A few days passed quietly, and on Friday, Ethan got a message from Cassie, telling him that she was in front of his house waiting.

Smiling, he pocketed his phone and stood up.

"Evelyn, I have a visitor. I’ll be back soon, okay?"

He said as he hugged her and kissed her forehead.

Evelyn smiled, thinking it was another person who wanted to consult him. "Alright. Buy me something when you’re coming back."

Ethan nodded, then asked, "Did Cassie know about Nora being allergic to peanuts?"

Evelyn frowned. "Why are you asking that? Anyway, I told her before, but she said she forgot or something. That mistake is in the past already. I still don’t understand why she’s like this, though. It doesn’t feel like her."

"Maybe she’s possessed." Ethan chuckled, walking over to his bike and mounting it. "See ya, baby girl."

Evelyn pursed her lips and watched him leave. Then, she turned back to Cassandra. "As I was saying, I love K-drama more than c-drama..."

Meanwhile, Ethan took a ride home, parking the bike before the gates. Cassie approached him, wearing a sultry smile on her face.

"Hello, Ethan. You’re looking good today."

He glanced at her indifferently and said, "You look the same. Anyway, come inside."

Ignoring her pout, he opened the gate and led her inside. Cassie marveled at the beauty of the house, but immediately began searching for the luxurious cars that were supposed to be parked around. She found none.

"Ehh... Ethan....?" She said, "Where are your cars?"

He paused, turning to her with a frown. "What car?"

"Your limousine," She said, staring at him in disbelief. "Or am I wrong?"

Realizing she had mistaken Lucas’s car for his, Ethan chuckled. "Welps, you are. I don’t have a car yet."

Cassie’s jaw dropped. "What? Why? Aren’t you the owner of this house?"

"I am. So?" He tilted his head.

"Why don’t you have a car?" She almost shouted, annoyed.

Ethan shrugged and continued walking. "Because it’s not absolutely necessary yet. When the time comes, we’ll get one."

Cassie scowled as she followed behind him. ’And Evelyn lives with this? What a dumbass.’

Soon, they got inside and settled in the living room. Ethan sat on one couch and made her sit opposite him.

Pausing, he stood up and went to the kitchen to fetch a plate of pancakes. Cassie stared at them suspiciously, but sensing no malice from Ethan, she smiled and took a bite from one.

Ethan smiled and sat opposite her. "So I have a few questions for you and I hope you sincerely answer them."

Cassie nodded. "Go on, as long as it’s nothing too revealing like my body count, we’re good to go!"

"Alright." He nodded. "Care to tell me if you knew about Nora’s allergy to peanuts?"

Cassie froze, her expression changing. "What do you mean? Of cousin didn’t know. I only knew she was allergic when that incident happened."

Ethan’s eyes narrowed. "Is that so...? Alright, then."

Cassie blinked. "Why did you even ask me that?"

Staring at his face, she took up another piece of pancake and began eating.

Ethan smiled. "Nothing. What? Do you think I should have a motive?"

She immediately shook her head. "Tsk. I was just wondering, okay? Forget about me asking that."

Ethan nodded. "Well, I have another question."

Cassie paused, her brows furrowing. "What now?"

"Why did you buy snacks for Nora that day?" He asked. "It was a little unusual, and knowing you, you wouldn’t just visit Evelyn’s shop because you wanted to give Nora snacks, right?"

Cassie’s expression darkened. "Is this why you invited me here? To ask me questions?"

"No." He shook his head. "I just want to clarify something. Please answer."

Cassie sighed. "So I wanted to show Evelyn this new hairstyle, and I decided to bring something along for Nora."

"So it’s that, right?" He asked for confirmation. "You just wanted to show Evelyn some hairstyles. I assume she liked it?"

Cassie shrugged. "Well, yeah. They were pretty enough. Anyway, enough with the questions. Why am I here? Are you having thoughts of cheating on your wife?"

Ethan didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he took out his phone and called Evelyn.

"Hello? Ethan? You’re done already?"

He smiled at her voice and said, "No, not yet. Still a few minutes to go. Just wanted to ask you a question."

"Oh, go on," She replied enthusiastically.

Ethan smiled at Cassie, then asked Evelyn, "Did Cassie show you any trending hairstyle that day Nora fell sick?"

Cassie froze, and Evelyn paused.

"No, she didn’t," Evelyn answered. "She only came by, greeted me, and went inside to stay with Nora while I attended to our customers."

"Bingo!" Ethan flashed a grin. "Alright, I’ll call you later. Bye~"

He ended the call before Evelyn could bombard him with questions.

"So... tell me," He said to Cassie. "Who is lying? You or her?"

Cassie scowled and stood up. "If this is what you want to do, then I’m leaving."

Ethan’s eyes flashed. "You might want to take the antidote with you."

She froze. "Antidote? What... a poison?"

Feeling her stomach churn weirdly, her gaze immediately snapped to the pancakes on the table.

Ethan hadn’t taken a single bite. She had simply assumed he was being reserved, not knowing his intentions were darker.

She paled, seeing the faint, knowing smile on his lips.

"Will you sit? We still have a lot to discuss."

Gritting her teeth, she suppressed the turmoil in her stomach and sat down. "What do you want? My body or what?"

Ethan shook his head. "I don’t go after public sockets. I just want answers."

Cassie’s expression darkened considerably, but she didn’t say anything yet.

Ethan took out a small bottle containing a single pill. "If you answer my questions correctly, I’ll hand this to you. Do whatever you want with it. Break it, squash it, burn it, whatever."

Cassie’s jaw clenched hard, and she glared at him. "Ask your questions. And make it quick."

Ethan smiled. "That would depend on you. Did you know that Nora was allergic to peanuts before giving her snacks containing peanuts?"
