Chapter 304: 70000 Blood Iron Tokens

SHATTER—!!!

With the death of its caster, the dense crimson mist of the Domain of Slaughter instantly lost its foundational support.

It broke apart like fragile glass, dissolving into millions of dissipating red sparks.

Sensing the collapse of his opponent’s power, Rhain slowly lowered his hand.

WHOOSH.

The scorching sphere of the Origin Domain of Fire rapidly receded, drawing back into his body.

For the past several minutes, the spectators had only been able to vaguely see the collisions happening within the interwoven domains.

Now, the clear picture of the arena was finally exposed to them.

Every single spectator leaned over the railings, their eyes desperately straining to see the outcome.

Standing perfectly upright in the center of the scorched, cratered arena was the man wearing the demonic Asura mask.

And lying motionlessly at his feet, was the towering, nine-foot-tall behemoth of a man.

His colossal battleaxe lay discarded several feet away from his limp hand.

A hole had been drilled straight through the center of his heavy iron mask and out the back of his skull, leaving a pool of dark blood and brain matter rapidly expanding beneath his head.

Bloodaxe.

The undefeated executioner of the Gold Rank 2 tier.

He was dead.

"HE’S DEAD! BLOODAXE IS DEAD!"

"ASURA KILLED HIM! A SILVER RANK 1 KILLED BLOODAXE!"

The stands instantly descended into a state of madness.

For the vast, overwhelming majority of the masked killers in the arena—the thousands who had confidently piled their entire fortunes onto the "sure thing" of a Level 6 Domain Maste, it was a nightmare.

"NO! MY TOKENS! ALL MY BLOOD-IRON TOKENS!" A burly man dropped to his knees in the stands, tearing at his own hair as he sobbed hysterically. "I bet everything! I pawned my ancestral weapons to bet on Bloodaxe! I am ruined! Ruined!"

"How could a Level 6 Domain Master lose to a Silver Rank 1 bug?! This is a rigged match! It has to be an illusion!" another spectator shrieked, coughing up blood from the sheer shock and rage of losing his entire life’s savings."

"Get up, Bloodaxe, you useless piece of trash! Get up and fight!"

More than ninety-five percent of the spectators had placed astronomical bets on Bloodaxe, fully convinced that the veteran executioner would effortlessly squash the arrogant newcomer.

To them, it was supposed to be a guaranteed return.

Now, their greed had stripped them of everything they owned.

But for a small handful of rogue cultivators and desperate gamblers who had recklessly bet their life savings on the impossible twelve-to-one odds for Asura, it was a moment of pure ecstasy.

"HAHAHAHA! I’M RICH! I AM FILTHY RICH!" a man wearing a boar mask shrieked as he hugged the stranger next to him. "ASURA! THE DEMON WON! ASURA IS A GOD!"

"ASURA! ASURA! ASURA!"

The chanting began, it was filled with profound, fear and reverence.

Up in the middle rows, Rhain’s six subdued Domain Master slaves stared down at the arena floor, their bodies completely bathed in cold sweat.

Because they were bound by the Heavenly Vow, their very souls were tied to Rhain’s life. If he had perished in Bloodaxe’s hands, their souls would have shattered in the exact same second.

But seeing their Master standing victorious over the corpse of Bloodaxe, a collective exhale of relief filled all of them.

"He won..." Skullcrusher muttered, his voice slightly hazy as if he was still trying to figure out if what he was seeing was real or not.

Deathblade looked at Rhain’s upright figure. The fear in his heart rapidly turned into reverence, "We were fools to ever doubt him. To possess two distinct Domains at the first level of the Core Formation Realm... Master is not human."

To follow a master with this level of power... perhaps becoming his slave wasn’t a curse, but the greatest karmic fortune they had ever encountered.

Far above from them, the Nine Seats of the Crucible Throne watched the aftermath with calm and solemn eyes.

They were not shocked by the outcome in the slightest.

"As expected," the fifth Seat spoke, "Anyone who can forge two distinct Domains while still at the Core Formation Realm is an anomaly of the highest order. He would not die a nameless death in these pits."

"To kill a Level 6 Domain Master while being only at the third level of the Core Formation Realm..." the Third Seat let out a sharp exhale. "He really is a little monster."

The older Seats nodded in grim agreement. They had crawled through mountains of corpses to reach their thrones, and they knew how to recognize a true monster when they saw one.

At the far end of the table, the handsome, white-robed young man looked down at Rhain standing in the arena, a rare glint of genuine appraisal flashing in his arrogant eyes.

"Not bad," the Ninth Seat murmured lazily, leaning his chin on his knuckles. "To master two supreme laws at such a low realm... he could actually be considered a prodigy even back in my region."

The older Seats exchanged subtle glances.

Whenever the Ninth Seat spoke, he always made offhand references to a place that was clearly not within the boundaries of the Solathane dynasty.

There were just unsure, whether he was talking about some other dynasty, or a place that was even beyond the dynasties.

First Seat uncrossed his massive arms.

"We will not interfere with him for now," the First Seat’s deep, rumbling voice echoed with authority. "But we must keep a close eye upon him."

The other Seats nodded in silent agreement.

Down in the blistering arena, the referee hovered downward.

He was shaking so much he could barely keep his balance.

"W-Winner of the Blood-Oath Death Duel... ASURA!" the referee shrieked, trying to sound calm.

Rhain did not bother to acknowledge the cheers or the wails of the crowd.

Following the ironclad rules of a Blood-Oath Death Duel, there was no designated wager.

The victor automatically claimed the entire life fortune of the loser.

Rhain walked leisurely toward Bloodaxe’s corpse.

He casually reached down and pulled the spatial ring off the dead man’s thick finger.

With a thought, Rhain swept his vast Spiritual Sense into the ring.

And for a brief moment, Rhain’s face showed a look of surprise beneath the demonic mask.

Inside the expansive spatial dimension of the ring were literal mountains of Blood-Iron Tokens.

Bloodaxe was a ruthless butcher who had slaughtered his way through the Gold Rank 2 tier for years, pillaging the wealth of countless Domain Masters.

"Fifty thousand," Rhain murmured inwardly, his heart skipping a beat.

Adding the massive wager from the fight, the payouts from his previous victories, and the fortunes of his six slaves, his total wealth had just skyrocketed to an incomprehensible seventy thousand Blood-Iron Tokens!

Seven hundred billion Aetherium Crystals worth of currency!

A rsatisfied smirk brushed past his lips.

"This should be more than enough for the secret auction," Rhain calculated coldly.

With a swirl of his dark robes, Rhain turned his back on the corpse of the fallen giant.

He walked leisurely out of the colosseum gates, followed by his six slaves.
