Remarriage Failed Again Today
Chapter 748: Are You Going to Let It Go Just Like That?
Chapter 748: Chapter 748: Are You Going to Let It Go Just Like That?
"Don’t you dare tell anyone about this. Do you understand?" Leona Grant’s grip tightened as her voice dropped to a menacing whisper.
’I’m not supposed to let anyone know?’
’Heh, as if!’
’She was going to let the whole world know, and Annabelle Linton would be the very first to find out!’
Tears began to stream down Vivian Yates’s face as she spoke, her vision blurring. "Brother-in-law, I’m a girl... this was my first time. Are you really going to just leave it at that?"
’Regarding Vivian Yates’s acting and her ability to cry on cue, Leona Grant was, in a word, impressed.’
’And not just a little, either.’
’Seriously, where did she get such a wide range of expressions? Not even a Hollywood star could compare.’
’If this woman had a proper backer, she’d be a superstar in the entertainment industry for sure!’
Leona Grant pulled a card from a wallet in her pocket and flicked it at Vivian Yates’s face. "Disappear from my sight," she said with contempt.
Vivian Yates stared at him, her expression a mixture of shock and despair, as if she could never have imagined Leona Grant would be so heartless. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she screamed hysterically, "Brother-in-law, I don’t want money! That’s not what I want! This was my first time! Do you think money can make up for that?"
She stared at him resolutely, shaking her head, her eyes burning with the contempt one reserves for a heartless scoundrel. "No," she said. "I won’t let this go. Money can’t fix anything. Even if you kill me, I refuse to be treated so cheaply. You have to answer for what you’ve done! I won’t let something I’ve cherished for more than twenty years be thrown away just like that!"
Leona Grant: "..."
...His opinion of Vivian Yates’s acting had just risen a few more notches.
He watched her with a detached gaze and said coolly, "That’s enough money to last you a lifetime. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll take it and get out of my sight. Don’t let me see you again. But if you insist on being so foolish and stubborn, don’t think I’m above killing you to keep you quiet."
With that, Leona Grant turned and walked out.
But Vivian Yates wasn’t actually looking for him to take responsibility.
At this point, she had long given up any hope of actually being with Leona Grant.
She was doing all of this for two reasons—
One, to break up Leona and Annabelle and destroy their relationship.
Two, to get pregnant with Leona Grant’s child.
And while these were things she wanted to do herself, they were also tasks given to her by Chase Lynch.
But honestly, when she thought about Chase Lynch, Vivian Yates felt utterly bewildered.
The man was a complete mystery to her. She didn’t know his true identity, but she could always sense a dangerous aura around him—a feeling that he was not to be trifled with.
What frightened her most was that he seemed to know everything about her, right down to her innermost thoughts. It felt like no matter where she went, he could effortlessly track her every move. No matter what schemes she devised, she could never escape the palm of his hand.
What’s more, he had been the one to approach her, and he was disturbingly well-informed about Annabelle Linton and her companions.
And if she wasn’t mistaken, the man likely held a grudge against Annabelle Linton and her friends. It also seemed he was backed by some massive organization.
She didn’t believe for a second that this man was there to help her get her own revenge, not that she was looking for that kind of help anyway.
Hahaha, the mere thought of someone so powerful holding a grudge against Annabelle Linton and her friends sent a shiver of pure satisfaction through Vivian Yates.
’Oh, right. Annabelle Linton is most likely still outside the door. And even if she isn’t, it’s time to go put on a show!’
