Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 666: You Don’t Want Me, and I Don’t Want You
Evelyn’s legs were trembling; she ran out in distress and didn’t look at the road at all.
Only now did she realize how much she regretted it.
She should have hidden in her bedroom and waited until dawn to leave!
Now it’s too late; she wanted to go back, but disastrously found herself lost.
Evelyn was so scared she didn’t even dare to cry.
Because whenever she made a sound, echoes surrounded her.
In this pitch-black forest, echoing cries were simply terrifying!
Unable to find her way, with nobody around, Evelyn could only grit her teeth and keep moving forward.
The more she walked forward, the more she felt exhausted.
Before the car accident, Evelyn never felt any pressure with walking.
But now, she was utterly spent, completely powerless, her legs weak.
Adding to her inner fear, she collapsed to the ground, hugging herself tightly, as tears silently fell.
Why?
What unforgivable things had she done for Caden Lockwood to treat her like this?
She hated him so much!
She never wanted to see him again!
She decided that once she returned, she would pack up and leave with Aunt May and Kiki!
So Caden Lockwood doesn’t want her?
Hmph!
She didn’t want him either!
Evelyn gritted her teeth angrily, but she couldn’t stop the sadness inside her.
The thought of leaving the home she was used to, leaving the man she was so familiar with, made her reluctant.
Honestly, she wasn’t brave enough!
She still hoped... that Caden Lockwood would come looking for her, that he would take her home.
She inadvertently looked behind her; where was Caden Lockwood’s shadow?
At this moment, Caden was surely having a great time with Eleanor Keaton in the study!
Taking a deep breath, Evelyn wiped her tears, stood up, and continued forward.
Strange and eerie sounds occasionally reached her ears, her heart always hung at her throat, "Thump" "Thump", as if it were about to leap out.
She was so afraid!
"Husband..." Evelyn was trembling all over, "Boo-hoo—I’m lost!"
Her legs were so weak she could barely walk.
The surroundings grew darker, the moon obscured by clouds; in this desolate place, she leaned against a tree to rest, but always felt like unseen hands would reach out and drag her mercilessly into hell.
Though she didn’t fear ghosts, in such a place, she couldn’t help but feel timid.
Evelyn didn’t understand how, during the day, she had been so joyful playing with Caden Lockwood, feeling his love and care.
How suddenly, he was so unfeeling?
Could it be that there were two Caden Lockwoods in this world?
Or perhaps, he had a twin who looked identical?
The nighttime Caden Lockwood must be someone else!
Evelyn felt both despondent and terrified, clenched her fists, and yelled at the air, "Why scare me! Whether you’re a demon or a monster, show yourself! Does scaring me help? Just show up and kill me! Anyway... even if I die, I won’t let you go!"
After shouting, Evelyn looked around but saw no reaction.
"So... since I called you and you didn’t come out, don’t appear then!" Evelyn bargained, "Really! I’ve never done anything bad growing up. If you’re going to harm someone, harm the bad ones! Once the bad people are gone, leaving the good ones, the world will be beautiful!"
With that, Evelyn patted her wildly thumping heart, comforted herself a bit, realized staying here wouldn’t work, so she continued moving forward.
No matter where she’d end up, as long as she kept moving forward, there would always be a way!
