Chapter 143: Chapter 72: History Repeating Itself? An Unexpected Prayer! (Part 1)

The black mist inside the Aquarius Temple grew increasingly dense. The light from the palace lamps was compressed into faint halos, and even the starry map of the Aquarius constellation on the dome lost its brilliance, leaving only a cold outline.

Alex’s cold snort pierced through the mist, carrying unquestionable absolute resolve. He slowly raised his hands above his head. Ice-blue freezing air surged out like a tide, condensing behind him into a blurry yet majestic phantom of a goddess.

The goddess lifted her water pitcher. As soon as the frigid air poured from the spout, the temperature of the entire palace plummeted. The ice layer on the ground thickened at a visible rate, and even the air itself froze into tiny ice crystals suspended in mid-air.

"With this strike, if you cannot comprehend Absolute Zero, then die!"

Alex’s voice, wrapped in biting cold, smashed into Hyoga’s ears.

Hyoga’s heart contracted sharply, his blue pupils filled with shock.

Scenes of past teachings flashed through his mind. His master had never used an ultimate technique against him. Even when he slacked off during training or was slow to grasp a technique, the most his teacher would do was shoot ice spikes into his body as a form of discipline—painful, but never fatal!

But today, his teacher was actually going to use the strongest ice-attribute ultimate technique against him, creating a truly deadly scenario!

He finally understood his master’s resolve. If he continued to hesitate, not only would he delay the final moments to save Saori, but he would also fail to live up to his teacher’s painstaking efforts.

"I understand!"

Hyoga took a deep breath and raised his hands above his head. His ice-blue Cosmo burned madly in his palms, and the Cygnus relief on his Cloth lit up with a dazzling radiance.

"Aurora Execution!"

Boom!

The two ultimate ice techniques collided in the center of the palace. The shockwave of frigid air violently sent Hyoga flying. He crashed heavily against the wall, spitting out blood. The chest armor of his Cygnus Cloth cracked with several fine fissures.

Alex’s voice echoed from the black mist. His eyes were bloodshot, and his voice was so cold it lacked a single trace of warmth.

"Hyoga, you still haven’t comprehended Absolute Zero? You disappoint me!"

Hyoga climbed up from the ground. Feeling the intense killing intent emanating from his teacher, his heart trembled.

He had never seen his teacher this furious. In the past, his teacher was always aloof and calm; he had never seen him lose his temper.

Hyoga wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and raised his hands once again, his Cosmo burning even stronger than before.

"I understand, teacher! Again!"

"Excellent!" Alex’s voice carried a hint of approval. "To unleash the true Aurora Execution, you must stop the movement of all atoms and achieve Absolute Zero! Show me your growth!"

It was another violent collision. Hyoga was sent flying again, the bones in his body feeling as though they had fallen apart.

This clash was repeated several times, until he collapsed onto the ground, lacking even the strength to raise his arms. He could only pant heavily, watching his teacher walk toward him step by step.

"It seems I have still been too merciful to you."

His teacher raised a hand and pressed it against the void. A mirror of ice materialized out of thin air.

The mirror reflected a scene at the bottom of the sea. A serene-faced young woman lay inside a sunken ship, surrounded by roses. It was none other than Natassia, Hyoga’s mother, resting eternally at the bottom of the Siberian sea.

Hyoga’s eyes widened sharply, his blue pupils filled with absolute terror. He struggled to get up, his voice hoarse.

"No, teacher... don’t! Give me one more chance, I will definitely comprehend it!"

"Your mother’s existence is your greatest weakness; it prevents your heart from becoming as cold as ice!"

His teacher’s voice was completely devoid of emotion. "Hyoga, it is time for you to grow up!"

He abruptly threw a punch. A stream of white freezing air pierced through the dome of the Aquarius Temple, shooting straight toward the Siberian seabed like a bolt of lightning!

"Stop!" Hyoga screamed mournfully, tears mixed with blood sliding down from the corners of his eyes. Yet, he could only watch helplessly as the freezing current vanished into the horizon, lacking even a sliver of strength to stop it.

In the next second, a violent tremor transmitted from the ice mirror. The freezing current precisely struck the sunken ship. Natassia’s remains, along with the shattered wreckage, slowly slid down into the bottomless abyss of the deep sea.

Hyoga’s body shuddered violently. His blue Cosmo instantly became bone-chillingly cold, even more piercing than the freezing air within the Aquarius Temple.

He lowered his head, his blonde hair covering his face, leaving only his hoarse murmurs to be heard.

"T-Teacher..."

This time, without Alex needing to urge him, Hyoga slowly raised his hands, bringing them above his head.

There was no hesitation left in his blue eyes, only absolute resolve. His ice-blue Cosmo condensed in his palms.

This time, his technique was purer and more piercingly cold than ever before.

Opposite Hyoga, Alex also raised his hands. Two phantoms of the goddess slowly emerged within the Aquarius Temple!

Almost simultaneously, two voices shouted out.
