Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 520: Manipulator

Chapter 520: Manipulator

Upon the revelation that Xu Feng emphasized that he wasn't the one exposing, Carmen began to realize his nefarious intent.

"You are using Emberwolf's hands to do the dirty work for you." Carmen nearly exclaimed in shock but managed to tone it down midway.

"Just how could Emberwolf know that DeathLingers was the hidden saboteur. You said previously that even he did not know who the other one was." She leaned closer to Xu Feng and expressed her doubts. Discover more content at My Virtual Library Empire

If Xu Feng was bagging on the fact that Emberwolf was clever, then Carmen would be the first to laugh.

Clever and Emberwolf could not be linked together whatsoever.

No clever person would attempt to pick a fight against someone who they had next to zero clues about.

The mere fact that Xu Feng alone could topple a branch Reaver Guild should have been self-explanatory that there might be more strength than what Xu Feng had shown on the surface.

"Emberwolf is a self-egoistic person who believed himself to know it all with a few clues or hints he scoured. By letting him discover one flaw, he would come up with multiple theories, even outrageous ones." Xu Feng explained, finding it humorous that Emberwolf could rise to his position with such a mindset.

Having this kind of mindset in the leadership position was bound to spell disaster for that affiliation altogether. The paranoia and imagination could easily cause them to make the wrong decision repeatedly.

However, the scariest part was that they believed their decision was the wisest, possibly even grinning when commencing the act to reality.

"What is that one flaw, you manipulator?" Carmen squinted her eyes, trying to find the flaw but couldn't. It wasn't that she wasn't wise enough to find the flaw, but the fact that she didn't understand one crucial piece of information.

The information that only the Raid Leader could have within the raid.

"Have you tried checking on the team list and when a name would be grayed out or not?" Xu Feng asked, rather than handing her the answer right away.

Sooner or later, Xu Feng planned on delegating the Raid Leader's task to Carmen, given that he wouldn't be able to consistently lead a raid for everyone.

As the Guild Leader, leading a raid once in a while was normal, but to do it consistently was just a tremendous flaw to hinder one's own growth.

This was also the reason why Gentle Wind hadn't broken through much and still struggled within Dawnshire City despite having a head start already. She paid too much attention to raiding, improving her overall guild's strength.

Although it wasn't necessarily a bad thing, it still effectively hindered her own growth.

Not to mention, improving a guild's overall strength should be done moderately. Otherwise, who knows when the resources and times she dumped in to improve her subordinates, would in turn bite their back as gratitude.

Rather than trying to improve everyone on a large scale, Xu Feng chose the slowest but also the safest method. Improving his strength and a few trusted individuals.

Just look at Carmen's strength alone. By herself, she could accomplish a few tasks way better than those who relied on sheer numbers.

So what if you had a higher number count?

If they were all weak as hell, then it was pointless numbers anyway.

Meanwhile, Carmen finally figured out something after pondering for a few minutes.

"I've got it." She exclaimed. "Our death count was visibly shown very briefly, but afterward, it became unavailable."

Carmen had recalled that she had checked on the list before when DeathLingers got killed. There was a death count of 9 on DeathLingers versus the others who still had a count of 10.

In other words, DeathLingers was dead once and was revived. By that logic, then everyone else who could see the list would know DeathLingers died once in their group, and if Emberwolf could see them while in his ghost-like form.

Then just like Xu Feng had described Emberwolf before, this was a glaring flaw.

"Wait, but how come the death count becomes unavailable…" Before Carmen could continue her question, she suddenly realized a past incident.

The past incident that revolved around the Skyrazor Harbinger. Back then, she was still a complete amateur with insufficient knowledge, so she had failed to realize what Xu Feng had accomplished.

So now that she thought about it, Xu Feng was killed by the Skyrazor Harbinger before but somehow revived himself.

But that wasn't the only major problem, given that those who revived themselves using items would show signs of debuffs and an item being dropped.

In hindsight, Xu Feng could revive himself without using any item. Added to the fact that this kind of situation could only be applied to a Cleric's revival skill, it meant that Xu Feng could not only revive someone but also himself.

As her eyes widened in shock, she understood why the death count was hidden from them.

During that intense moment of trapping the Sentinel, Xu Feng utilized a similar strategy against the Skyrazor Harbinger. He got himself killed along with the Sentinel, and to prevent others from knowing that he had a self-revival skill without the need to use a revival item, he concealed the death counts.

After all, traces of the residual of using a revival item would remain on the battlefield for a long time.

If others had gone to investigate the scene, then Xu Feng would have been immediately busted in his acts.

"It seems like my dear Guild Commander has figured something out." Amused, Xu Feng was satisfied and pleased that Carmen caught on rather quickly after being hinted.

"You really are a cunning four-eye and a manipulator at that," Carmen commented, finding him more and more devious. To orchestrate this many things at once, she found it baffling that anyone could pull it off other than Xu Feng.

Not only did he need to deceive his fellow raid members, but he also needed to deceive the viewers who were watching the stream. Just one slip-up or mishap, and everything would have been exposed.
