Chapter 2444: Seeping out

Seeing the crowd in front of me, I couldn’t help shaking my head and letting out a sigh.

I already knew that those smaller countries were already very enthusiastic about this, but it seemed like I had underestimated just how enthusiastic they were.

It seemed like they were sending out their full force just to deal with this corruption energy outbreak. In fact, it even seemed like they might clash with each other at this rate since there wasn’t enough corruption energy for all of them.

With how many of them there were, it even seemed like they were bullying the corruption energy. It was as if the corruption energy was completely surrounded and didn’t have a single place to run.

This was a good problem to have, but it was a bit awkward to watch as they postured against each other.

It seemed like all of the soldiers were doing all that they could to be the ones that actually went forward to attack the corruption energy.

All of them wanted this real experience to test out the powers that they had gained during this time.

But they were still soldiers in the end and they would wait until they received the order to actually do anything.

As for the one that actually controlled everything here...

"It seems like they’re raring to go." I couldn’t help shaking my head and thinking to myself when I saw them all looking at me.

This was one of the conditions that I put forward to the racial alliance.

It was to give me the right to assume command of the operation.

They were a bit hesitant about this at first, but then they calmed down when I promised that I would make this operation a success. If I were to promise something like this, they had no choice but to back down.

With my status, this wasn’t some kind of empty promise.

At the same time, they would naturally feel better with someone like me at the helm watching over everything. If something did go wrong, they would feel assured at having someone like me watching over their soldiers and protecting them.

But it was clear that they were feeling anxious and that they wanted to make their move.

Seeing this, it didn’t seem like I could stall for much longer.

I took one last look at the place that the corruption energy was coming from.

It was far away, but I was able to see it quite clearly.

"It seems to be seeping out of the opening? It’s almost as if there’s something that’s pushing it out from the inside."

Regardless of what it was, it was a fact that this was a place where corruption energy was leaking out. So even if we wanted to investigate the place that the corruption energy was coming from, it would have to wait until we finished clearing out the corruption energy.

"Alright, you can start."

As soon as this order was given, they wasted no time at all as they charged forward.

It was like watching a bunch of raiders charging forward to see who would be first to claim the prize with how they kept pushing against each other. But of course, they were also all professional soldiers and it wasn’t as if they would cause chaos.

Even if they charged forward like a mob, they were still a ruly mob that caused no problems at all.

As they approached, it seemed like the corruption energy sensed the danger that came from them. Which was why the corruption energy suddenly started to stir before corruption energy monsters came out of them.

None of the corruption energy monsters were able to last a single blow.

These corruption energy monsters were nothing more than normal corruption energy monsters. So in the face of the weapons made from divine energy, they were cut down like wheat.

"No, it’s a bit too easy..."

As I was watching the fighting, I couldn’t help feeling that it was strange that the corruption energy monsters were going down that quickly. It even felt like they were weaker than normal corruption energy monsters.

"It’s almost as if they were weakened by something before seeping out of the ground like this."

The more that I watched, the more curious I was about what was hidden under the ground. After all, it was clearly something that had an effect on the corruption energy or else the corruption energy monsters wouldn’t have been this weak.

With the soldiers mowing down the corruption energy monsters, it didn’t take long for them to make it to the main part of the corruption energy.

Even in this main part that was still spawning the corruption energy monsters, it didn’t seem like they had a problem.

Whether it was the corruption energy monsters or the corruption energy on the ground, it wasn’t as if they stood a chance against the divine energy weapons. At this point, it was even considered overkill to use all of this against them.

It didn’t take any time at all for the soldiers to purify the corruption energy and reach the source of it. But even as they continued purifying it, it didn’t seem like they were going to put an end to the amount that was pouring out.

It felt like there was an endless amount of corruption energy that just continued seeping out of the ground.

"The way that it’s coming out, it’s almost as if there’s something that’s pushing it out of the hole."

The more that I observed this, the more that I felt that I had been right about this.

It really seemed like there was something that was going on beneath the ground that was affecting the corruption energy.

"Move aside."

The soldiers were surprised to see me coming forward, but they still moved out of the way to let me through.

When I reached the hole, I didn’t hesitate to pull out the orb and shove a ton of divine energy into it.
