"Fortunately, you’re smart enough to finally make the right choice. Now tell me, how many of you came in total?"

The assassin’s throat rolled slightly. Now that he had already betrayed his master, there was no need to conceal anything else. He might as well answer everything.

"In total... twelve of us came."

Han Lei’s eyebrows slightly raised, and a cold smile appeared at the corner of her mouth: "Are all of you here to assassinate Zhao Zun?"

The assassin nodded, "Yes."

Han Lei’s gaze grew colder, and she continued to ask, "Where are they staying now?"

The assassin shook his head, a hint of helplessness in his eyes: "I only know where the five of us are staying, at the Jinghua Inn. I don’t know about the others."

Upon hearing this, Han Lei glanced at Hua Tianyou standing beside her, and they both saw a trace of seriousness in each other’s eyes.

Two are already caught here, which means there are three more at Jinghua Inn, and the remaining seven are still hidden in the shadows, ready to launch a deadly strike against Zhao Zun at any moment.

Thinking of this, a trace of murderous intent flashed through Han Lei’s eyes.

She knew very well that Zhao Zun’s situation was still dangerous. If the assassin at Jinghua Inn returned, the mastermind behind it—Champion Marquis—would not easily give up.

Perhaps Champion Marquis would turn to eliminate her, and find a way to elevate Changle.

Since Champion Marquis wants their lives, don’t blame her for being unkind in return.

After Zhao Zun rises, the four major families will ultimately have to be dealt with. So why not seize this opportunity to strike at Champion Marquis’s family to make a statement.

Han Lei turned around and solemnly instructed Hua Tianyou.

"Tianyou. Leave the three at Jinghua Inn to me. You immediately go to the cement factory; send a trusted aide right away to notify Zhao Zun, have them armed and alert at all times. Then send a few more trusted aides over, I need manpower here."

Hua Tianyou nodded seriously, "Yes! I’m going right away. Be careful yourself."

Han Lei nodded, watching Hua Tianyou hurriedly leave.

Then, she turned to look at the elderly lady standing nearby, her tone softened.

"Mom, I’ll first ensure your safety, leave other matters to me. Don’t worry, I won’t let anything happen to everyone."

"Lei’er, what are you planning to do?"

The elderly lady grew tense as she asked, worry instantly gripping her as she took hold of Han Lei’s hand.

"Although Champion Marquis is hateful, he holds high power and military command. You absolutely mustn’t act recklessly! I just hope you can be safe and sound."

Upon hearing this, warmth filled Han Lei’s heart.

"Mom, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing." Han Lei smiled slightly.

The elderly lady lovingly patted the back of her hand, her eyes full of concern and trust: "Good! I trust you. You also must stay safe and not let me worry."

"Hmm!" Han Lei nodded, gripping the elderly lady’s hand tightly.

Han Lei removed the liquid and blood transfusion needle from the assassin’s wrist and summoned a few servants, giving each an electric baton and teaching them how to use it.

Then, she instructed them to guard the assassin in pairs, taking turns, while she assisted the elderly lady back to her room to rest.

After all this commotion, the night outside was already deep, but Han Lei felt no sleepiness.

The assassin wanted Zhao Zun’s life, now she wanted the assassin’s life in return.

She purchased a set of nightwear and enough tools from the system.

The black cloth clung to her body, as if it could merge with the night itself.

Once everything was ready, she took a deep breath and quietly stepped into the night.

Fufeng County’s streets appeared exceptionally quiet in the deep night, with only the occasional barking of dogs breaking the silence.

Having lived here for nearly a month, Han Lei was already familiar with the streets.

She deftly glided through the shadows of various streets, like a nimble cat, barely making a sound.

The Jinghua Inn was ahead, its two dim lanterns swaying lightly in the breeze, illuminating the outline of the inn’s entrance.

The shopkeeper was slumped behind the counter, his head bobbing as he dozed off.

Outside the inn, Han Lei retrieved a pink cloak from her space, draping it over herself to cover the nightwear beneath.

She rubbed her face and adjusted her tense expression before going in.

"Shopkeeper." She lightly tapped on the counter, her voice gentle.

The shopkeeper suddenly awoke, rubbed his eyes, and looked at her sleepily: "Customer, do you want to stay or dine?"

Han Lei smiled slightly, her tone relaxed.

"Shopkeeper, I’ve come to find my friends. They’ve already checked in here. It’s five men together — which room are they in?"

The shopkeeper wasn’t quite awake yet; he scratched his head, trying hard to recall.

"Five men together? Oh yes, the guests in Heavenly Room One and Two, those are the five men who came together."

"Are you sure they came together?" Han Lei confirmed again.

"Yes, only they are the five men who came together." The shopkeeper nodded, his tone certain.

"Great, thank you, I’ll go up and find them." Han Lei’s smile grew even sweeter, as if she truly were visiting friends.

The shopkeeper yawned and waved his hand: "But it’s so late; they should all be asleep by now."

"No problem, I’ll just knock on the door."
