A hint of suspicion crossed Lu Yunfeng’s face as he looked at Zeng Zong.

A small smile played on Yun Zijin’s lips. "You go have fun. I’m taking them to the station."

"I’m an expert at taking people to the station! Sister Yun, I’ll go with you!"

A fawning smile spread across Lu Yunfeng’s face. He completely forgot about the people he’d been eating with just moments before.

Yun Zijin paid him no mind. They were his own two feet, after all; she couldn’t stop him from going wherever he pleased.

"Lu Yunfeng, you’ve gone too far!"

Zeng Zong felt utterly humiliated. Lu Yunfeng clearly just wanted to stick around and watch him suffer.

Lu Yunfeng shot Zeng Zong a look that said, "What are you going to do about it?"

’This guy is such a menace,’ Lu Yunfeng thought, ’that seeing him get taken down by Sister Yun makes me want to applaud. It’s like she’s doing the public a favor.’

Yun Zijin saw the war of glances between Lu Yunfeng and Zeng Zong but had no intention of getting involved.

However, even though she said she was taking them to the police station, Yun Zijin first paraded them on a full lap around the main road of the Sijunzi Theme Hotel.

Lu Yunfeng took it upon himself to "educate" everyone they passed, giving them a slightly embellished account of what Zeng Zong and his friends had done.

This made the already terrible reputation Zeng Zong and his friends had in their social circle even worse.

The patrons eating and staying at the Sijunzi Theme Hotel were mostly from the same social circle. After this, Zeng Zong wouldn’t be able to show his face in public again.

By the time they finished the lap around the Sijunzi Theme Hotel’s main road, nearly half an hour had passed.

Zeng Zong and his friends looked as if they’d lost the will to live, while Lu Yunfeng was visibly gloating.

When they arrived at the nearby police station, the group proactively turned themselves in to the officers without Yun Zijin having to say a word.

The officers at the station looked at the scene, then at the culprits being escorted in and their eager confessions, and their own expressions became unprecedentedly strained.

The situation was... well, it’s hard to put into words.

As for what Zeng Zong’s group had done, while they were clearly at fault, they hadn’t caused any irreparable harm to Yun Zijin. The most they could expect was a verbal warning.

Yun Zijin didn’t show whether or not she was satisfied with the outcome. As she was leaving the station, she shot Zeng Zong a faint, sidelong glance before turning to walk past him and out the door.

Lu Yunfeng followed behind Yun Zijin. As he passed Zeng Zong, he stared him down and said, "Next time you think about harassing someone, remember to do a background check."

With that, he quickly hurried after Yun Zijin and left the police station.

To get to her car, Yun Zijin had to cross the street.

Yun Zijin stood under a streetlamp at the intersection, waiting for the light. When it turned green, she stepped onto the crosswalk.

But just then, a small car suddenly came speeding from her left.

The light was clearly red, but the car showed no signs of slowing down. Instead, the driver slammed on the accelerator, speeding up.

Yun Zijin turned her head to see a white car hurtling straight for her.

Her mind went blank, and Yun Zijin froze, forgetting to even dodge.

"Young Miss!"

"Sister Yun!"

The seven bodyguards blurred into afterimages as they converged on Yun Zijin. Zero One was tasked with getting her to safety.

Meanwhile, Ling Er and the other five used everything in their power to force the small car to a stop.

Yun Zijin felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her as she was swiftly moved to the side of the road.

Lu Yunfeng felt several gusts of wind whip past his face. The next second, he saw that Zero One had already carried Yun Zijin to the other side of the street.

And the car that had tried to hit Yun Zijin was stopped dead in its tracks just before the crosswalk, thanks to the efforts of Ling Er and the other five bodyguards.

Or more accurately... it was no longer capable of moving forward.

Simultaneously, officers rushed out from the police station by the roadside, securing the scene in record time.

This was, without a doubt, the fastest police response possible.

By the time Yun Zijin came to her senses, she was already across the street, with Zero One standing steadfastly just behind her to the right.

"Miss Yun, are you alright!"

Soon, an officer approached Yun Zijin to get the details of what had just happened.

Yun Zijin shook her head. "I’m fine. My bodyguards saved me."

It was a good thing Yun Zijin had never felt uncomfortable with Zero One and his team following her. Otherwise, she would have been in mortal danger today.

"There was only one person in the car, the driver. We’ve already taken him into custody. We’ll need you and your bodyguards, Miss Yun, to cooperate by giving a statement later."
