Chapter 65: Chapter 66: Unscheduled Downtime

I violently buried my face straight into Rebecca’s soft, exposed cleavage, letting out a series of dramatic, muffled groans against her warm skin as I mourned the tragic death of my imaginary six-pack.

Rebecca jumped, her chest heaving as my heavy snout pressed into her tits. "Whoa! Hey! What is wrong with you all of a sudden?!"

I just groaned louder, rubbing my face back and forth against her rack in pure, theatrical despair.

Still, as my initial rage settled down, my practical brain started sifting through the fine print.

Okay, look. It wasn’t a total loss. The Parasitic Assimilation ability meant I could hijack any fresh corpse I found laying around. I didn’t need to spend thousands of Evolution Points in the shop to buy a human template; I could just find a recently deceased guy, drive my tendrils into his neck, and take the controls for free.

And since the ability granted full biological manipulation over the host corpse—just like Marcus did to reverse his aging from an eighty-year-old corpse into a twenty-year-old clone—I could technically tweak the body’s features. I could trim the fat, fix the jawline, build up the muscle mass, and sculpt the face into whatever I wanted.

It was essentially a free, fully customizable avatar editor powered by necro-parasitism.

Except... a sudden, horrifying thought struck me like a bucket of ice water.

Wait a minute.

If I hijacked some random dead guy’s body, fixed him up to look handsome, and then used that body to hit it from behind with Rebecca or Ada Wong... was I technically cuckolding myself with a dead guy’s meat?!

I mean, the corpse wouldn’t be my actual body. It would just be a organic suit I was steering from the inside while my real, mutated monster-soul sat in the driver’s seat. If I came inside a heroine using a borrowed dead guy’s junk, who was really getting the credit?! Me, or the guy whose driver’s license was sitting in his back pocket?!

The sheer, degenerate logistical nightmare of interdimensional necro-cuckoldry made my canine brain ache.

Meanwhile, Rebecca was looking down at me with an expression of deep, bewildered concern. Seeing her terrifying, seven-foot-killing-machine dog suddenly collapse into her chest and start groaning like a depressed teenager had completely thrown her off guard.

Her medical brain frantically tried to diagnose the sudden mood swing. She looked back at the distant, burning ruins of the Umbrella facility, then looked down at my face buried in her tits, and her eyes softened with genuine pity.

Oh... poor Ghosty, she thought, her heart aching slightly for the mutated beast. He’s lived in those dark, awful underground labs his entire life. That facility was the only home he ever knew... and now it’s totally destroyed. He must be so heartbroken.

"Hey..." Rebecca murmured softly, her fingers gently stroking the fur on the back of my neck. "It’s... it’s okay, big guy. I know it’s sad that your home got blown up, but you’re free now. You don’t have to live in those dark sewers anymore."

I paused my frantic face-rubbing, cracking one eye open beneath my fungal mask. My home? Bitch, I hated that damp sewer! I’m upset because my imaginary abs got canceled!

Rebecca, completely oblivious to my internal monologue, bit her lower lip nervously. She looked around the empty forest, flushed a bright, radiant pink, and then looked back down at my snout with a hesitant, embarrassed expression.

"Um... if it makes you feel better..." she stammered, her voice dropping to a flustered squeak as she pulled the top of her orange crop top down just a tiny bit further. "I... I read in an medical manual once that... that suckling can help calm down distressed individuals when they’re having a psychological breakdown. So... if you want to... you know... suck on them for a bit to feel better... I won’t stop you."

My canine ears perked straight up.

Wait. Did she just offer her tits as a emotional support pacifier?!

I stared at her flushed, adorable face in sheer awe.

God bless trauma response protocols. God bless emergency medical manuals. I didn’t know what kind of wild, hypothetical scenarios the textbook authors were anticipating when they wrote that Chapter, but I was fully prepared to test their medical theories in the field.

Deciding to put my existential cuckoldry crisis on hold for five minutes, I leaned forward, opened my jaws, and gently took her soft, warm nipple into my mouth, letting out a contented canine hum as Rebecca let out a soft, trembling gasp and pulled my head closer.

While casually enjoying my emergency medical therapy, I opened up the newly unlocked Queen Leech section of the Evolution Shop to browse the available traits.

While lazily working my tongue around Rebecca’s warm, crimson pebble, I scrolled down the newly updated Epic shop menu.

The first entry was a form-exclusive Epic skill sitting right at the top.

[Trait: Royal Metamorphosis (Epic) — 3,000 EP]

[Requirement: Queen Leech Form Exclusive]

[Description: Triggers a violent secondary expansion when Parasitic Assimilation is active. The host completely digests the parasitized corpse, mutating into the giant Queen Leech battle form. Size and physical parameters scale with the mass of the consumed host corpse. Grants hyper-regeneration in darkness. Weakness: Direct sunlight rapidly destabilizes cellular cohesion, causing severe burning and structural degradation. Secondary evolution can be triggered by consuming the host’s own leech brood.]

Okay, interesting. Based on my experience with the Proto-Tyrant and now Marcus, it seemed Epic-tier monsters came with a guaranteed form-exclusive boss-phase skill. Semi-epics like the Hunter Alpha didn’t have one because they were standard grunt B.O.W.s without canonical second phases.

Still, compared to Super Tyrant, this felt a bit situational. It completely digested the corpse you were piloting, which meant losing your disguise and wasting a perfectly good meat-suit. Plus, the sunlight vulnerability was a massive buzzkill. But as a back-up nuclear option for tight underground spaces, it wasn’t terrible.

The last sentence made my canine ears twitch, though. Consuming own brood? What does that mean? Does this form let me spawn an entire army of leech babies on command?!

I swiped to the next listing, expecting another weird niche skill, and instantly froze.

[Trait: Bio-Synthesis (Epic) — 2,500 EP]

[Description: A foundational genetic trait. Grants the host minor biological manipulation capabilities across all Forms. While unable to alter fundamental species DNA, the host can perform manual cellular restructuring, targeted tissue regeneration, dermal smoothing, and cosmetic flesh-morphing. Efficacy scales with mastery.]

HOLY SHIT YES.

I nearly choked on Rebecca’s nipple in pure, unadulterated excitement.

Rebecca let out a sharp, breathless gasp as my jaws tightened for a split second. "Nnngh! Ghosty... gentle!"

I smoothed my tongue over her chest to apologize, but my brain was shooting off fireworks. An Epic trait that WASN’T locked to a single form?! A literal flesh-morphing ability?!

The System said it couldn’t alter base DNA, but cellular restructuring and dermal smoothing meant I could patch up all the rotting, degraded meat on my base zombie form! I wouldn’t have to walk around looking like a Romero ghoul with peeling skin and exposed yellow fat anymore. I could clean up the necrotic tissue, smooth out the grey skin, and make myself look like a functional, pristine human again!

My dreams of an Adonis six-pack were officially back from the dead!

Riding high on excitement, I scrolled to the next mutation on the list, expecting another banger.

[Mutation: Brood Mother — 500 EP]

[Description: Mutates the host’s lower reproductive tract, granting the ability to rapidly produce and lay batches of infectious, t-Virus-mutated leech eggs. The hatched leech swarms remain under the host’s absolute telepathic command, serving as scouts, biological weapons, or emergency snacks.]

EWWWWWW! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!

A violent, full-body shudder ripped through my canine frame. My jaws spasmed, and my sharp teeth accidentally grazed the soft side of Rebecca’s breast.

"Eep!" Rebecca squeaked, her hands slapping against my ears. "Hey! Watch the teeth, you big goof!"

I didn’t even care about her scolding because my mind was currently traumatized by the image the System had just shoved into my brain.

Lay eggs?! Out of my own lower tract?!

An image of my concrete-hard monster shaft suddenly squirting out gelatinous, pulsing nests of squirming leech babies flashed across my mental screen, and I nearly vomited right onto Rebecca’s stomach.

For a split second, my dark, perverted Apex Breeding Urge tried to suggest pumping those leech eggs inside a female host to infect her from the inside, but my rational brain immediately tackled that thought into a concrete wall.

NO. NO NO NO. JESUS CHRIST NO. We are degenerate, but we are NOT a chestburster from Alien! Hard pass on the egg-laying, System! Delete that shit from my search history!

Shaking off the mental biohazard, I forced my eyes down to the final mutation entry.

[Mutation: Swarm Dispersal — 1,500 EP]

[Description: Grants the host the ability to instantly split their physical mass into thousands of individual, hive-minded leech organisms. The host maintains absolute, divided consciousness across every single leech in the swarm, allowing for rapid movement through tight spaces, complete immunity to physical blunt-force trauma, and seamless re-assembly.]

Heheheheh.

I could already see the degenerate potential glowing in bright neon lights. Imagine splitting into a swarm of a thousand microscopic leeches and covering Rebecca from head to toe—hundreds of tiny, squishy mouths suckling every single sensitive inch of her body simultaneously.

Truly, science was a gift to humanity.

Rebecca suddenly shuddered on the grass beneath me, her small hands tightening on my furry ears as a goosebump-inducing shiver ran through her body.

"Brrr... why did I suddenly get chills down my spine?" she whispered, looking around the dark clearing with a suspicious squint. "It felt like someone just walked over my grave... or had a deeply disturbing, perverted thought about me."

I gave her warm belly an innocent, guilt-free canine lick. Ignore it, Becca. That’s just the universe warning you about my brilliant future plans.

I rested my snout back between her soft mounds, idly swirling my tongue around her hard crimson nipple while staring back at the floating system menu.

I was facing a major financial dilemma. My EP war chest was sitting at a comfortable balance after absorbing the Proto-Tyrant and the Queen Leech, but I had a tough decision to make.

Should I hoard my points like a dragon to hit the 10,000 EP milestone for the Epic Proto-Tyrant form? Or should I drop 2,500 EP right now on the Bio-Synthesis trait to fix my rotting baseline zombie form and get my flesh-morphing cheat code active?

Before my brain could weigh the pros and cons, the golden shop interface violently glitched.

A giant, blood-red banner slammed across the center of my field of vision, flashing with angry yellow warning lights.

[System Notification: Congratulations, Host! You have successfully completed the <Survival Tutorial Phase: Arklay Outbreak>!]

[Notice: The Monster Evolution System will now enter a major Version 2.0 Structural Upgrade Mode for the next 12 Hours.]

[Warning: During maintenance, all System modules—including the Evolution Shop, Spatial Inventory, Roulette Wheel, and Diagnostics—will be completely offline.]

[Initiating Maintenance Shutdown in: 3... 2... 1...]

WHAT?! HOLD THE FUCK UP!

Panic surged through my canine veins like a shot of pure adrenaline. A twelve-hour lockout?! No shop, no inventory, no emergency panic-buys if another boss monster dropped out of the sky?!

Fuck saving for the Tyrant! I needed Bio-Synthesis right fucking now!

With the countdown timer ticking down at breakneck speed, my mental cursor slammed into the buy button.

BUY BIO-SYNTHESIS! BUY IT NOW!

[Purchase Confirmed: Trait <Bio-Synthesis (Epic)> acquired! (-2,500 EP)]

[Equip Trait: Bio-Synthesis?]

EQUIP! EQUIP! EQUIP!

An angry red error screen burst onto the display.

[ERROR! Mutation Slot Limit Reached (2/2).]

[Current Active Mutations: Slot 1 - Undying Resilience | Slot 2 - Clicker Echolocation]

[Host must unequip one active mutation to proceed.]

GODDAMMIT SYSTEM, ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?! THE TIMER IS AT ONE SECOND!

I mentally grabbed Clicker Echolocation, ripped it out of the slot, and frantically slapped Bio-Synthesis into its place.

[Mutation Slot 2 Swapped: <Bio-Synthesis> Equipped!]

[Commencing System Maintenance... Goodbye, Host!]

The holographic screen shattered into a million golden pixels and vanished into thin air, leaving my mind completely dark.

I lay there on top of Rebecca, panting heavily through my canine snout as my heart hammered against my ribcage.

Rebecca blinked down at me, feeling my sudden, intense tension. "Ghosty...? Why are you hyperventilating all of a sudden? Did you see a ghost?"

I let out a long, exhausted canine sigh, mashing my face back into her soft cleavage.

Rebecca panted softly, her cheeks flushed a deep rose color as she looked down at my wet snout. She stroked my furry ears, completely misinterpreting my satisfied purr as a sign that her "medical therapy" had worked.

"Feel better now, big guy?" she murmured softly, her thumb gently wiping a trace of drool from her midriff.

I gave a happy whuff and rested my heavy head back on her belly, staring up at the starry night sky.

Yeah, damn right I am Becca, damn right I am...’

<To Be Gooned>

A/N: Anyone disappointed with mc not getting human form? well, honestly I thought about it a lot and to be honest, giving him normal human form honestly feels contradictory to book premise and my inspiration. Human transmigrator with harem are dime a dozen, why not have non human for once?

mostly plan is that there could be occasional human forms but its never gonna be a base form for him to just switch for convenience.

Also btw for racoon city, if we give mc just one body, then its gonna be hard to handle cuz so many things are happening simultaneously so i was just wondering what to do there. would you guys prefer clones or distributed consiousness (like him simulatenously controlling both bodies etc) or smth else?
