Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1550: Legacy Era Part 20

Lionfield was frustrated by their group’s inaction. He quickly opened his own team message and told his members to get ready to attack.

But to his astonishment, none of them had given a response, much less a reaction.

He glared at a few of them who were close by, and they all ended up lowering their heads.

They weren’t stupid, alright. If only they chose to attack and the rest of them remained still, they would simply die a tragic death.

And it was a death that doesn’t just end there.

It would continue throughout their lives, considering the fanatics in the Demoness’ fan club.

"This hangry man over here. You don’t seem very happy about my presence." While Lionfield was furious at his subordinates, Carmen suddenly called out to him.

"Care to share why you’re not happy?" She asked innocently.

Soon, all eyes turned to Lionfield. It was a spotlight that he always wanted, albeit for all the wrong reasons.

Lionfield couldn’t even feign ignorance because everyone else distanced themselves from him.

They were afraid of being implicated by him.

’Serves you right for not being able to control your expression well.’ Felicia held no sympathy for Lionfield when he practically threw her under the bus earlier.

Had it not been for quick wit, she would have been done in by his shrewdness.

A few seconds later, Lionfield finally turned around and faced Carmen.

This was their first encounter, and he already felt the fear that the other players had when he watched clips of the battle.

’Fuck, how is her pressure so strong?’ He was certain that she didn’t even use any skill, but the pressure was equivalent to a Domain Field being active.

"Why are you not speaking? I’m not a scary person, am I?" Carmen tilted her head and seemed to be surprised.

Her expression and action were quickly screenshotted by the multiple viewers, even when the price cost 20 silver coins each.

<Ahh, I’m so jealous of this bastard Lionfield!>

<He’s definitely putting up an act to get her attention. I’ve long hated this Lionfield for a while now.>

<Same, let’s track him down and PK him when he’s alone in the wilderness.>

<Screw his Super Guild. We Demoness Fan Club isn’t afraid of them!>

"Leader, this is bad." A Nocturnal member approached closer and whispered to Lionfield about his negative review from many viewers.

They didn’t want to be the ones to relay the news, but the higher-ups had sent him an order through direct message.

Not following through on the order was essentially forfeiting his membership.

Sure enough, Lionfield gnashed his teeth heavily and glared at the member.

"You just wait until later on." He hissed coldly before changing his expression.

"You’re not scary, but we’re not exactly here to visit." Lionfield mustered up his courage and stated. "I’m sure you also know about our intention, so let’s not play innocent or ignorant."

"Is everyone else the same as this person over here?" Carmen asked the crowd.

"That is correct." Felicia exhaled deeply and stepped forward. "We are here to siege your Haven Wind Town—City."

"That’s a pity... I was going to let the majority of you go except for the one who proposed this idea."

"Eh?"

Many members’ eyes seemed to have lit up when they heard Carmen’s claim of letting them off. Truth be told, this failure was completely the fault of Ethereal. They proposed this ridiculous plan without bothering to gather enough intel or scout ahead.

How Ethereal was still a Super Guild became a mystery to them!

Felicia wanted to retreat now to be honest. Their powers were insufficient against a city. Not to mention, they hadn’t seen much of Vanguard Guild members besides those three teams.

And given how carefree the Demoness was, behaving like victory was already a guarantee, she really lost all hope.

But nevertheless, she still had her own pride and honor to uphold.

"I appreciate the offer, but sorry, Vanguard Guild Commander." Felicia raised her weapon and said, "We’re here to siege your Haven Wind City."

She was certain that she had offended Carmen with her words.

But contrary to her surprise.

"I like your honesty." Carmen praised her well.

Felicia felt something was amiss. ’This doesn’t look right.’

Sure enough, she would be correct in her judgment.

"Since you’re not here as guests or visitors, we’ll just treat you all like monsters in the wild filled with experience points." Carmen smiled sweetly and snapped her fingers.

BOOOM!

As soon as her fingers snapped, the defensive structures that were stationed in the City activated.

Despite their distance being so far, the cannons still reached their area and dealt a devastating explosion.

Felicia’s eyes widened in shock.

"W-What the?" She turned around and only noticed a large crater had been created behind her.

Her face was slightly pale when she glanced at her party list and saw nearly half of them were wiped from the field.

’That was from just one cannon shot?’ They were all Tier 2 for heaven’s sake. To be one shot by a cannon was something that never crossed their mind.

While Felicia was frightened by the power, Carmen was also flabbergasted.

’My goodness, that tiny cannon actually has this devastating power?’ Prior to showing up here, she had asked Xu Feng if it was really safe for her to show up alone.

But then he repeatedly reassured that as long as she snapped her fingers, he would pull the trigger on the defensive structure, with one of them being a cannon.

The cannon didn’t look majestic or powerful whatsoever. But her opinion definitely changed now.

...

Back at the Main Office at the City Hall, Veronica’s eyes widened like a saucer.

"What kind of power is that cannon?" She glanced at Xu Feng and asked in a hoarse tone.

If they had fired the cannon a few more times, wouldn’t they have wiped out the so-called alliance army?

However, only one person was really crying in pain right now.

’That one shot cost me 200 gold coins.’ Xu Feng felt his heart bleed with that one cannon shot. And the cost would only exponentially increase if he didn’t wait for the cooldown duration.
