Second Genesis
Chapter 636: I’ll Never
The kiss started slow, but it didn’t stay that way for long. Amunet’s fingers slid into Grey’s hair and tightened, dragging him closer while her lips parted beneath his, and the soft, gutteral sound that escaped her throat hit him harder than anything the Infernal Princes had managed all day.
Those sons of bitches were tied up in such a tight bundle, that they probably couldn’t even breathe, let alone see or sense anything.
Did Elementals need oxygen? Grey didn’t know. And at this point he didn’t care if they just slowly suffocated to death either.
Grey pushed off the wall and carried her deeper into the room without breaking away, his hands spread wide across her ass to hold her against him. Every step bounced her body along the front of his, her bare breasts rubbing across his shirt and her thighs locking tighter around his hips, until he felt her soaking through his pants with each stride.
She was breathtaking like this. Her dark-gold hair had come loose from whatever order it usually kept, spilling down her back in heavy waves that brushed his knuckles, and the flush had spread from her cheeks down across her throat and chest until her golden skin glowed in the dim amber light slipping through the curtains.
Amunet broke the kiss just long enough to catch her breath, her forehead resting against his while her chest heaved against him. Her eyes had gone dark and heavy, and she looked at him like she was trying to decide whether to bite him again or kiss him harder.
"If you didn’t look so decent, you wouldn’t get away with half the shit you say."
Grey grinned, lips still close enough to brush hers. "You can call me whatever you want, princess."
"Call me that again and I’ll rip your tongue out."
"And take away your soon to be second favorite body part? I could never."
Amunet’s reply died somewhere between her lips and his when she dragged him back in, kissing him with enough force that their teeth clicked together before they found a rhythm again. Her hands left his hair and moved to the hem of his shirt, yanking it upward with an impatience that made him laugh into her mouth, and he had to set her on her feet for a moment so she could pull it over his head and fling it across the room.
She didn’t come back to him right away. Her palms flattened against his chest and slid downward, following the hard ridges of muscle carved into his stomach, the lean, dense build of someone who had spent his whole life training.
Her gaze lingered there longer than she probably meant it to, and Grey noticed.
"Take a picture," he said. "It’ll last longer."
"Shut up. That’s so fucking cliche and corny, do better."
Amunet’s fingers found his belt next, and Grey’s breath caught somewhere in his throat when she tugged it loose with a quick jerk that made him wonder exactly how long she had been thinking about this. His pants followed the belt down, and he stepped out of them without looking, far too busy watching her.
Standing there in the half-light, completely bare, she looked like something that belonged on the wall of a temple. Her waist curved inward before flaring into wide, soft hips, her breasts full and heavy with light brown, beige nipples drawn tight from the cool air, and her legs ran long and toned all the way down to the ankles, the muscle shifting beneath smooth skin every time she moved her weight.
Grey stopped thinking about the Council entirely.
He caught her by the waist and pulled her back against him, and the first full press of bare skin on bare skin sent a shiver rippling through her whole body. Her breasts flattened against his chest, her stomach pressed to his, and when she rolled her hips forward on instinct, the slow drag of her body against his lower half tore a groan out of both of them at the same time.
They stumbled backward together until the edge of the bed hit the backs of her knees. Amunet fell onto the mattress with a startled huff, her hair fanning across the sheets like spilled ambrosia, and Grey followed her down before she could sit up again.
He caught both of her wrists and pinned them above her head, pressing them into the mattress with one hand while he braced himself over her with the other. Amunet tested the grip once, arching up beneath him, and the motion only lifted her chest toward him and pressed her hips firmly into his.
Grey took his time looking.
His eyes moved over her greedily, from the parted lips and flushed cheeks down to the swell of her breasts rising and falling with each uneven breath, then lower across the soft line of her stomach to the curve of her hips where they cradled his. Her thighs had drifted open beneath him without either of them deciding it, and she trembled faintly every time his weight shifted against her.
Amunet felt the heat of him pressed hard against her, and the sensation rolled up her spine and scattered every thought she had left. Her breath came out in a shaky rush, her wrists flexing uselessly beneath his hand, and for a long moment she simply stared up at him while her heart pounded loud enough that she was sure he could hear it.
Then something flickered in her expression, and the haze thinned just enough for hesitation to slip through.
Grey saw it and slowed.
Amunet swallowed, her gaze dropping to his chest before forcing itself back up to meet his eyes. When she finally spoke, her voice came out quieter than he had ever heard it, without any of the bite she usually hid behind.
"You can go only if you’ll be with me only from now on." She drew a slow breath, and her eyes hardened. "If not, I’ll never forgive you if you do."
Grey froze above her.
