Secretly Married for 4 Years, He Regrets to Tears After the Divorce
Chapter 429 - 432: There’s Something Wrong With Her Left Leg
Adrian Lancaster was a man of action. Once he decided to do something, he wouldn’t delay for a second.
After lunch, Wren Sutton was focused on playing with Owen and Nina in the living room.
He got up, went upstairs to the bedroom, and called his exclusive private doctor.
"Arrange a vasectomy for me. As soon as possible."
The doctor on the other end of the line was stunned for a moment, thinking he had misheard.
’The great young master of the Lancaster family, Adrian Lancaster, wants to get a vasectomy?’
"Did you hear what I said?"
Adrian Lancaster’s voice sounded in his ear again, and the doctor snapped back to his senses. He apologized and quickly checked his schedule.
Soon, he replied respectfully, "Mr. Lancaster, all the preoperative examinations can be expedited. You can come to the hospital at nine in the morning the day after tomorrow, and you’ll have one-on-one follow-up for the entire process."
"The procedure itself is minimally invasive and takes very little time. Afterward, you’ll only need to stay in the recovery room for observation for thirty minutes to an hour. Once we confirm there are no issues, you can leave the hospital. It won’t affect your subsequent schedule or daily routine."
Adrian Lancaster had no objections and calmly agreed.
"Alright. Nine in the morning, the day after tomorrow. I’ll be there."
"The process, the paperwork, the staff arrangements—coordinate everything in advance. Use a private entrance. Don’t alert anyone, and maintain strict confidentiality throughout."
The doctor immediately promised, "Understood. Rest assured, I will arrange everything properly. It will be kept absolutely confidential, and there will be no mistakes."
"Mm."
Adrian Lancaster replied with a single, soft sound and said no more before hanging up.
His face was expressionless, but he didn’t regret his decision.
He had to follow through on what he promised Wren Sutton.
...
In the blink of an eye, it was time for the scheduled surgery.
Adrian Lancaster had planned to go alone, but Wren Sutton was worried and insisted on accompanying him to the hospital.
"It’s still a surgery, big or small. And you’re doing this for me, so I have to go with you. If I wait at home, I won’t be able to sit still."
Wren Sutton was resolute. Adrian Lancaster couldn’t win against her, so he had no choice but to agree.
"Alright."
In the VIP waiting area of the high-end private hospital, the warm-toned decor softened the typically somber and oppressive atmosphere of a medical facility.
The professional medical team fast-tracked Adrian Lancaster through the process, and he quickly completed his preoperative exams.
Before Adrian Lancaster entered the operating room, Wren Sutton stepped forward and hugged him tightly, her eyes reddening as she was overcome by the moment.
"I don’t want you to go in."
Adrian Lancaster understood what his wife was afraid of and kissed her forehead reassuringly.
"Hey, don’t let your imagination run wild. We agreed on this, we can’t back out now, right?"
"It’s just a minor procedure. It’ll be over soon, don’t worry."
Wren Sutton tried to calm herself and slowly let go of him. "I’ll wait for you out here."
Adrian Lancaster kissed her. "I love you, Wren. I’m doing this of my own free will."
Wren Sutton nodded emphatically. "I love you, too."
The doctor led Adrian Lancaster into the operating room, and the doors closed tightly behind them.
Wren Sutton sat on a long bench, waiting patiently.
At some point, she happened to turn her head.
At the far end of the hallway, a familiar figure unexpectedly entered her line of sight.
Wren Sutton recognized that back. It was Claire Bennett.
’What is she doing at the hospital?’
Claire Bennett was wearing a well-tailored, dark-colored long dress and a wide-brimmed hat.
What made Wren Sutton frown with suspicion was that Claire Bennett’s gait today was completely different from usual.
With each step she took, her left leg moved with a noticeable stiffness. It landed very lightly, as if she barely dared to put any weight on it.
It was as if her left leg had no strength. Her entire center of gravity unconsciously shifted to the right, making her walk like she had a limp.
...
Seeing this, Wren Sutton’s heart skipped a beat. ’So, there’s something wrong with Claire Bennett’s left leg.’
Intense curiosity and deep suspicion intertwined, and Wren Sutton stood up from the bench, unable to control herself.
She lightened her steps, trying not to make a sound, and quietly followed Claire Bennett from a moderate distance.
Wren Sutton didn’t know why she was doing this. It was just that a voice deep inside kept telling her that Claire Bennett was hiding a secret she knew nothing about.
