Chapter 148: Chapter 74: World-Devouring Hollow - Chaost, Ade’s Request! (Part 2)
Ichibe was even more astonished. For a mere suit of armor to possess such majestic and boundless power... if this man named Divine King were to descend in his true body, just what kind of earth-shattering scene would that be?
Seeing that there were too many people present, making it inconvenient to communicate with his teacher, Ade flew up toward the surface through the massive hole the Cloth had created during its descent.
"Teacher, come with me!"
As the two arrived at the surface, Alex immediately felt an incredibly tyrannical spiritual pressure crashing over him. This was absolutely not the oppressive aura an ordinary Menos Grande could possess.
Alex looked up at the sky, and his entire field of vision was instantly filled by a gigantic monstrosity.
Aside from the desert beneath their feet, their surroundings were completely engulfed by this colossal monster!
This Menos Grande used the entire world as its vessel. Its body resembled an endless, pitch-black nebula, slowly squirming in the darkness. Every contraction and expansion was accompanied by the opening and closing of countless tiny Hollow holes, looking like festering wounds on the very skin of the world.
Looking closely, the body of this massive Hollow was woven from billions of twisting strands of black Reishi mist. Within the black mist, crimson patterns of light continuously churned.
Those were the souls it had devoured, completely pulverized under the crushing weight of its spiritual pressure, letting out ceaseless wails of agony.
It didn’t have a fixed head, but floating in the densest core of the black mist were three pairs of overlapping, gigantic eyes. The whites of the eyes were a deathly, ashen gray, and the pupils were bottomless black holes, surrounded by jagged, Hollow-like patterns.
With every blink, countless powerful Ceros erupted from its eyes.
These black-and-red Ceros bombarded the ground like falling meteors, smashing everything in their path to dust!
Most terrifying of all were the several massive Hollow holes in the center of its body!
These holes spun slowly, forcefully extracting the Reishi from the void to condense into massive Reishi whirlpools. At the center of these whirlpools, new Hollow holes were constantly being born, slowly sucking all surrounding matter, energy, and even space itself into its black mist body.
Ade and Alex stood side-by-side, gazing up at this colossal Hollow. Ade’s voice was filled with deep emotion and memories.
"Teacher, ten years have passed since you left. We poured everything we had into purifying Hollows, and the world was gradually returning to normal."
Ade clenched his fists, a trace of reluctance flashing through his eyes.
"But then, it suddenly appeared. Its appearance made me realize that it feels as if the entire world is actively resisting our efforts!"
"We call it the World-Devouring Hollow—Chaost!"
"Even fighting with everything we have, we cannot kill it!"
Alex remained silent. Although this gigantic Menos Grande was terrifying, it didn’t seem entirely unsolvable to him. Having awakened the Eighth Sense, he could now be considered a demigod.
Other than true gods, there was nothing he couldn’t kill.
But what happens after he resolves this Hollow problem?
Alex knew perfectly well that the current Bleach world was inherently flawed and imperfect.
The birth of this world was like that of a premature, deformed child. Hollows and humans coexisted in the same realm, with no clear boundary between life and death.
To form the future four realms—the World of the Living, Soul Society, Hueco Mundo, and Hell—there had to be a linchpin to stabilize their balance.
And according to the history he knew, this linchpin was built upon Ade, the future Soul King.
To allow the world to cycle normally, Ade would have to sacrifice his own body. He would have his arms—representing stagnation and progress—severed, his eyes that could pierce the future gouged out, and his life-sustaining internal organs removed. Ultimately, he would become a special existence that was neither alive nor dead, existing neither in the present nor the past, forever imprisoned within a crystal vessel in the Soul King Palace.
"So, did you call for me to seek help?" Alex’s voice echoed from the Cloth.
Ade shook his head.
"Not entirely!"
"Actually, teacher, as my strength has grown, these eyes of mine can now see many things that others cannot. They all think I am afraid, but the truth is, I am just confused about the future path of humanity."
Ade suddenly turned to look at him. A yearning light flickered within his four pupils. His voice was soft, and the corners of his mouth curled into a faint smile.
"Teacher, I remember you saying that in your world, there is a sun, a moon, and a sky full of stars. You said it was so beautiful it could intoxicate the soul..."
"Teacher, once we deal with Chaost, can you take me to see your world?"
