"Whoa. You’re not going to cry, are you? I haven’t insulted you or hit you.

"You’re the one who came up to talk to me. I was just being honest that I don’t like you. I’m a bit blunt. If you can’t handle it, then don’t hang around me. You can’t force your way into a circle where you don’t belong."

Yun Zijin showed Feng Chenchen no courtesy whatsoever. And because of what Yun Zijin said, Feng Chenchen couldn’t bring herself to cry.

She had, in fact, planned to use tears to win others’ sympathy, hoping they would then turn on Yun Zijin and criticize her.

But Yun Zijin had called her out, asking if she was about to cry. If she started crying now, it would look completely intentional.

But Lord knows, Feng Chenchen really did feel like crying at that moment.

She never expected Yun Zijin to be so difficult to get a handle on.

Her previous "accidental" meeting with Qin Sitong at the school bus stop had also been something she’d planned for a long time.

Striking up a conversation with Qin Sitong had been ridiculously easy, so she assumed Yun Zijin would be much the same.

She hadn’t expected that with Yun Zijin, it would be a nightmare from the very start.

Feng Chenchen wracked her brain, but she couldn’t recall ever offending Yun Zijin. She was completely baffled by the open dislike Yun Zijin showed her.

’If I can’t win Yun Zijin over, it will seriously impact my plans going forward.’

Thinking of this, Feng Chenchen narrowed her eyes. ’I can’t just sit here and wait to fail.’

"Senior Sister Yun, even though you don’t like me, I still really admire you!"

After saying this, Feng Chenchen picked up her Wangyou Milk Tea and left the Wangyou Milk Tea Shop.

Watching Feng Chenchen’s departing figure, Yun Zijin pursed her lips.

’This Feng Chenchen... She’s in a much higher league than Xia Jiajiao and Sheng Tian.’

"Boss Yun, I’ve revised the contract. Please take a look. If there are no problems, I’ll go print out two copies right away."

Gao Mi turned his laptop screen toward Yun Zijin, his face covered in a broad smile.

If he didn’t sign this contract today, Gao Mi definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

Yun Zijin knew Gao Mi was ecstatic. He’d been struggling to find funding for so long and had suddenly found a willing investor. Understanding his excitement, she began to carefully review the revised contract.

She had to admit, for a director, Gao Mi was quite thorough. The revisions he made based on Tang Yu’s notes were quite professional.

"Director Gao, if you don’t mind, please send me the file in PDF format. I want to have Lawyer Tang take a look at it.

"If Lawyer Tang gives it the okay, we can sign this contract."

Yun Zijin trusted her long-time collaborator, Tang Yu, far more than Gao Mi, whom she had just met today.

"Of course! Please, feel free!"

As long as he could get the contract signed, Gao Mi would agree to any request Yun Zijin made.

He needed this investment too badly.

Gao Mi quickly sent the PDF contract file to Yun Zijin.

Yun Zijin immediately forwarded it to Tang Yu.

Tang Yu must have anticipated that Yun Zijin would send the revised contract for his review, because he replied almost instantly with a message: "Got it. One moment."

Yun Zijin wasn’t in a hurry. She had plenty of time, anyway.

Just then, the Wangyou Milk Tea that Chen Chuan had ordered for Gao Mi was ready, and a server brought it to their table.

Even though this was his second time trying Wangyou Milk Tea, Gao Mi was just as blown away as the first.

It was a completely different experience from the first time.

"The person who came up with this recipe is a true genius!"

Gao Mi genuinely couldn’t imagine what kind of person could concoct such a magical recipe.

It was like a fantasy drink that shouldn’t exist in the real world.

If someone had just described it to him, he never would have believed it without tasting it for himself.

Hearing Gao Mi’s words, Yun Zijin blinked.

’As for who created the recipe... no one would be able to answer that for him. Even I don’t know where the system got it from.’

"Just enjoy the drink. No need to overthink it. It’s not like you came up with the recipe."

Chen Chuan could see that Yun Zijin didn’t want to discuss the Wangyou Milk Tea recipe, so he quickly changed the subject.

Fortunately, Tang Yu replied just then. Seeing his confirmation that the contract was fine, Yun Zijin felt relieved and ready to sign.

"It’s all set. Lawyer Tang says the contract is fine. If there are no other issues, we can sign now."

"No problem! I’ll go find somewhere to print the contract right now!"

Gao Mi didn’t want to waste a single moment. He took out a USB drive, copied the contract onto it, then got up and strode quickly outside.

"That’s just his personality. Don’t mind him, Boss Yun."

Chen Chuan, who had been practically invisible up to this point, chimed in to explain Gao Mi’s abrupt departure.

"It’s fine."

Yun Zijin wasn’t an overly demanding client. As long as there were no violations of principle, she generally had no complaints.

Chen Chuan’s impression of Yun Zijin improved even more. ’It’s so rare to find a good client like her these days.’

’Some clients will nitpick over everything, even when you’ve done nothing wrong. There’s just no satisfying them.’

’As service providers, all we can do is bite our tongues and deal with them.’

’If only every client in the world were as easygoing as Boss Yun.’

Before long, Gao Mi came back holding a stack of A4 paper.

"Boss Yun, here’s the printed contract. You can compare it with the file."

Discrepancies between a printed copy and the electronic file were a common occurrence.

This required both signing parties to be vigilant and check everything carefully before signing.

Otherwise, once that signature was on the page, reversing things would be far from simple.

Yun Zijin opened the contract document, compared it line by line, and only nodded after confirming there were no errors. "The contract’s contents are correct. After it’s signed, the investment funds will be transferred to the production’s corporate account listed in the contract within three days.

"I expect every single expenditure from this fund to be detailed with its exact purpose. I will be checking the bank records periodically.

"If I find that anyone has embezzled my money, you will not like the consequences."

Before signing, Yun Zijin made sure to lay out the harsh terms upfront.

"Don’t worry, Boss Yun. I’ll link the account balance alerts to my own phone. I’ll get a text notification for every single payment.

"I absolutely will not give anyone the opportunity to embezzle funds."

This was the show’s one and only investment. Gao Mi treasured it more than his own eyeballs. If anyone dared to embezzle the funds, he wouldn’t even need to wait for Yun Zijin; he’d personally see to it that they ended up in jail.

This put Yun Zijin’s mind mostly at ease. With all issues confirmed, the two of them finally picked up their pens. They signed their names on the signature line and pressed their thumbprints onto the page.

It’s worth mentioning that Gao Mi even produced the ink pad from his own briefcase.

’Yun Zijin really wondered how his briefcase could possibly hold so many things.’

The contract was in triplicate: one for Party A, one for Party B, and one for a third party.

And as Yun Zijin had suggested, the third copy went to Tang Yu’s law firm.
