Chapter 1072: Chapter 160

"Dazhuang!" Hu Xiaodong hastily pulled an arrow and drew his bow, but distant water can’t solve immediate fire; the zombie’s head was already leaning in, ready to tear apart Wei Dazhuang’s skull in the next second.

At that critical moment, Wei Dazhuang’s innate survival instinct erupted.

Who knows where the strength came from, but Wei Dazhuang swung a punch squarely on the "Jumper’s" forehead.

The power behind this desperate punch at death’s door was evident, as it directly knocked the "Jumper" over to a 50-degree angle.

Wei Dazhuang didn’t hesitate after succeeding, he rose up, turning defense into offense, pressing his advantage. He was already large and sturdy; with this maneuver, the off-balance "Jumper" had no chance to resist and was pinned to the ground.

Straddling over, upper body, Wei Dazhuang completed this riding posture, using his knees to tightly restrain the beast’s flailing hands and immediately locked the Double Scythe around the "Jumper’s" neck.

As if recalling the tragic deaths of his wife and child, Wei Dazhuang’s eyes were bloodshot, veins popped out on his forehead.

At this moment, only one thought filled his mind: to sever this beast’s head and take this scoundrel’s life.

His arms gradually swelled as the sharp Scythe Blade pressed deeper into the beast’s neck under Wei Dazhuang’s pressure.

Even so, the "Jumper" still grinned eerily.

As if mocking Wei Dazhuang for his limited strength.

However, the sneer didn’t last long, as the blade continued to cut deeper, eventually separating its head completely from its body.

After the dismemberment, Wei Dazhuang still wasn’t satisfied; he turned around and slashed another zombie’s head, stringing it like a gourd.

The creature was completely lifeless now.

Seeing Wei Dazhuang safe, Hua Biao and Hu Xiaodong let out a long sigh of relief.

Hua Biao walked over in a few steps, reached out concernedly: "Dazhuang brother, are you hurt anywhere?"

Using Hua Biao’s help, Wei Dazhuang stood up and shook his head: "I’m alright. Let’s keep going!"

He flicked off the blood stains on the blade; even Hua Biao, a military man, was impressed by Wei Dazhuang’s zealous zombie slaughter.

While they were fighting enthusiastically, Tang Xiaoquan and others inside the store also got started.

The primary task was transporting cement and yellow sand; such wall-building essentials were crucial for the survivor team, the more the better.

Huo Yuankai discovered two hidden zombies after exploring the back hall; no words were needed, he dealt with them swiftly, then called his student to join the transport brigade.

As they say, many hands make light work; the efficiency of the five-person transport team was quick.

About 10 minutes later, Hu Xiaodong, Hua Biao, and Wei Dazhuang finally cleared the visible zombies from the street.

With that done, the three returned to the convoy location, Hu Xiaodong glanced at the results of his brothers, very satisfied.

But looking at the increasingly full minivan, Hu Xiaodong couldn’t help but feel annoyed.

Why?

Because the van’s carrying capacity was overestimated; even with unnecessary seats folded down, the space remained limited.

This just won’t do!? Having found a commercial street specifically selling building materials, and with their team having expended so much effort and nearly risking two lives to clean out the zombies,

if they don’t take back as many supplies as possible, won’t it be a huge waste?

While Hu Xiaodong was pondering this, Tang Xiaoquan happened to come out, and upon meeting, they greeted each other: "Hu Ge, is everything settled?"

"Yes, it’s settled!"

"Cheers for your effort!"

"You guys worked hard. By the way, is Xiao Luo inside?" Hu Xiaodong pointed at the store and asked.

"He’s inside, moving cement. That guy’s transport skills are worth it; he’s stronger than us, haha."

Despite the laughter, Tang Xiaoquan admired Luo Baochun’s stamina.

Since he himself struggled to carry even one bag of cement, while Luo Baochun briskly handled two without breaking a sweat.

This really makes one envious.

"Alright, I’ll go find him inside. You stay busy." With that, Hu Xiaodong headed straight inside, with Wei Dazhuang patting Tang Xiaoquan’s shoulder and following closely.

"Hey, Xiao Luo!" He called out, turning Luo Baochun around.

"Come on, put that down; I need you to do something."

"Alright, coming over now." Luo Baochun dropped the sandbag he had just hoisted over his shoulder and jogged over to Hu Xiaodong: "Hu Ge, what’s up? Any orders?"

"Here’s the deal, I looked it over, and the van’s load capacity still isn’t enough. It’s not easy for us to make a trip, so we should carry as much as possible. You don’t need to handle things in the store, go out and get me more cars."

"No problem, how many do you want?" Luo Baochun seemed accustomed to getting cars, looking quite relaxed.

After a moment’s thought, Hu Xiaodong counted with his fingers: "Our team has 3 cars now; you, me, Huazi, Dazhuang can all drive. Qiangzi and Xiaotang can’t, so we can only get one."

"What about Huo Ge?"

"Him?" Hu Xiaodong raised his eyebrows and glanced in the direction of Huo Yuankai. He was busy with his student, moving bags.

After a moment’s deliberation, Hu Xiaodong shook his head: "Forget it, after going through so much, having him drive might not be safe, right?"

Though he said this, Hu Xiaodong’s worry wasn’t truly about Huo Yuankai’s experiences.

His real reason for not wanting to ask Huo Yuankai was his cautiousness towards him.

After all, as Hu Xiaodong had said, Huo Yuankai isn’t one of their own. If he found a car and drove off, they would lose more than just gas; unforeseeable issues might arise.

So weighing everything, Hu Xiaodong felt it better to load one less car to avoid any problems.

"Alright, Hu Ge, I’ll do as you say. Without anything else, I’ll go out and get the car now."

"Okay, go ahead." After sending off Luo Baochun, Hu Xiaodong felt uneasy, even though the street’s zombies had been cleared, the ones in sight, no one could guarantee the other hidden spots weren’t occupied.

With that in mind, Hu Xiaodong turned around and instructed Hua Biao behind him: "Huazi, could you go out and watch over Xiao Luo? It’s not too safe for him to be out on the street alone."

Hua Biao nodded, no objections, and after responding "sure," grabbed his long and short weapons and headed out.

The two groups each engaged in their tasks.

Inside, with Hu Xiaodong and Wei Dazhuang joining the effort, transport efficiency instantly increased.

Yet, to speed up and effectively complete the job, Hu Xiaodong still allocated duties within the team.

"Xiaotang, Qiangzi, Huo Ge, and you," unable to remember the youth’s name, Hu Xiaodong pointed, "you four pile up the supplies by the entrance. Then, Dazhuang and I will load them onto the car."

This teamwork might seem like manpower distribution, but it served to greatly boost efficiency.
