Seven Cubs, Seven Fathers, Zero Days Off
Chapter 187 - 185: The Arrival of the God of Slaughter
Chapter 187: Chapter 185: The Arrival of the God of Slaughter
His thoughts shifted, and his heart ached as he looked at the young female still crying before him:
"Don’t worry. Although Li City is a border city of the Ye Country, we are more than capable of protecting a young female. You can rest easy and live here in Li City."
"From now on, you are one of us, a person of Li City and the Ye Country. Those the K Empire cannot protect, we, the Ye Country, will protect!"
The crowd before the city gate listened, their blood boiling as they shouted enthusiastically:
"That’s right! Our Ye Country is much stronger than their K Empire!"
"The Ye Country welcomes you!"
"From now on, the Ye Country is your home!"
"Right! It’s better not to go back to that K Empire anyway!"
"Our Ye Country’s warriors can protect you! From now on, you’re one of us!"
Xiao Ya hadn’t expected to enter the city so smoothly. They hadn’t even glanced at what she was hiding in the basket on her back.
What’s more, the guards had thoughtfully arranged a place for her to stay.
The place wasn’t large, but it was near the City Lord Mansion in a relatively bustling area. They even gave her some Crystal Beads and told her to buy some daily necessities at the market.
She stood in the room and checked her surroundings. Once she confirmed there was no one in front of or behind the house, she gently lifted the hidden fox out of the basket and placed it on the bed.
Looking at the unconscious fox on the bed, she saw its breathing was shallow and its aura was incredibly faint.
She couldn’t help but worry.
She had gone through hell and high water to bring him to the Ye Country.
’I can’t let him die.’
So, after covering the fox with the bedding, Xiao Ya immediately headed to the market.
「Meanwhile, in Luoxi Town.」
Ever since Xiao Ya had secretly taken the fox, the entire Luoxi Town had been thrown into chaos by the next morning.
Everyone was gripped by panic.
After all, they had tortured the fox for a full day. If it was rescued and survived...
...then there would be no way for them, the people of Luoxi Town, to live.
The fox would surely take brutal revenge on them. Luoxi Town might even face total annihilation once again.
So, on the second day, the townspeople scoured all the surrounding hills. They searched the entire area for a whole day but found no trace of the fox.
It wasn’t until someone discovered that Xiao Ya, the only young female in town who had just come of age, was missing.
Only then did everyone realize it was Xiao Ya who had saved the fox.
"Town Chief, I told you that girl was an ungrateful wretch! We never should have saved her back then!"
"That’s right! People from the Rabbit Clan are the most devious. We raised her for so many years, and to think she’d repay our kindness with hatred!"
"She must have been the one who saved the fox. What do we do now, Town Chief?"
"If that fox wakes up and Xiao Ya tells him how we tortured him, he’ll definitely wipe us all out!"
Listening to everyone’s panicked chatter, Muto was at his wit’s end.
Who would have thought the little girl he’d practically raised himself would rescue their sworn enemy?
Years ago, when Xiao Ya was just a little rabbit, she had been abandoned on a mountain outside Luoxi Town. Muto, who happened to be out hunting, found her and brought her back to be raised in the town.
She was, in a way, raised by the entire community.
He had originally thought that when the girl grew up, she could marry his son and become his Female Master.
But he never expected something like this to happen.
He took a deep breath:
"Everyone, calm down. Even if she did take the fox, how far could a weak young female get? She definitely couldn’t have escaped far."
"Besides, the idea that she could save that fox is just wishful thinking!"
"After all, we’re the ones who crippled his limbs. We know better than anyone how severe his injuries are. His spiritual power can never recover. Even an S Class Healing Doctor might not be able to save him. And I doubt he has the good fortune to ever meet an S Class Healing Doctor anyway!"
Hearing this, the crowd’s fear subsided a little.
They could finally comfort themselves and breathe a sigh of relief.
But in the next second...
"What did you do to him?"
A cold shout materialized out of thin air, carrying an invisible pressure and power that slammed directly into Muto.
Muto couldn’t react in time. He was about to strike back and defend himself, but his feeble spiritual power was no match for this force.
He was sent flying in an instant.
THUD!
Muto crashed heavily onto the ground.
"Town Chief!"
The crowd cried out in alarm.
Lying on the ground, Muto violently coughed up a mouthful of blood.
It all happened so fast. The crowd stared, wide-eyed in horror, at the two people who had appeared out of nowhere.
They didn’t even dare to run over and help Muto up.
Muto, still sprawled on the ground, looked up to see two figures descending from mid-air.
Shen Yue was clad in red, her head covered by a veiled hat. A cascade of thick, long hair fell from beneath it, revealing only a pair of eyes that shone like brilliant stars.
An irrepressible rage burned in those eyes.
She had heard every single word this group had just said.
Her figure was graceful as she slowly landed on the ground.
The aura around her was so powerful it stirred the air, causing the trees and all of nature to fall silent for her.
Huang Ziyue stood beside her, a dark black cloak obscuring his divinely handsome face.
He sensed Shen Yue’s fury, and his pair of dark red eyes fixed on Muto on the ground.
He said coldly:
"What did you do to that fox?"
The formidable aura emanating from the man made the crowd’s legs tremble uncontrollably.
After taking that hit from Shen Yue, Muto felt as if his internal organs had all been displaced.
He clutched his chest, staring in shock at the two newcomers:
"Who... who are you?"
Shen Yue had no patience to waste on him. She raised a hand, and an invisible force instantly seized Muto’s throat.
Muto was lifted off his feet, dangling by his neck.
His eyes looked as if they were about to pop out of their sockets.
Her voice was bone-chillingly cold:
"I’ll ask you one more time. What did you do to him?"
Muto’s body struggled relentlessly as he was held in mid-air, choking and sputtering blood from the lack of air.
The veins on his face bulged continuously.
Below, the townspeople of Luoxi Town screamed in terror. Overwhelmed by the pressure radiating from the two figures, they cowered on the ground, heads in their hands, trembling.
Shen Yue watched the gasping Muto in mid-air without a hint of mercy.
She clenched her hand.
CRACK.
Muto’s head lolled to the side. She had snapped his neck, and he stopped breathing.
She flicked her hand, her rage on full display.
She flung Muto’s body to the ground like a dirty rag, and it slammed down with enough force to create a crater.
The crowd on the ground watched this scene in horror, scared out of their wits.
No one could have imagined that the woman in red was so ruthless. Without another word, her strike was lethal.
In that moment, everyone felt as if they were looking at a god of slaughter. Fear had robbed them of their ability to think.
All they could do was tremble instinctively.
’This isn’t a person, this is a god of slaughter from hell itself!’
Shen Yue walked step by step toward the group of people huddled together, cowering with their heads in their hands and drenched in cold sweat. Her gaze was as deep and cold as still water:
"Speak."
That single, cold word made the crowd collapse flat on the ground in terror.
"I’ll talk, I’ll talk! The fox..."
Talking over each other, the crowd spilled everything—from how they had discovered Bai Chaosi by the river, to how the townspeople had devised all sorts of ways to torture him, to his eventual rescue...
They confessed the entire process, one person’s sentence following another’s.
As Shen Yue listened, the hand hidden in her sleeve clenched into a tight fist.
Even Huang Ziyue, standing beside her, furrowed his brow as he listened.
He hadn’t imagined that Bai Chaosi would be so cruelly tortured by this group of people.
That he would fall into such a state.
That he would suffer so much in just a few short days.
The aura around Shen Yue grew colder and colder, until finally, as she heard the end of their story, she snapped:
"Enough!"
