Chapter 1195: Chapter 1167: Ancient Tome Inspires Life—Xiaoqiang’s Ingenious Chain Plan (Monthly Ticket 1300+ Bonus)

Qian had to admit, heaven gave him such a powerful brain, allowing him to have a photographic memory and incredible intelligence, yet he uses it all on such unnecessary things!

"Wifey, I’ve got an idea! Thanks to the great Wang Xifeng!" Xiaoqiang sat up in a flash, gripping Qian’s shoulders with glowing eyes.

His brain, once unclogged, was now clear, and he had thought of how to deal with Mu Xiaofeng’s matter!

Yu Minglang shared his thoughts with Qian, leaving her utterly impressed.

"In such a short time, you can think of so much, you’re amazing."

"Of course, who do you think I am!"

"How did you come up with this?" Qian was curious. His mind was really out of this world.

"I was in a daze and thought of Dream of the Red Chamber, and then from it, I thought of Wang Xifeng’s clever ploy for a love trap, and from there, I deduced a strategy using Mu Xiaofeng’s weaknesses as the breakthrough point."

Qian listened with a wry smile, "Seems like your miscellaneous knowledge isn’t completely useless after all."

"But I feel I haven’t thought through some details completely, wifey, are you willing to inspire me a bit further to solve the case and uphold justice?"

"...Having a face is a good thing, hope you have one."

That night, however Qian inspired him, needn’t be detailed. Just say the next day Yu Minglang was brimming with energy as if he were on stimulants, and quickly came up with several plans.

Absolutely nailed it!

Qian continued to follow the plan and took Dalong in and out of the Mu Family. After a few days of observation, Mu Xiaofeng saw that Qian and Dalong were not acting suspiciously, so she was not as vigilant as she initially was.

This day, after Qian finished treating Mr. Mu and left with Dalong, Mr. Mu called Mu Xiaofeng back.

"Daughter, I recently got hold of a prescription supposedly specifically for my illness. You should get the ingredients for me."

"Where did you get it?" Mu Xiaofeng asked.

"I met an old brother during my morning walk in the park. He has the same condition as mine, but he seemed much more spirited, so I asked him what he was taking, and he gave me this prescription."

Mr. Mu’s condition improved a bit after Qian’s treatment, and she suggested he spend more time in the sun, so the Mu Family’s servants would take him to the park for walks every morning and evening.

Mu Xiaofeng saw the prescription in his hand, hawthorn dates, small dates, iron tree leaves, half lotus, and snake tongue grass—this was a folk remedy she had seen before.

"Didn’t we try this before? It didn’t have much effect."

To treat her father’s cancer, she had tried all sorts of remedies, but these things rarely worked. The bigger the hope, the greater the disappointment.

"This time it’s different. I asked that old brother, and he said the most crucial part is the last herb. Ordinary ones don’t work; it must be wild snake tongue grass and it needs to be fresh to be effective."

Mu Xiaofeng was extremely frustrated, "Dad, where am I supposed to find fresh wild herbs in this winter?"

"That’s your problem, you just have to figure it out for me!"

"Dad, did Mr. Chen say something to you?" she tentatively asked.

"What does it have to do with Mr. Chen? She advised me not to listen to these outside remedies, but I saw someone else cured, so why can’t I try it?"

"Since Mr. Chen said so, Dad, just don’t insist."

"Are you hoping I’ll die soon? So I won’t burden you anymore!" Mr. Mu erupted in anger, leaving Mu Xiaofeng distressed facing her irate father.

In the afternoon, Qian received a call from Mu Xiaofeng, asking her to come to the Mu family. On the way, Dalong asked Qian.

"Sis, are you sure she’ll discuss matters with you in Mr. Mu’s room instead of the study?"

Before they left, her brother-in-law told him this.

"I’m sure. You’ll have about five minutes, make it swift."

"How can you be so certain?"

Qian pointed to her brain, "Just because this is the combined brainpower of me and your brother-in-law."

Dalong was doubtful; he had been to the Mu Family with his sister several times and encountered Mu Xiaofeng only twice, and each time she would invite his sister into the study to talk, no exceptions.

Yet, his brother-in-law said today he would have five minutes to go into the study to gather evidence. How strange.

With doubts, he went to the Mu family with Qian. Sure enough, Mu Xiaofeng called Qian into the study, and Dalong sat at the prepared computer desk playing games, thinking his brother-in-law miscalculated this time when he saw his sister and Mu Xiaofeng come out of the study one after the other and head to Mr. Mu’s room downstairs in Dalong’s astonished gaze.

Qian glanced at Dalong, who immediately averted his gaze, knowing it was his sister signaling him to seize the opportunity.

After Qian and Mu Xiaofeng entered Mr. Mu’s room on the first floor, Dalong, taking the chance while the servant wasn’t paying attention, quickly dashed upstairs, found the study, and turned the handle; it really wasn’t locked!

Brother-in-law is a genius!

Dalong swiftly slipped into the study and searched for clues, his heart filled with admiration for his sister and brother-in-law.

Little did he know, Qian had already done implant hypnosis on Mr. Mu in recent days, implanting many ideas that Mu Xiaofeng not searching for medicine for him was unfilial, and if Mu Xiaofeng didn’t discuss this matter in front of him, it meant she hoped he would die soon.

Even as cunning as Mu Xiaofeng, she couldn’t imagine Qian had a method of subconscious hypnosis suggestion. This series of tactics was remarkably clever.

The drawer was locked. Fortunately, due to Yu Minglang’s intensive training in lock-picking techniques for Dalong, even though time was short and Dalong couldn’t pick locks like Yu Minglang using a wire, Yu Minglang made him a tin foil lock opener. Though it was only palm-sized, it was quite useful, and could unlock a single-slot lock in less than 30 seconds using the soft and moldable characteristics of tin foil.

Easily opening the drawer, he indeed saw the mysterious small box inside. Dalong decisively opened it, took out tools, and started collecting samples for evidence.

Thanks to his sister and brother-in-law, Dalong got the thrill of being a special agent.

Meanwhile, Qian’s confrontation with the Mu family father and daughter continued.

"Dad, what’s gotten into you lately, why this blind faith in unreliable remedies?"

"You just don’t want me to get better!"

"Uncle, just listen to Mrs. Mu. These so-called remedies aren’t reliable. My neighbor’s family once tried random remedies, and it just made things worse," Qian advised.

Mu Xiaofeng nodded, "Mr. Chen is right!"

"Anyway, I’m at death’s door now, I might as well try anything. Xiaofeng, if you’re filial, get the medicine for me. If not, I’ll just give up completely! If you won’t get it, I’ll just hit my head and die!"

Mu Xiaofeng was pestered to no end and could only turn to Qian for help. Qian immediately understood, and in front of Mu Xiaofeng, she soothed Mr. Mu with both guidance and professional explanations to solve his concerns, and finally, Mr. Mu dismissed the idea of asking Mu Xiaofeng to find medicine.
