Seeking Martial Dao in All Reborn Lives
Chapter 387 - 283: Indestructible
Matt’s body went rigid in an instant, his eyes filled with utter incomprehension.
His power level was already at the apex of the restricted class, and the Secret Transmission he inherited was especially outstanding when it came to offensive might.
The Spiral Power could roil the heavens and earth. In ancient times, a single spear thrust from Angel’s Horn, one of the Four Knights, could pierce any city wall in the world. It was said to be unstoppable.
And he was confident in his own offensive power.
He believed that even the legendary Four Marshals would have to treat his thrust with the utmost seriousness, or they would risk injury.
His Secret Transmission was the Strongest Spear!
And yet, a direct hit from his full-power attack hadn’t even damaged his opponent’s clothing. This utterly shattered his perception of reality.
It was as if a spatial barrier separated them. That single inch was the gulf between two different worlds, impossible to cross.
And in truth, that was exactly the case.
A Divine General and a restricted-level practitioner seemed to be only a single step apart, but like an emperor and the Crown Prince, that one step represented a world of difference.
The ability to command Primordial Qi represented a fundamental difference in energy efficiency. The disparity was like that between an Immortal and a mortal.
If it were someone who had just entered the Divine General realm, their physical transformation would be incomplete. Their internal Primordial Qi would not yet be abundant, and they wouldn’t have reached the peak of Body Exchange. This is akin to a mortal vessel not yet fully reforged into an immortal one—it still has flaws. A sufficiently powerful attack from a restricted-level expert might well have a chance of injuring such an individual.
However, once the Body Exchange was complete and the body had undergone a profound metamorphosis, the gap between them would have grown so vast as to be utterly insurmountable.
At the peak of Body Exchange, Primordial Qi permeates the entire body, granting a natural defense that is nigh impervious to blades and spears, water and fire.
To say nothing of Zhao Xuanqi, who had already surpassed Body Exchange, reached a higher realm, and condensed True Essence.
Moreover, under the continuous tempering of the Black Flame, both his Primordial Qi and his body had been forged to the strength of a Hundred Refinements Divine Weapon; he had truly attained the state of Vajra Indestructible.
In the Condensing Yuan realm, True Essence possesses its own unique properties. The True Essence born from the Bloodline Species combining its corrupting ability with the properties of Li Zhenyuan’s Phoenix Fire could burn Primordial Qi. It clung like a plague upon the bone, difficult to extinguish, and would not vanish until it had consumed all of the target’s Life Primordial Qi.
The Bloodline Species called this power of True Essence the "Unquenchable Fire."
As for Zhao Xuanqi, who had broken through to a new realm while being tempered by the Unquenchable Fire, making his body like Divine Iron Golden Essence, Vajra Indestructible—this power of True Essence, Zhao Xuanqi named it:
Indestructible!!
"A decent attack."
Zhao Xuanqi nodded slightly. Even though his opponent’s full-power strike hadn’t harmed a single hair on his head, he still gave a word of praise.
It wasn’t empty courtesy. Among those at the restricted-level, the power of his opponent’s attack was indeed outstanding.
However, the restricted-level was still just the restricted-level. No matter how powerful one was within it, the distinction meant little to him.
All beings under heaven were equal in his eyes.
Hearing Zhao Xuanqi’s words, Matt suddenly felt a terrifying chill. He tried to pull his arm back, but it was too late.
VMM!!
Zhao Xuanqi moved, and the Primordial Qi surged with a powerful Vibration. Just as before, Matt’s body froze instantly. He couldn’t even blink.
WHOOSH!
A gentle breeze swept by. Zhao Xuanqi’s palm swung gently, growing larger and larger in Matt’s eyes until it landed on his chest.
His body instantly went out of his control, flying lightly through the air. He landed back in his original spot, not an inch off, completely unharmed.
Seeing this, the eyes of the resistance representatives from every nation widened in utter disbelief.
They knew very well how strong Matt was. Across the entire Divine Land, there was almost no expert among the various resistance organizations who could defeat him.
The only one who possibly could...
All eyes turned to Bard, who had arrived with Matt.
"Be careful," Bard said in a deep voice. "This is not my power, but the power of Grell the Black Dragon, one of the Four Marshals."
Bard said in a deep voice, then took a sudden step forward and charged Zhao Xuanqi.
BOOM!!
Abruptly, a terrifying black smoke billowed from his body, rising up and coalescing into the form of a black dragon.
Everything the black smoke touched began to melt rapidly, its corrosive power even more terrifying than that of a potent acid.
The very earth dissolved and sank where he passed, and the air itself seemed to twist in his wake.
"Oh?"
Zhao Xuanqi raised an eyebrow, a flicker of interest in his eyes. He could clearly sense the black smoke intensely corroding the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi. It was like a virulent poison; any Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi it touched simply dissolved and vanished.
This was no longer an ability a restricted-level practitioner could wield; it had already reached a higher plane.
At the same time, he noticed something unusual about Bard. As Bard used the ability, the black smoke was also rapidly corroding his own body. Bard wore thick clothes, so the exact condition of his body was unclear, but Zhao Xuanqi could make a judgment. ’The corrosion definitely isn’t limited to just half his face. It might even be half his body.’
Each time he used this ability, the poison of the Primordial Qi ate deeper into his body.
’In his current state, if the total time he uses this ability exceeds one more minute, he will inevitably be consumed by this Primordial Qi poison and die violently.’
Possessing such an ability was a coincidence, one that came at a terrible price. If he had a choice, Bard would never want to use this power.
’The power of the Black Earth Dragon, one of the Ancient Eight Fiends?’
’It seems this man used some kind of Secret Technique to survive the Black Earth Dragon’s corrosive power. The fiend’s power must have subtly merged with his own Primordial Qi, allowing him to unleash it when he mobilizes his own strength. It’s tantamount to temporarily wielding a portion of the Black Earth Dragon’s power.’
