Chapter 754: Chapter 754: As Long As I Can Be With You, Anywhere is Fine

Annabelle Linton stared at him with wide eyes, her mouth hanging open, unsure of what to say. She just kept looking at him.

But as she looked at his face, still as strikingly handsome as ever, her eyes couldn’t help but sting with unshed tears.

Hurt, longing, and helplessness all converged, forming a mist in her eyes. Annabelle Linton threw her arms around his neck and burst into tears.

’I’ve been crying my eyes out all day recently. My eyes ache every time I start again.’

Annabelle Linton didn’t say a word. She just held him and cried, her sobs muffled against him.

Leona Grant gently held her, stroking her hair with his other hand. As he looked down at her crying, he grew even more certain of his decision to tell her everything.

He held her and said gently, "I’m sorry, darling. Have things been really hard on you lately?"

He gave her a light kiss, stroking her head and saying tenderly, "It’s okay. It’s all in the past now. I’m still here, aren’t I?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

"As long as I’m here, I’ll hold up the sky for you even if it comes crashing down, you understand? Don’t be sad anymore."

Annabelle Linton looked at him and said through her sobs, "Leona Grant, I missed you so much. I thought I’d never see you again..."

Leona Grant looked at her red, swollen eyes and gently kissed away her tears, his heart aching as he said, "Baby, I’m so sorry you had to go through all this."

Annabelle Linton pounded on his chest, bursting into fresh tears. "You bastard, did you know about all this from the start?"

’Otherwise, how would he know that Annabelle Ainsworth is Vivian Yates?’

Leona Grant sighed. Worried she would hurt her hands, he caught her small fists and gently rubbed them. "I only suspected it before," he said. "I didn’t have any concrete proof. Yesterday, I was just testing a theory."

As he spoke, he frowned, wiping the tears from her face with his thumb. He said, a hint of anger in his voice, "How dare you hide something this important from me. Annabelle Linton, I could just strangle you."

Annabelle Linton lowered her head and said after a moment of silence, "I’m sorry."

’This woman... she’s just like that. Impossibly reserved.’

’Any other woman would have made a million excuses, saying she was just too worried about me or that she did it for my own good. But not her. She wouldn’t say any of that. All she offered were those two simple words.’

Leona Grant looked at her, a mixture of anger and helplessness washing over him. He had been angry, but seeing her like this, his anger instantly evaporated.

But it was precisely this reserved nature of hers that made his heart ache for her.

Annabelle Linton rarely acted cute or sought affection like that.

’In truth, it’s in a woman’s nature to seek affection that way. But for those who don’t, it’s not because they don’t know how or don’t want to; it’s because they’re accustomed to suffering in silence and shouldering their burdens alone.’

If he could have his way, Leona Grant wished she could be a little happier, a little more willful, and not quite so strong.

Because he was in her corner now.

Leona Grant cupped her face and gave her a peck on the lips, saying gently, "It’s okay, Annabelle Linton. I just want you to remember that no matter what happens, you have to tell me. Don’t keep it bottled up and bear it all by yourself, understand?"

When a person has been hurt too many times, a single act of kindness can make all the pent-up grievances come flooding out.

Fresh tears streamed down Annabelle Linton’s face. She looked at him, crying silently, and nodded.

Leona Grant pulled her into his embrace and kissed her forehead. "Annabelle Linton, you have to remember this: there is nothing, can be nothing, and will never be anything in this world that can pull us apart. Do you understand?"

"If you live, I’ll live with you. If you die, I’ll die with you. I’m not just saying that. As long as I can be with you, it doesn’t matter where we are. From now on, whatever happens, you tell me first. Let your husband handle everything, alright?"
