Chapter 27: Chapter 14: Ikki Appears, Activating the Rumble-Rumble Fruit! (Part 1)
Inside the Tokyo Colosseum, the waves of cheering rose higher and higher like a surging tide.
The Galaxian Wars were progressing steadily along the exact trajectory in Alex’s memories. The four Bronze Saints—Seiya, Shun, Shiryu, and Hyoga—were like four brilliant stars breaking through dark clouds, overcoming every obstacle in their path.
Their Cosmos burned fiercely in the ring, and every spectacular clash was accompanied by deafening roars of applause.
"And now, for the semi-finals of this tournament! Please welcome our competitors, Seiya and Hyoga!"
As Hyoga and Seiya stepped into the center of the ring, the entire arena instantly fell silent.
Spotlights cascaded down like two golden waterfalls, enveloping the two fighters. The metallic patterns on their Bronze Cloths flowed with a cold, sharp luster under the intense light.
The two Bronze Saints locked eyes, and it felt as though invisible electric currents were colliding in the air. The comrades who were destined to fight side-by-side in the future had now become obstacles they each had to overcome.
Seiya took the initiative, dropping into the starting stance of the Pegasus Meteor Fist. His dark pupils flickered with unshakeable determination.
"Hyoga, you’d better surrender. I don’t want to hurt you! I have a reason why I absolutely must win this championship!"
Seiya was one of the orphans adopted by Mitsumasa Kido years ago. His older sister had gone missing while he was away training at the Sanctuary. Saori Kido had promised him that if he could win the Galaxian Wars, she would mobilize the full power of the Kido Foundation to help him find her.
To reunite with his sister, Seiya was willing to lay his life on the line to win the tournament and claim the Sagittarius Gold Cloth.
In Hyoga’s mind, however, the cold and lonely silhouette of that man surfaced.
Given teacher Alex’s cruel and cold-blooded nature, if he failed to win the championship, his teacher might truly erase every trace of his mother from this world.
Hyoga gritted his teeth and slowly shook his head.
"I’m sorry, Seiya. But I have a reason I cannot afford to lose either!"
Seiya wasn’t surprised. Those who managed to become Bronze Saints were the most elite among the orphans, and every single one of them possessed a will of iron.
Seiya’s face brimmed with fighting spirit.
"Then let’s see whose fists are faster!"
Pegasus Meteor Fist!
Diamond Dust!
Seiya’s fists transformed into a sky full of shooting stars, raining down on his opponent as densely as a torrential storm.
In front of Hyoga, an ice-blue vortex condensed, carrying a frigid air capable of freezing anything as it met the attack head-on.
The two completely different energies clashed violently in the center of the ring. The resulting shockwave made the surrounding safety barriers rattle and hum.
At that exact moment, over in the competitors’ viewing area, Shun’s Nebula Chain suddenly flared to life, both ends pointing directly toward the Gold Cloth.
His pupils shrank, and he cried out in warning.
"Look out! Something’s coming!"
Like a bat tearing through the night sky, a dark silhouette smashed through the Colosseum’s glass dome, plummeting onto the exhibition platform with a howling rush of wind.
The man had a cold, stern face, and a powerful, dark aura surged around him, seemingly devouring the very light in his vicinity.
The moment Shun got a clear look at the intruder, his pupils contracted sharply, and he cried out in disbelief.
"Brother! What... what are you doing here?"
The sudden interloper was none other than Ikki, the Phoenix Saint—Shun’s biological older brother!
Years ago, Mitsumasa Kido had adopted one hundred orphans and sent them to various training grounds around the world to learn the combat skills of the Saints.
Shun had originally drawn Death Queen Island, a literal purgatory renowned for its merciless training. With his gentle and soft-spoken nature, he would have undoubtedly perished there.
But his brother Ikki had stepped forward. To protect his younger sibling, Ikki volunteered to go to Death Queen Island in Shun’s place, enduring that hellish training.
They had been separated for ten long years!
Who could have expected their reunion to happen under such circumstances?
Ikki seemed entirely oblivious to the shock and confusion in Shun’s eyes. He let out a cold sneer as he grabbed the heavy box containing the Sagittarius Gold Cloth with a single hand.
The Phoenix wings on his back suddenly flared, and he launched himself into the sky.
"Put down the Cloth!"
"Brother, stop!"
