Reverend Insanity: Dream Gu
Chapter 254: Killer Moves
Lin Yan newly gained Wisdom Path Grandmaster attainment had already brought countless possibilities within reach. Ideas that had once seemed vague became clear, while problems he had repeatedly failed to solve now showed signs of a breakthrough. Even the mental exhaustion from his previous activation of Raging Fire gradually faded as his understanding deepened.
Lin Yan therefore turned his attention to the killer moves within the Startling Divinity True Inheritance. Using Dream Derivation Immortal Gu, he entered a simulated Dream Realm where he could repeatedly activate, dismantle, and reconstruct each Killer Move without consuming real resources. Several hundred days passed inside before he finally mastered Zheng Jingshen’s complete Wisdom Path combat system.
The Killer was divided into two main branches, corresponding to Startling Divinity Immortal Gu and Longing Immortal Gu.
The first series used Startling Divinity Immortal Gu as its core, with each killer move drawing upon the emotion of "startle" to produce a different effect. Heart Stopping Killer Move could affect everyone within a certain range, using Wisdom Path methods to imitate Soul Path and disturb and weaken their souls.
Flash of Brilliance Killer Move focused its power upon a single target, while Unshaken Heart defended against Wisdom Path Killer move that manipulated emotions.
However, the killer move Lin Yan valued most was Flustered Mind, precisely because it provided the defense against deductions he urgently needed. Whenever someone attempted to deduce him, Flustered Mind could resist the deduction and cause the opponent to suffer a backlash. If caught unprepared, the sudden feeling of "startle" would throw their thoughts into disorder, interrupting the deduction and possibly causing their killer move to fail. Lin Yan could also use the same effect on himself, stimulating his mind and helping him break free from emotional interference and other abnormal states.
The second series of killer moves used Longing Immortal Gu as its core and focused primarily on assisting cultivation and deduction. Among them, Lightning Thought and Collective Wisdom held the greatest value. Lightning Thought increased inspiration and accelerated the movement of thoughts, making deductions faster and more efficient. However, Lin Yan already possessed Apocalypse and the Raging Fire Formation, both of which produced even greater effects in this regard. Although useful, Lightning Thought offered nothing he urgently lacked.
Collective Wisdom Killer Move was completely different. It gathered the thoughts, ideas, and insights of several people and brought them together within a single deduction. When one person’s wisdom proved insufficient, they could draw upon the understanding of others and solve the problem together. The moment Lin Yan understood its effect, countless ideas surfaced in his mind.
Zheng Jingshen had only used Benefit from Collective Wisdom to gather the thoughts of several Gu Immortals, but Lin Yan could take it much further. More than ten million people lived within Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, and the Great Dream Immortal Realm gave him a way to bring their minds together. By incorporating Human Path methods and expanding the killer move, he could allow thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of people to contribute their knowledge and ideas to the same deduction. The wisdom of one person was limited, but gathering the wisdom of an entire population could accomplish things no single person could achieve.
"This could become the core of Dream Net. If I combine it with Calculation Immortal Gu, even the survey of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land could progress several times faster."
Lin Yan had conceived Dream Net long ago, intending to use it to gather information from every corner of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land. However, gathering information was only the first step. Without a way to process such a vast amount of information and extract what was useful, Dream Net could never reach its full potential. Collective Wisdom Killer Move was exactly what it lacked.
Once completed, Dream Net would continuously gather information from every region of Flame Sovereign Blessed Land, covering its resource points, population, Gu Masters, production, terrain, and countless other changes. Collective Wisdom would allow numerous people to examine that information together, uncover hidden problems, and find solutions that Lin Yan alone might overlook. With Calculation Immortal Gu handling the vast amount of information involved, the three could form an entirely new system for managing and developing Flame Sovereign Blessed Land.
Inheritance also contained Trace the Source, an investigative killer move that deduced information about a target through objects, lingering traces, and other connections. It worked especially well with Longing Immortal Gu, as the longing thoughts it produced could endure for an exceptionally long time and follow faint connections that most investigative methods would quickly lose.
Another unusual killer move was Foresee the Next Step. Although it was a movement killer move, it did not rely upon pure speed. Instead, it rapidly analyzed an incoming attack, predicted its changes, and determined the safest moment and direction to evade. Even if the enemy attacked first, the user could follow the deduction and escape through the weakest point of the attack.
The remaining killer moves each possessed their own uses, together forming a complete Wisdom Path combat system that covered offense, defense, investigation, deduction, movement, and cultivation. More importantly, Lin Yan did not need to cultivate every one of them as a separate Killer Move. Many could be incorporated into his existing killer moves, formations, and the Great Dream Immortal Realm, strengthening the systems he had already spent years developing.
To Lin Yan, this was the true value of the Startling Divinity True Inheritance.
