Chapter 736: Aaron Wyatt Is Back, So She’s Leaving
Chapter 736: Chapter 736: Aaron Wyatt Is Back, So She’s Leaving
In his dream, Annabelle Linton left and never came back.
Leona Grant’s heart tightened at the thought. He groggily opened his eyes and subconsciously called out, "Annabelle Linton! Annabelle Linton..."
He jolted upright.
Panting slightly, Leona Grant surveyed his surroundings and realized he was in a hospital. But there was no sign of Annabelle Linton in the spacious room.
He looked at the butler standing nearby and asked in a low voice, "How did I get here? And where’s Annabelle Linton?"
The sudden voice startled the butler. He looked at Leona Grant and asked, pleasantly surprised, "Young Master, you’re awake! You had a terrible fever last night. The Young Madam was the one who rushed you here. How are you feeling now? Should I get a doctor to come take a look?"
With that, the butler turned as if to run out of the room.
Leona Grant watched him, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. "That’s not necessary," he said with a frown. "Just tell me where Annabelle Linton is."
Hearing this, the butler seemed to have only just realized the issue himself. He replied, just as confused, "I don’t know, either. The Young Madam left this morning. She said she needed to step out for a bit and might be back late, and that we shouldn’t worry about her. I’m not sure why she hasn’t returned yet. Should I try to contact her?"
When Annabelle Linton had left that morning, she’d been worried Vivian Yates wouldn’t agree to her plans and had thought it would take a long time, which was why she’d left those instructions.
Leona Grant frowned at his words.
’That woman’s been gone all day. Where could she have gone? She’s never stayed out this long before.’
As he was thinking, a thought suddenly struck him.
He suddenly remembered his dream, and for some reason, a powerful wave of panic washed over him.
"No, I’ll ask her myself."
Leona Grant suppressed the strange feeling in his heart and picked up his phone to call Annabelle Linton.
’I need to hear her voice right now. I really, really need to hear it.’
But the moment he picked up his phone, several photos filled the screen. His eyes flew wide open—
He opened the photos one by one, and the sight stung his eyes.
In the photos, Annabelle Linton was sobbing in another man’s arms. Even though the man’s back was to the camera, Leona recognized him instantly.
—Aaron Wyatt!
At the sight of him, a frantic anxiety began to build inside Leona Grant.
Aaron Wyatt was a thorn in his heart—one that could never be removed.
Leona Grant’s pupils contracted to pinpricks. He stared at the photo, his gaze so intense it seemed he could burn a hole right through the screen.
Aaron Wyatt had one arm around her waist and his other hand on the back of her head. His own head was bowed, his actions unclear, but even from behind, he exuded the air of a perfect gentleman protecting Annabelle Linton.
Annabelle Linton’s face was pressed tightly against his chest, her arms wrapped around his waist.
The images sent a shock through Leona Grant, and he broke into a sudden, violent coughing fit.
Seeing Leona Grant coughing, the butler rushed over and asked with concern, "Young Master, what’s wrong?"
"Get out—"
Leona Grant roared, fighting back his rage as he opened the next photo. It was much the same, only this time Annabelle Linton was sobbing even more violently, as if her world were ending.
’Why is she crying?’
’Is it because she wants to leave, and I won’t let her? Is that why she’s crying so miserably?’
’Now I finally understand why Annabelle Linton has been so insistent on leaving lately!’
’He’d been racking his brain, completely unable to figure it out. But now, it seemed the truth was laid bare right before his eyes.’
