Chapter 125: Extra Chapter #3 - Not Necessarily Canon
[Sixteen Years in the Future - City of Argus]
At the Hikifune family’s house, also known by the city’s residents as the home of the five little demons, Sylas woke up with a huge yawn as the light coming through the window hit him in the face.
[In case you didn’t know, Kirio’s last name is Hikifune.]
"Mhmmm..." he groaned, twisting around beneath the sheets as he tried to get a little more sleep.
"Luca, close the curtain," he ordered his brother, who was closest to the window.
However, no matter how long he waited, the curtain didn’t close. Annoyed, he sat up and, when he looked toward Luca’s bed, he realized he wasn’t there. That struck him as strange. Luca was lazy, and he was usually the first one to get up.
Everything became clearer when he looked at the calendar on the wall.
"Ah... of course," he sighed tiredly when he noticed that the day had been marked with large red arrows.
Today was his birthday and, of course, it was also his brothers’ and sisters’ birthday.
He flopped back down onto the bed for a few more minutes before forcing himself to get up, get dressed, and get ready to go downstairs before his siblings ate all the food.
As he passed in front of his sisters’ room, he discovered that it was already empty. However, the inside was a complete mess, with everything scattered around and numerous things lying all over the floor.
Sylas silently thanked the heavens that he only had to share a room with Luca and didn’t have to share one with his sisters.
When he went downstairs, as expected, he found his siblings gathered around a large table, already devouring all the food.
"Good morning," he greeted everyone in general, receiving no response, as they barely even noticed him.
Unlike the others, his mother did greet him from the kitchen, waving a spatula.
"Good morning. I saved your share of breakfast," she told him.
Sylas nodded gratefully as he took a seat. Just a few seconds later, a small GIR model robot, the family’s butler, brought his breakfast over, carrying a tray on top of his head, and carefully placed it in front of him.
"Thank you," Sylas said to the little robot.
GIR responded with a small smile and a military salute. Of course, there was no need to thank him since he was a robot, but everyone had gotten used to doing so after having him in the house for so many years.
By that point, he was another member of the family, and although he was already a somewhat outdated model, none of them had any intention of replacing him.
Sylas, just like his siblings, devoured all his food in only a few bites, something his mother didn’t particularly like because, according to her, as a boy, he was supposed to show a little more "manners" while eating.
A suggestion that Sylas, just like Luca, completely ignored.
Even after everyone finished eating, none of them got up from their seats. They all remained where they were, expectantly waiting, although the most impatient ones were the twins, who bounced in their seats and pounded their fists against the table while gripping their utensils.
"Cake! Cake! Cake!" they chanted impatiently, waiting to receive it.
Their wishes were fulfilled soon enough. Just a few moments later, their mother emerged from the kitchen alongside GIR, who was carrying a considerably large cake with sixteen candles placed in the center.
"Yaaay!" both twins shouted at the same time, leaning forward with the intention of blowing them out.
However, when they realized the other was trying to do the same thing, they both narrowed their eyes before lunging at each other to stop the other from doing it. The two ended up falling to the floor, where they began fighting without anyone bothering to stop them.
Meanwhile, Sylva, their sister with glasses and a hat, remained staring blankly into space, completely absorbed in her own thoughts and oblivious to what was happening around her.
In the end, only Sylas and Lyra, the shyest of them all, remained. Noticing that Lyra seemed to want to blow out the candles, Sylas extended a hand, giving her the chance to do it.
Lyra’s eyes lit up with excitement. Without wasting any time, she leaned forward and blew out all the candles in a single breath.
"Clap, clap, clap!" Kirio applauded, celebrating another year.
The twins stopped fighting and got back up to look at the extinguished candles.
Then they turned their eyes toward Lyra and narrowed them resentfully, clearly determined to get their revenge later for such an offense.
"Ahem, ahem!" Kirio coughed into her hand, waiting for everyone to look at her. "I just wanted to thank my five children for giving me another wonderful year together," she said, raising her glass in a toast.
However, she was the only one doing so, since she had flatly refused to give alcohol to her beloved pups, even though they weren’t exactly puppies anymore.
"Each and every one of you is a very important part of my life, and you make me feel proud and happy to be your mother..."
Seeing the twins beginning to fidget impatiently, she sighed in amusement.
"...You can eat the cake now."
That was the signal they had been waiting for. Without hesitation, they immediately lunged at the cake, grabbing huge chunks with their hands and stuffing them into their mouths like the savages they were.
Unlike them, their siblings each took a slice, making sure to avoid the parts those two had already touched.
Kirio didn’t mind. She was already used to certain behaviors from her children. Besides, there were more important things to talk about.
"You’re sixteen now..." she congratulated them. "...Throughout all this time, I’ve made sure that all of you received the best education and training possible. And not to brag, but I think I’ve done a great job as a single mother."
Sylas, along with the rest of his siblings, nodded in agreement. After all, it was the truth. Kirio had raised them in the best way possible, adapting to all the problems that came with raising five highly destructive and extremely territorial little wolves.
"But you’ll soon become adults," she continued, this time with a slightly more serious tone. "And this place is starting to get too small for you."
"Great..." Luna said, lifting her face out of the cake. "...She’s kicking us out."
Lucas nodded in agreement.
"I knew this was going to happen!" he complained before hitting his sister on the shoulder. "And this is your fault! It’s probably because you eat so much, you glutton!"
Luna growled, showing her canines.
"No! This is your fault! She’s kicking us out because you eat too much!"
"Grrrr!" the twins pressed their foreheads together, ready to start another fight.
Kirio, suspecting that they might start fighting again, pulled a broomstick from behind her chair and smacked both twins on the head with a single swing.
"Ow!" the two complained at the same time, rubbing their heads in pain.
"I’m not kicking you out," Kirio clarified, trying to calm them down. "What I’m saying is that the city of Argus has already given you everything it can. I feel that keeping you here won’t do anything good for your growth."
Sylas nodded in agreement as he put the last bite of cake into his mouth. In fact, he had already planned to begin a journey outside Argus, although he still hadn’t decided where he should start. Remnant was a vast place, full of mysteries, and each kingdom had something unique to offer him.
Although he had a few things to say, he decided not to interrupt her. If his mother had just brought up the subject, then she surely had some kind of proposal prepared.
And, as it turned out, she did.
A huge smile spread across Kirio’s face.
"So I enrolled you all in Beacon!" she shouted excitedly, waiting for some kind of reaction.
However, she got none.
All her children looked at one another, completely confused. And for good reason. Of all the possible destinations Sylas had considered, attending a Huntsman academy had not been one of them for several reasons.
One of them was that he genuinely didn’t believe there was anything they could teach him, but the other, and much more important reason, was...
"Academies don’t accept werewolves," he said in a neutral tone, hoping his mother hadn’t forgotten that little detail.
The rest of his siblings immediately nodded in agreement.
For the past fifteen years, ever since the appearance of the werewolves and their attempted invasion of the city of Vale, their admission into the academies had been prohibited.
That didn’t mean they had been expelled from every kingdom, since, as far as they knew, there were still werewolves living in the cities closest to the island of Menagerie.
Kirio, however, didn’t lose her smile. "They will this year!"
Carefully, she pressed down on GIR’s head, causing the little robot to project a series of documents from its eyes in front of them.
"Multispecies Cooperation Initiative," Sylas read, rather impressed.
He didn’t bother asking how she had obtained that information before it had been made public. He knew perfectly well that his mother was a veteran Huntress, and influence and connections were things she had never lacked.
"Uh-huh!" Kirio nodded, satisfied to see his reaction. "To stop the escalation of violence and hostilities between humans, elves, orcs, demons, and so on, Huntsman academies are being transformed into neutral territories for peaceful coexistence."
"Each species has already agreed to send a delegation of young people as a show of good faith."
Sylas’s eyes widened with anticipation, and his body filled with a sensation he could only describe as excitement. Not only would he finally be able to compare his strength to that of the werewolves from Menagerie, but he would also have the opportunity to face other species and discover what kinds of enemies he might encounter in the future.
"Don’t tell me that, even after everything I just told you, you don’t want to go," Kirio asked teasingly, knowing perfectly well what the answer would be.
"Of course we’re going!" Sylas shouted, getting up from the table with obvious excitement.
"What? Don’t we get a say in this?" Lucas asked, offended, drawing everyone’s attention.
"You don’t want to go?" Sylas asked.
Lucas clicked his teeth.
"Of course I do, but you could ask before making the decision. I don’t think there’s a single one of us who doesn’t want to go-"
"I don’t want to go," Lyra said, gathering all her courage to interrupt them.
"WHAT?!" all her siblings asked at the same time, looking at her in obvious confusion.
Lyra took a deep breath, trying to remain calm as she prepared to explain her decision.
"I really don’t feel the need or want to leave Argus... I like this city."
Her words caused everyone at the table to fall into a rather uncomfortable silence.
"Is it because the twins steal the sweets you hide under your bed?" Sylva asked, pointing toward the disastrous duo.
"HEY!" both twins complained at the same time.
Lyra shook her head.
"It’s not that..." she said, much to their relief.
"See?! It’s not our fault! Besides, it’s probably Sylas’s fault with all his constant orders and his ’fight for dominance’ challenges."
"BAM!"
Sylas slammed his fist against the table, making it shake.
"I’ll make you swallow those words by force!" he declared, clearly offended.
"See! It’s his fault!"
"ENOUGH!" Lyra shouted.
Her tone immediately made everyone fall silent, surprised to hear her raise her voice, unable to remember the last time she had done so.
"This is just my decision," she continued calmly. "It’s something I’ve already thought about, and I’m comfortable with it."
Everyone remained silent for a moment, taking in her words and looking at one another as they slowly reached a mutual understanding.
"If that’s what you want," the twins finally conceded, although the obvious disappointment on their faces showed that they weren’t exactly happy with the decision.
"We accept your decision, and we won’t force you," Sylva continued, showing a little more support.
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone’s eyes turned toward Sylas. Although none of them would willingly admit it, they had all already come to see him as some sort of secondary leader after their mother, of course.
And considering that Kirio wouldn’t be with them at Beacon, the leadership would mainly fall to him. His words would carry more weight than ever.
"Why are you looking at me?" Sylas asked with a hint of amusement. "She already made her decision."
Everyone smiled when they heard him, taking those cold words as a positive response.
"Yay!" they celebrated, satisfied that they had finally reached an agreement.
As they did so, Sylva approached Lyra and leaned slightly toward her.
"Don’t worry. Ever since the ’bathroom accident,’ I’ve been working on a teleportation glyph. As soon as I figure out how to stop things from catching fire, we’ll be able to see each other every day."
Lyra broke into a cold sweat when she heard that.
"Yeah, don’t worry. Take your time. I’ll be here when you come back."
The day passed fairly normally. There were some gifts and a huge improvised party that ended up forming in the city when the residents found out that four of the five little demons would be leaving to study in another kingdom.

[The Bathroom Accident - Many Years Ago]
Inside the bathroom, Kirio looked fondly at her five little pups, who were covered in mud and staring at the screen of their Scroll, practically hypnotized by a children’s program.
Meanwhile, she discreetly turned on the faucet and began filling the bathtub. She had to admit that letting her children play in the mud probably hadn’t been her best idea, but they looked so happy jumping around and rolling in the dirt that she had decided to let them enjoy themselves for a little while.
"Ah..." she sighed tiredly.
Now came the difficult part.
With the bathtub completely full and the temperature just right, Kirio turned off the screen, snapping the five little pups out of their trance.
They all looked around in confusion, not understanding where they were or how they had ended up in the bathroom.
Of course, Sylas, being the cleverest one, was the first to realize what was happening. However, before he could do anything, Kirio, knowing perfectly well that he would be the most troublesome one, grabbed him first and put him straight into the bathtub.
"Yipe! Yipe! Yipe!" Sylas complained as his cruel mother began wetting and soaping him without giving him any chance to escape, despite his fierce resistance.
Of course, this terrifying scene was witnessed by the rest of the pups, who froze in fear as they watched their mother, the being they trusted the most, practically committing filicide.
Every single one of them began trembling in fear. Some even had tears welling up in their eyes as they realized that their mother wouldn’t stop with Sylas and that they would be next.
With that thought in mind, Sylva gathered her courage, refusing to accept that her story would end that way, much less under those circumstances.
She narrowed her eyes, quickly wiped away a few tears, and adjusted her witch hat as she began devising a plan.
Unfortunately, time was not on her side.
Almost immediately, Kirio finished with Sylas and placed him on the floor, completely wrapped in a towel and trembling from the traumatic experience.
Sylva’s eyes widened when she saw her mother extend her arms toward her.
But this time, she didn’t cower.
After her mother’s betrayal and the tragic loss of her brother, she was next in command, and she would use that newfound authority to buy them some time.
"Wof, wof, wof, wof!" she barked repeatedly in puppy language, giving precise orders to her siblings, who, despite their fear, eventually followed them, albeit hesitantly and with no small amount of difficulty.
All the pups, with the exception of Sylva, stood up on their hind legs, catching Kirio’s attention, and then began dancing the can-can one after another.
"Ta-ra-ra-ran, ta-ra-ra-ran, nananana...♫"
The three pups kicked one of their little legs as high as they could, keeping themselves steady on the other and repeating the movement over and over. The distraction worked wonderfully.
Kirio froze completely, her mouth hanging open as she watched her children dance in more or less coordinated fashion, not quite understanding what was happening.
Sylva didn’t waste any time. This wouldn’t distract her forever. She quickly began examining her surroundings, looking for an escape route as her eyes scanned every corner of the bathroom. She looked toward the door, which, unfortunately, was locked.
"Damn it," she thought to herself, completely abandoning the idea of using it. Even if she managed to run all the way there, she wouldn’t be able to reach the doorknob before her mother caught her.
She then turned her gaze toward the ventilation grate, but it had been securely screwed shut ever since the pups had managed to crawl into the ducts, something that had taken Kirio several hours to get them out of.
Sylva continued searching, going over one possibility after another in her mind and discarding each plan as soon as she found a problem with it.
Until she finally saw it.
Behind her mother was a small rectangular window located near the very top of the wall.
It was open!
The odds of her being able to reach it were extremely low, but they weren’t zero, and that was more than enough reason to try. Without hesitation, she closed her eyes and concentrated, using all of her mental ability as she searched for a way to create a glyph that could help her.
She thought about the teleportation glyph, but dismissed the idea almost immediately. She was still years away from reaching the calculations necessary to create something like that. It would have to be something much simpler.
And so she did exactly that.
Using her small reserves of aura and putting in a tremendous amount of effort, a small glyph began forming beneath her, glowing faintly once it was complete. Sylva opened her eyes and gave a small, smug smile.
"Time for takeoff!" she thought as the glyph slowly began to rise, carrying Sylva toward the small window.
She didn’t turn around to look at her siblings. Her little puppy heart wouldn’t be able to bear seeing them one last time. It was unfortunate that she couldn’t take them with her, but sadly, she didn’t have enough aura or concentration to create any more glyphs.
A small tear rolled down her cheek, but she didn’t stop.
"I’ll live on in their name," she thought with determination.
She already had everything planned out. She would escape into the forest, where she would live for a few years eating rabbits. Then she would go to Vacuo and work as a waitress to pay for her law studies.
Finally, she would climb the ranks of the power hierarchy until she became the undisputed ruler of the continent of Solitas and, once she had accomplished all that, she would establish a law against forced baths.
Her plan was perfect... or at least, that’s what she thought.
While Sylva was lost in her thoughts, she didn’t notice that Kirio had stopped paying attention to the rest of the pups and was now watching her with considerable amazement as her little daughter floated beside her, slowly making her way toward the window at an incredibly slow speed.
She watched her for a few more seconds before letting out a small laugh.
"I guess you really did want a bath," she teased, reaching out and grabbing Sylva without any difficulty, destroying the glyph in the process before beginning to bathe her.
"Ow! Ow! Ow!" Sylva cried, unable to understand how her plan had failed so horribly as she called out to her siblings for help.
But it was already too late. There was nothing they could do to help her, and, to be honest, even if they could, they wouldn’t have after seeing her try to abandon them only a few seconds earlier.
Now every pup was on their own.
The twins didn’t need to say anything. They simply exchanged a look and nodded at the same time.
It was time to reveal their secret weapons.
The first was Luna. She concentrated as her body began to glow, becoming covered in an effect resembling tiny crystals. It only took her a few seconds to complete the transformation, and when she stopped glowing, her appearance had completely changed.
In her place was the perfect form of a cat.
"Hahaha! I’m a genius," Luna thought proudly, pleased with her own intelligence.
Everyone knew that cats didn’t take baths, so with her new form, she should be completely safe.
...Or so she thought.
Because as soon as Kirio finished bathing Sylva, she reached out, grabbed Luna, and dispelled her illusion before taking her straight to the bathtub.
"Ow! Ow! Ow!"
Lucas heard his sister’s cries as she was being bathed and could only think about how stupid she was, mainly because she had chosen to turn into a cat when they didn’t even have one in the house.
Now it was his turn to show her how it was really done.
His body glowed for an instant, and then a perfect illusion of his identical twin sister appeared over his body.
"I’m a genius," he thought proudly.
His logic was flawless. His mother had no reason to bathe him because he now looked exactly like Luna, whom she was already bathing at that moment. It wouldn’t make sense for her to bathe her twice.
"Hahaha...! Huh?"
His laughter came to an abrupt stop when Kirio grabbed him and took him straight to the bathtub.
Finally, there was Lyra, who by that point was the only survivor. She watched her siblings in terror, all of them soaking wet and wrapped in towels, while she tried to think of some way to escape.
But she couldn’t think of any.
When she saw her mother reaching out toward her, she realized that her turn had finally come.
Lyra did the only thing she could think of at that moment.
She fainted.
The little girl collapsed onto the floor, completely limp, making Kirio’s job considerably easier.

**Author’s Note:**
Another filler Chapter! YEEEEiii... No, wait, Yei? Well, it’s what I can give you for now. I’ve been busy doing... what? Very important things... like catching up on Dragon Ball. I didn’t know it had been six years since the Moro arc. I thought it had come out the year before.
[You can skip the rest from here, I’m just rambling.]
Honestly, I’ve also been writing some other fanfic ideas that I liked. And yes, one of them is Dragon Ball. I thought, "What predictable fanfics." I can’t remember the last DB fic that actually surprised me. Most of them are reincarnations as Saiyans, or as humans who use the Dragon Balls to wish themselves into becoming Saiyans, start using a gravity machine, and then power up like crazy.
And I’m like, "Fuck that, there has to be another power system besides that."
And I was right. I had forgotten that ***MAGIC*** existed.
So I told my cat, "HEY! That could be interesting"
My cat looked at me in confusion: "You mean someone who doesn’t seek raw power, but instead the versatility of magic?"
Me, who else?: "YES!"
With that idea in mind, I started looking up magical things from Dragon Ball and, honestly, there were a lot of things I had completely forgotten about. Like the crystal balls that allow you to see great distances, the Bashō-sen, which eventually got forgotten over time, and abilities like being intangible against attacks, shapeshifting, healing, etc.
Why always follow the path of masters like Master Roshi and Kami? Why not go with the cool ones instead, like Boss Rabbit or Uranai Baba?
Did you know that witch never died throughout all the arcs? Literally, when they blew up the world or Majin Buu killed everyone on the planet, she was just chilling in the Other World, safe and sound.
When I realized all that, I saw a ton of potential in it. So, just for fun, I ended up writing a bunch of stuff around that concept.
Anyway, I’ve finished wasting your time.
That’s all. See you around!
