Secret Marriage: The CEO's Pampered Wife
Chapter 389 - 369: Running Back Impulsively 2
After sitting quietly for twenty minutes, Georgia Thorne got a call from Elliot Sheridan. "I’m here. Come out!"
"Wait, I’m coming down right now!"
Georgia Thorne stood up and said to everyone at the table, "Um, something’s come up. I have to head back now!"
"Go back? Not all the dishes have arrived yet. Stay a little longer!"
"I can’t, my husband’s here!" Georgia Thorne said shyly.
Ever since she got sick that one time, the news that she was married had spread among the trainees.
During that time, Georgia Thorne was often seen on the phone with her husband, making all the other female designers incredibly envious.
Georgia Thorne’s husband was so considerate, truly doting on his wife.
Everyone was curious about Georgia Thorne’s husband, but she was private and tight-lipped, refusing to say a thing.
"Don’t go! This is the perfect chance to bring your husband over so we can get a look at him. We want to see what kind of man managed to capture such a great beauty!"
Georgia Thorne waved her hands dismissively. "It’s better not to. He doesn’t really like meeting new people."
Georgia Thorne tried to decline, but the others wouldn’t let her off the hook, insisting they would go downstairs with her.
With no other choice, Georgia Thorne had to say, "Um, I’ll go down and ask him first!"
Afraid she would run off, they made her leave her phone behind before letting her go downstairs.
She dashed downstairs in a flash. Seeing the man standing at the entrance, she immediately ran to him.
"Honey!" She threw herself into Elliot Sheridan’s arms from the front.
Then she turned Nina’s little face toward her and gave her a big kiss. "Did Nina miss Mommy?"
Elliot Sheridan had been happy at first because Georgia Thorne had called out to him first.
But after she kissed Nina Sheridan, he wasn’t happy anymore.
That’s right. He was even jealous of his own daughter.
"What took you so long!"
Georgia Thorne giggled as she played with her daughter. "Everyone was holding me up, they didn’t want me to leave!"
"Oh, right. You came so late, you probably haven’t eaten yet. Do you want to come up and have a bite?"
"My friends want to meet you?" Georgia Thorne asked tentatively, a little worried he might refuse.
Elliot Sheridan wasn’t a fan of crowded places, but he was more than willing to get to know Georgia Thorne’s circle of friends.
He readily agreed, "Sure!"
Elliot Sheridan held his daughter with practiced ease, looking every bit the doting dad.
Especially when Elliot Sheridan appeared in the private room, all eyes fell on them. He was instantly awarded the title of "Good Husband" as well.
A mature man always sparks a woman’s imagination.
The women at the table were all captivated by Elliot Sheridan. People are always willing to spare a few extra glances for a handsome man.
Moreover, his suit was clearly a handmade, custom piece from a famous designer. An expensive suit and a cold, proud aura—he was obviously no ordinary person.
Everyone was a little stunned. They had assumed Georgia Thorne’s husband was just an average guy, never expecting him to be so outstanding.
Not only was he handsome and rich, but most importantly, he was holding a child.
’So, they already have a child?’
Everyone felt it was a bit of a shame that such a rare gem of a man was already married and a father.
And this man was the husband of a fellow trainee, no less. They were all the more envious of Georgia Thorne now.
No wonder Georgia Thorne had been so secretive. If they had a husband like that, they’d probably hide him away too.
Elliot Sheridan’s aura was on another level. A single glance from him swept across the table, and everyone instinctively lowered their heads, making it feel strangely like a business meeting.
It was as if Elliot Sheridan was the boss, sitting at the head of the table and looking down on everyone, while all those around him were his subordinates, a rank below.
Georgia Thorne took the child. "You should eat something."
Elliot Sheridan took Georgia Thorne’s chopsticks and started eating without a second thought.
This surprised everyone again. Georgia Thorne’s husband was actually using her chopsticks. Wasn’t he grossed out?
In short, with Elliot Sheridan there, the atmosphere grew awkward.
Georgia Thorne felt it too, but there was nothing she could do. They were the ones who had insisted.
She could only pray the dinner would end soon so they could leave.
Someone tried to strike up a conversation with Elliot Sheridan, but his icy gaze shut them down.
"Your daughter is just adorable!" the woman next to her said with an awkward laugh.
Elliot Sheridan took his daughter back into his arms and gave a proud grunt of agreement.
’How could his and Georgia Thorne’s daughter be anything but adorable?’
Anyone could see that Elliot Sheridan doted on Georgia Thorne, and he doted on his daughter even more.
Everyone grew even more envious. She had a husband as handsome as Elliot Sheridan and such a cute and beautiful daughter.
Elliot Sheridan’s arrival was a pleasant surprise for Georgia Thorne.
On the way back, Georgia Thorne leaned against him, a happy laugh bubbling up. "Why does this feel like a dream?"
The man beside her pinched her cheek hard. "Feel that? Does it hurt?"
"It hurts!"
"If it hurts, then it’s not a dream!"
"..."
Georgia Thorne was speechless. She glared at him fiercely, clutching her aching cheek. ’Jerk!’
After the hard pinch, Georgia Thorne puffed out her cheeks in anger and turned her head to stare out the window, refusing to look at the father and daughter.
Elliot Sheridan, on the other hand, was in a great mood, grinning as he teased the daughter in his arms.
Elliot Sheridan had come over with plans to stay and have some fun for a few days.
Georgia Thorne cried out and immediately ran to the computer. "Why didn’t you say so earlier? I already bought our plane tickets back!"
’So much for my surprise!’
While fiddling with the computer, she glanced at the man beside her.
Elliot Sheridan placed the sleeping Nina Sheridan on the bed and unbuttoned his suit jacket. "I’m going to take a shower."
Georgia Thorne was busy trying to cancel the tickets and answered distractedly.
After about ten minutes, she managed to cancel the tickets and let out a sigh of relief.
She turned and looked at Nina Sheridan sleeping on the bed.
Kids grow up so fast. It felt like she had grown so much in the short time they’d been apart.
She was much heavier, too. Georgia had noticed how heavy she felt when she held her earlier.
She gently pinched the little one’s cheek. Nina Sheridan was sound asleep, completely oblivious to her mother’s touch, her eyes shut tight in deep slumber.
After having a child, they rarely went out for fun.
The next morning, Georgia Thorne was still asleep, hugging her daughter, while the man beside her was already awake.
Hearing some rustling, she groggily opened her eyes. "What time is it?"
"Seven."
After battling with herself for a moment, she struggled out of bed, rubbing her sleepy eyes. "I’m so tired!"
"Go brush your teeth and wash your face." Elliot Sheridan hauled her out of bed and steered her toward the bathroom.
Georgia Thorne was lethargic, feeling completely drained of energy.
After washing her face, she looked a little more refreshed.
For the past two months, Georgia Thorne had been constantly busy and had barely gone out with friends, so she had no idea where they should go for fun.
But from the look on Elliot Sheridan’s face, he probably already had a destination in mind.
The scenery in the area was quite nice. They went to a nearby ancient town.
Since it was the weekend, the ancient town was packed with tourists, crowding the streets paved with bluestone slabs.
Georgia Thorne walked very slowly. She was much shorter than Elliot Sheridan, and her legs were shorter too. Every few steps, she had to break into a little trot to catch up.
Elliot Sheridan stopped and turned around, and Georgia Thorne almost failed to stop in time, nearly crashing into his arms.
"It’s crowded here."
As he spoke, the man lowered his gaze, took Georgia Thorne’s hand, and slowed his pace, weaving through the crowd.
Elliot Sheridan disliked being in crowded places, and he didn’t like how people around them were staring at him like he was a piece of meat.
Georgia Thorne, however, was quite happy. She linked her arm with Elliot Sheridan’s, as curious as Nina Sheridan about every new and unfamiliar sight.
By the end of the day, she was on the verge of collapsing from all the walking.
Back at the hotel, Georgia Thorne collapsed onto the bed, spread-eagled from exhaustion. "My calves are so sore!"
Elliot Sheridan placed their daughter beside her and sat on the edge of the bed, his large hand gripping Georgia Thorne’s calf.
He bent her leg up and pressed his thumb into the muscle. "Here?"
Georgia Thorne cried out in pain immediately. "Gently! That hurts!"
She gasped, trying to pull her leg out of his grasp, but he held her ankle firmly.
Elliot Sheridan found the spot that hurt the most and pressed down hard. "Endure it. Otherwise, it’ll hurt even more tomorrow."
"It really hurts!" Georgia Thorne whimpered.
While Elliot Sheridan massaged her calves, the pain was indeed so intense that Georgia Thorne could barely speak, but it felt much better afterward.
They stayed for three days, flying back to Portmire on the afternoon of the fourth day.
It had been a long time since she’d been home, and Georgia Thorne had missed it dearly.
"Mom! Dad!" she called out loudly as soon as she stepped inside, seeing the two of them bickering in the living room.
"You’re back!" Sharon Ennis shot her husband a sideways glance before getting up happily and walking to the door. "How was it? Are you tired from your trip?"
"It was fine!"
"Little Nina, did you have fun?" Sharon Ennis hadn’t seen her little granddaughter in days. She took her from Georgia Thorne’s arms and played with the little one’s hands. "Did you miss Grandma?"
Nina Sheridan beamed at Sharon Ennis, took a bite of the apple in her hand, and then offered it to her. "Eat!"
"Good girl. Grandma doesn’t want any. Nina can have it!"
Nina Sheridan could walk now, but she was still slow and wobbly, looking as if she might tumble over at any moment.
Sharon Ennis set her on the floor, and Nina Sheridan took the apple and toddled over to James Sheridan.
"Eat!" After finally making it to James Sheridan, she offered him the apple.
"Good girl, Nina. Grandpa doesn’t want any apple either!"
Georgia Thorne was a bit tired, so she went upstairs to take a shower first.
Just as she got in, she heard a noise at the door.
Elliot Sheridan pushed open the bathroom door and came in. "Let’s take a shower together!"
Georgia Thorne hadn’t expected him to just barge in. She hurriedly grabbed a nearby towel to cover herself, her face flushing red. "Get out!"
