposing of my every precedent even slightly related [Insight] toward elucidating the concept of [Mastery]...
I drew closer.
Inevitably.
Inexorably.
Something accumulated.
Procedure after procedure.
Correction after correction.
Every adjustment required to continue advancing without crossing the threshold into dangerous overdevelopment.
Every instance where greater effort produced a worse result.
Every moment where an apparently inefficient approach proved optimal because the actual objective differed from what it first appeared to be.
All of it converged.
Then, following my twenty-first sleep since entering the Everwell Sector, I woke with my overdevelopment safety margin restored to an acceptable state.
A week and a half had passed since my latest ignition of [Ambition].
My Essence had settled.
My physical state was perfect.
My thoughts possessed the sharp [Clarity] that followed proper rest.
Rest that had also been optimized thanks to my physiological [Cultivation] [Cycle] no longer requiring any thought to be maintained, allowing my mind to completely shut down when I fell asleep.
My waking routine was over in a flash.
Body.
Communion.
Safety margin.
No unexpected anomaly presented itself.
So I left my room and headed toward the Aspirant repositories.
As I flew, I aimlessly reflected on optimization.
How relentlessly I pursued it.
How every practice became something to refine.
Every action something to make more efficient.
Every routine something to strip of unnecessary effort.
Even when such optimization wasn't warranted.
Even when the time and thought spent improving something exceeded everything the improvement would ever return.
That was hardly a new realization.
I had long known that my tendencies occasionally pushed me toward optimizing what didn't matter.
But this time...
Something felt different.
I caught the thought before it could disappear.
Stopped.
Landed on the nearest platform jutting from the pristine white wall of the Pulse Tower.
Then dedicated my entire [Focus] to it.
Why did optimizing something that didn't warrant optimization feel relevant to [Mastery]?
It appeared to be the opposite.
Waste masquerading as improvement.
An inability to distinguish between what could be refined and what should be refined.
Not [Mastery].
A deficiency in it.
My [Will] elevated my [Clarity] to its limits.
Pieces of [Insight] flooded my mind.
Repetition wasn't [Mastery].
Success wasn't [Mastery].
Perfection wasn't [Mastery].
Not by themselves.
And neither was optimization.
Because optimization without the [Clarity] to understand one's objective could only perfect the wrong thing.
The procedure could become faster while growing less reliable.
The expenditure of energy could decrease while the risk of failure increased.
Every movement could become flawless while the underlying principle remained misunderstood.
[Mastery] wasn't the endless refinement of an [Exertion].
It was command over what made the [Exertion] serve its intended [Purpose].
Knowing what required optimization.
What could be ignored.
What had to remain flexible.
What degree of precision the result actually demanded.
When further improvement ceased to be improvement.
I grasped the distinction.
Refused to let it fade.
Pushed it deeper.
And there...
I touched something.
My [Mastery] of [Cultivation].
Not the ability to develop myself as quickly as possible.
My overdevelopment disorder had made that impossible.
It had forced me to learn something more complicated.
How to develop exactly what I intended.
No more.
No less.
I had learned to isolate individual [Cultivation]s.
To distinguish incidental Essence development from purposeful advancement.
To control intensity.
Duration.
Recovery.
To determine when pushing further would provide meaningful progress and when it would only consume my safety margin.
To abandon a practice at the moment success became less valuable than the consequences of attaining it.
To adapt every routine to the present state of my body, mind, Essence, environment, and Path.
My overdevelopment disorder hadn't allowed me to rely on effort alone.
I couldn't carry the [Cultivation] of everything.
I had to choose.
Understand.
Prioritize.
Regulate.
I had to know what I was developing, why I was developing it, how the process produced that development, and when the same process ceased serving its [Purpose].
That was more than optimization.
That was...
[Mastery].
And...
I had applied the same principle throughout my Path.
My healing.
Not reproducing [Guided]'s instructions, but understanding enough to adapt them when the anatomy changed.
My [Secrecy].
Not merely remaining unseen, but controlling what could be perceived, by whom, and under which circumstances.
My flight.
Not moving as quickly as possible, but adjusting speed, altitude, posture, energy expenditure, and risk according to the journey.
My studies.
Not accumulating the greatest quantity of [Knowledge], but identifying what [Knowledge] served my present objective and how deeply it needed to be understood.
Even my present pursuit of [Vitality].
I wasn't merely forcing progress.
I was constructing the conditions under which progress became possible.
The chaotic pieces aligned.
My accumulated [Comprehension] of [Mastery].
The corrections Xafsa had imposed.
The advanced texts.
The distinction between procedures and principles.
The adaptability demanded by true competence.
The constraints that had forced my [Cultivation] to become precise instead of merely relentless.
The way that precision had unknowingly spread throughout everything I did.
My Essence reacted.
An unmistakable pulse passed through my existence.
I slipped into true communion before its first ripple finished spreading.
There was no synthesis disorder.
No existing Aspect began dissolving.
No concepts were torn from one part of my Path to be recombined into another.
This was the onset of an Aspect formation phenomenon.
My second pure Aspect formation phenomenon.
The concept of [Mastery] I had touched manifested within my Essence.
Through its every expression of deliberate command.
Through every process understood deeply enough to be adapted.
Through every action refined according to its [Purpose].
The ripples converged.
And from it something new emerged.
Aspect Formed: [Mastery] (Tier 0)
It took only minutes.
Then the Aspect formation disorder settled, leaving my new Aspect rooted within my Essence as though it had always been there.
And like that...
I had acquired the last missing critical piece required to efficiently form my [Vitality] Aspect.
[Guided] (Origin)
[Cultivation] (Tier 2)
[Comprehension] (Tier 0)
[Awareness] (Tier 2)
[Secrecy] (Tier 0)
[Will] (Tier 3)
[Clarity] (Tier 1)
[Harmony] (Tier 1)
[Ambition] (Tier 0)
[Purity] (Tier 0)
[Mastery] (Tier 0)
Eleven Aspects.
One Origin Aspect.
Ten Path Aspects.
Not exceptional as far as a Path still in its emergence phase was concerned.
But relative to my age...
And accounting for how every single Aspect held long-term [Purpose]s I had explicitly calculated for...
The [Foundation] I had planned for and that my Path required was finally coming into being.
I was now only missing one thing.
The Pulse of Eternity's solutions to loosen my overdevelopment disorder endlessly pestering grasp upon my Path.
