Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!
Chapter 466 465: Don’t Wait, Your Son Won’t Be Coming Back!
When the soldiers from the Cindralock Dominion entered, the Armand Family immediately perked up.
Elder Armand snapped his eyes open, expecting them to bring good news.
But gradually, unease spread among the family members. Something felt wrong.
Too many soldiers were coming in. More than a dozen had already filled the room.
At their head stood a white lieutenant.
He approached the Armand Family with an indifferent expression and said coldly,
"Ladies and gentlemen, you are suspected of transnational criminal activities. Please come with us."
"!!!"
The words struck the Armand Family like a thunderbolt.
The eldest son of the family leapt up, protesting in fluent English.
"Mr. Lieutenant, you must be mistaken! We were invited to your country. How could we possibly be criminals?"
The lieutenant didn't bother to argue. His voice was flat, almost mechanical.
"If you have questions, take them to the judge. I am under orders to arrest you. Don't make this difficult for me. If you resist, I am authorized to kill you on the spot."
Faces darkened instantly.
Only Elder Armand sighed, his expression turning ashen.
He had lived long enough to recognize the truth hidden in a single word. From the lieutenant's tone, he already knew: his son's plan had failed.
By now, One Leaf Knows Autumn must be dead.
If Jadeveil Nation had indeed secured a complete victory, the Cindralock Dominion would have no choice but to bend and avoid provoking them. The Armand Family? They were nothing more than pawns.
The likely outcome was clear—soon, they would be extradited back to Jadeveil Nation to face judgment there.
With this realization, the light faded from Elder Armand's eyes.
But while he gave up, the younger family members were still in denial.
"We've committed no crime, why arrest us!?"
"You claim we're criminals—where is your evidence!?"
"Yes! Do you dare arrest people without proof? Is this how your Dominion treats its guests!?"
Their protests filled the waiting room with noisy defiance.
The lieutenant, clearly tired of the noise, gave a cold wave of his hand. "Arrest them."
At once, heavily armed soldiers surged forward, moving to restrain the Armand Family.
Facing rifles and military discipline, none of them dared resist physically. They could only continue shouting in indignation.
Desperation flickered across the eldest son's face. He tried one last gamble.
"Mr. Lieutenant, we're waiting for my brother! He's a renowned Samsara, ranked among the global top hundred, and an ally of your own Adam. Surely you won't arrest us when he returns?"
The lieutenant sneered.
"Are you talking about Mr. Sardo Armand?"
The room went still.
"Don't wait," he said with disdain. "He's never coming back."
"What!?" the eldest son stammered. His voice cracked with disbelief.
"Mr. Lieutenant, what do you mean? Explain yourself!"
The lieutenant looked impatient, almost mocking.
"He's dead. Shura killed him. I heard there wasn't even a bone left intact. Understand now?"
The words fell like a death knell.
Silence consumed the room. The Armand Family froze in place, stunned beyond comprehension. Their struggles ceased.
—---
By the time Fenric, Vivienne, and the others returned to base, it was already past eleven. Even at their fastest speed, the long battle and hours of flight had drained everyone.
Inside the base, Fenric found Yuhan still waiting.
Her eyes lit up the moment she saw him and her sister return safely. She was overjoyed, though she held back, sensing her sister had things to say first. Quietly, she stayed to the side, her gaze locked on Fenric.
"You've all worked hard tonight," Vivienne said politely, her voice carrying warmth despite her own fatigue. "Dormitories have been arranged for you. Rest early, or if you'd prefer, go home. No restrictions. A special officer will handle the rewards and contact you later."
Smiles broke out among the weary Samsaras. Many chose to return home immediately.
When the others had gone, only Vivienne Song, Yuhan, and Fenric remained.
"Sister, Fenric—" Yuhan rushed forward now that no outsiders were present.
Fenric smiled faintly in response.
Vivienne Song, amused, teased, "You silly girl. Waiting up so late?"
"Of course! I couldn't rest until you came back," Yuhan replied sweetly.
Her sister chuckled. "Not me you were worried about. You were waiting for Fenric, weren't you?"
In public, she always called him "Shura." But in private, she deliberately used his real name.
Yuhan's cheeks flushed instantly. "Sister, don't talk nonsense!"
"Alright, alright." Vivienne waved it off with a tired smile. "I'm exhausted. I'll wash up and sleep. You two should rest early too."
With that, she left, deliberately giving the younger pair their space.
Yuhan's face was still pink. Though this wasn't the first time she'd been alone with Fenric, the situation now felt different.
Back during the "2012" dungeon, they had lived together for over four months, but only as friends, surviving side by side.
Now… it carried another weight.
After a quiet moment, Yuhan broke the silence.
"Fenric… tonight's battle must have been dangerous, wasn't it?"
Her eyes reflected worry. Against Adam, it couldn't have been anything but perilous. The thought that she hadn't been able to fight beside him gnawed at her heart.
Fenric smiled lightly, masking the truth.
"It's fine. Everything was under control."
In truth, it had been far from simple.
But Yuhan's smile brightened. "I knew it. With you, nothing is impossible."
Fenric raised an eyebrow. "So much confidence in me?"
"Yes," she answered firmly. "You're a miracle."
Their voices softened as they chatted into the night, before finally parting for their rooms.
By then, it was close to midnight.
Though Yuhan urged him to rest, Fenric had other plans.
He could not afford to waste time. The threat of Adam still loomed. Tonight's battle had proved just how dangerous his enemy remained.
Fenric resolved to continue grinding dungeons through the night, sharpening his strength.
"Until he destroyed the guillotine hanging over his head, the war would never be over. Not yet."
