Chapter 718: Chapter-718

Heena let out a sharp, incredulous scoff.

"Standing where you are?" Heena asked, looking the woman up and down with exaggerated pity. "And where exactly is that? Don’t you still just travel here and there, hopping from world to world like the rest of us? Do you think wearing a shiny uniform makes you an administrator?"

Before the lead woman could retort, Heena shifted her predatory gaze to the second man standing quietly in the back of their group.

"Oh, my," Heena smiled, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "Aren’t you the idiot who tried to conquer an empire-building world last month? The one who got rejected by the local queen, beaten so badly in the throne room that your system had to emergency-eject your soul before she mounted your head on a spike? Huh?"

The man’s face instantly drained of color, his jaw dropping in shock that she knew about his classified mission failure.

Heena didn’t even pause to let him speak. She immediately pivoted to the second woman in their clique, who was trying to hide behind the platinum serpent hologram.

"And you," Heena said, her dark eyes locking onto her. "If I am not mistaken, just recently you needed the Bureau’s emergency extraction squad to come and save your real body. Because the ’loving’ male lead of your easy-tier romance world got entirely sick of your plotting and literally killed you. Huh?"

Both the exposed man and the second woman flushed a violent, humiliating shade of crimson. They clenched their teeth, stepping forward in unison, their eyes burning with fury.

"You—!" the man snarled, raising a hand as if to summon a weapon.

"Oh, come on," Heena interrupted, her expression instantly shifting into a sickly-sweet, venomous smile. "I’m just joking around, just like you guys were. Why are you getting so worked up, babes?"

The smile vanished from Heena’s face, leaving behind a mask of absolute, freezing disdain.

"After all, it is really quite common," Heena said coldly. "Garbage always needs someone stronger to sort it out and separate it. If it weren’t for your overpowered, idiotic systems constantly holding your hands and saving you from your own stupidity, every single one of you would have been permadead a long time ago."

At the insult, the massive platinum serpent and the other high-tier rival systems flared their digital auras, turning to glare intimidatingly at Heena.

Heena didn’t even blink. She slowly turned her head and leveled a single, dead-eyed, warlord glare directly at the floating AI holograms. The sheer, suffocating weight of a soul that had just butchered an entire imperial court slammed into the digital constructs.

The rival systems instantly glitched. The platinum serpent shrank back, lowering its holographic head, while the others immediately averted their digital eyes. Not a single one of them dared to emit a warning beep.

The rival Transmigrators stood frozen in humiliating silence. They wanted to fight back, they wanted to scream, but they didn’t dare take another step.

Everyone in the Nexus knew Heena’s reputation. She wasn’t just a veteran worker who took the garbage jobs; in the eyes of the elite echelons of the Transmigration Bureau, this woman was a completely unhinged, fucking crazy bitch who cleared nightmare-tier apocalypse worlds for fun. And absolutely no one with any sense of self-preservation picked a fight with a predator who had nothing to lose.

They all knew exactly who they were dealing with.

This was the very same woman who, not too long ago, had casually poured a scalding cup of virtual hot cocoa directly over an Administrator Peon’s AI core simply because they had dared to mock a low-tier worker’s system. Just a few years ago, Heena had been the undisputed favorite of the Transmigration Bureau—the golden child of the high-difficulty sectors. She might have fallen out of favor with the upper management, deemed too volatile and considered "down on her luck" by the pristine elites, but that didn’t mean her crazy, ruthless brain had stopped working for a single second.

The lead woman’s face twisted with pure, unadulterated anger. She took a step forward, her finger pointing sharply at Heena. "You—"

Heena simply raised a single, pale hand in the air, instantly cutting the woman off.

"Get lost before I lose my cool, you know?" Heena warned, her tone light but laced with an absolute, terrifying menace. She lazily waved her hand, shooing them away like pests. "Go cry. Go beg your precious male and female leads to love you, okay? Because believe me..."

Heena let her hand drop, leaning forward slightly as her dark, empty eyes locked onto the group. The temperature in the corridor seemed to freeze.

"And you really, really should wish that I never get transmigrated into one of your worlds," Heena whispered, a dark, psychotic promise echoing in every syllable. "Because if I do? I promise, I swear on my own system, I will personally make sure that every single one of your characters dies by my hand. I will burn your easy-mode plots to the ground."

The lead girl’s face went completely white before flushing with absolute, venomous fury. "You bitch," she hissed, her fists trembling.

Before she could summon a digital weapon, heavy, metallic footsteps echoed through the pristine white corridor, vibrating against the smooth floorboards.

"What is the ruckus going on here?" a booming, synthetic voice demanded.

Everyone instantly froze. The rival systems immediately retracted their digital auras, shrinking back as a Bureau Guard strode toward them. The Guard was a towering, heavily armored enforcer of the Nexus, radiating an overwhelming, authoritative suppression field. No matter how arrogant or highly ranked these elite workers were, nobody messed with the Bureau Guards. You didn’t just challenge a cosmic cop because you felt like it; it was an instant, one-way ticket to soul-deletion.

The lead rival woman quickly composed herself, swallowing her rage and plastering on a fake, dismissive smile as she looked at the heavily armored Guard.

"It’s nothing, Officer," the woman said smoothly, shooting a subtle, mocking glare at Heena. "Just a fly buzzing around here."

Heena didn’t even blink. A brilliant, razor-sharp smirk broke across her face. She looked the pristine, high-tier worker up and down with a look of absolute, unshakeable pity.

"Well," Heena mused loudly, her voice echoing perfectly in the quiet corridor for the Guard and everyone else to hear. "After all... a fly only buzzes on shit."

The rival woman violently gritted her teeth, her perfectly painted lips twisting into an ugly, furious snarl. "You—!" she hissed, her hands twitching as if she were reckless enough to summon a digital weapon right in the middle of the terminal.

But before a single spark of code could materialize, the massive Bureau Guard shifted his weight. His heavy, armored boots struck the pristine floorboards with a resounding, metallic clang. He slowly turned his imposing, faceless helmet directly toward the elite group. The glowing blue slit of his visor flared, projecting a heavy, localized suppression field that immediately choked the air out of their lungs.

He didn’t speak, but the glare radiating from the armored sentinel was unmistakable. It was a silent, crushing warning that made it absolutely clear they were one syllable away from being dragged to the temporal detention blocks. The elite transmigrators instantly shrank back, swallowing their rage in absolute terror, their sleek systems glitching and hiding behind them.

Satisfied that the "flies" had been silenced, the towering Guard turned away from them and looked down at Heena. The oppressive aura instantly evaporated, replaced by cold, mechanical neutrality.
