Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1356: Aetheria Empire Part 3

Chapter 1356: Aetheria Empire Part 3

Shortly after the system prompt appeared, Xu Feng confirmed his promotion.

There was a reason he had never brought out the flag before. A baron could never enhance the flag’s status because it couldn’t be considered true nobility.

But a Viscount was a different story.

A Viscount had the authority to purchase lands to own. And these lands were special because they enabled the player to directly build a city.

Yes, a city, and not just a town.

To promote a town to a city, players required three things: Mana Density, Population, and Reputation.

Naturally, there was also money that required the payment fee, but that should be obvious.

Hence, it was very tedious and arduous to promote a town to a city as opposed to building a city on the spot.

As Ken and the others glanced at the flag’s effect, they were dumbfounded on the spot.

"The Boss is actually a Viscount?"

"Our Boss is a high noble??!"

Never once in their mind had they imagined they would one day be employed by a high noble—one that offered good payment too!

"Wow, a Viscount rank is possible." Carmen clapped her hands in amazement. She wasn’t flabbergasted or astonished by his feat because she always believed he was amazing from the beginning.

Why would she be surprised by his noble rank?

"I’m still me. There’s no need to act any differently or add any extra formality." Xu Feng chuckled heartily and told the Demoness Army to calm their emotions.

His demeanor and zero change in authority impressed the people in the army.

Zero pretenses or random suppression from a nobility rank.

Not to mention, the treatment and accommodation were top-notch.

"Even so, Boss, we’ll need to be careful in the empire. You’re a Viscount, and we’re just commoners." Ken scratched his head embarrassingly.

"Very well, but right now, we’re not in the empire." Xu Feng replied softly. He understood that the feudal society in the Divine World was embedded in their blood, so he didn’t rush them.

This kind of reformation required time and effort to change slowly.

Sometime later, Xu Feng drafted a new battle formation for the Demoness Army to follow. Now that they had entered the Oracle Region and the army had gotten used to some coordination, it was time for him to regain control.

"Ken will continue to be the vanguard, and the DPS people are to remain within the inner circle." He coolly said.

This was a common battle formation known as The Ring. It was only possible when the number count was enough.

Additionally, they didn’t need to be wary of sudden ambushes.

Carmen’s voidlings were powerful enough to scan far ahead to detect nearby enemies.

"Feng, three enemies detected up north, approximately 2 minutes from the contact point." Carmen relayed the information found by her voidlings.

"Ken!" Xu Feng nodded and beckoned for him. "Focus aggro up north and have stun grenades ready. Ranges, as soon as the stun lands, hold your fire. Have the Assassins and Swordsman shield break the enemies first."

"Yes, Boss!"

2 minutes later...

"Enemies!" Ken roared and immediately activated his taunt skill, alongside two more tankers. There was no need to stack up more tanks because it would only disrupt the army’s coordination.

If an enemy were to be aggroed by two different tanks, their movements were bound to be in a zig-zag form. And when enemies moved too much, the accuracy was bound to decrease as well.

Soon, three ferocious hounds emerged. Their eyes were bloodshot, their mouth drooling in saliva.

"Alright, come at us!" Ken and the other tanks were ready to confront these hounds.

However, to their surprise, the hounds not only ignored their taunts.

They also pounced on the ground and propelled themselves upward. Using the momentum, their target became evident: the center of The Ring formation.

And who else but Xu Feng was at the center of the formation?

Naturally, there was also Carmen included, but from the hounds’ eyes, it was pretty evident that their target was the healer.

"Am I really that easy to gain aggro?" Xu Feng twitched his mouth. Despite the joking, though, he immediately propelled the hounds while requesting Carmen to increase the search range.

Enemies who could ignore taunts were usually bosses.

But this was the wilderness, and there was no boss music!

In other words, these hounds were being controlled by another enemy.

"A summoner..." Xu Feng narrowed his eyes and frowned deeply.

"Summoner? What summoner are you talking about?" Carmen, who had just finished repelling the hounds away, turned to him and asked in confusion.

The hounds remained aggressive, but the tanks effectively caught the aggro by using their higher-level taunt skills. Thus, allowing Carmen the time to question Xu Feng.

"I’m afraid this is the work of a Summoner... and possibly the one behind the Aetheria Empire’s advanced scout losing their emblem." Xu Feng explained his deduction. He should have known better that a scout army shouldn’t lose its emblem in the open like this.

The Oracle Region... the changes here were far more than he had imagined.

"We might have to delay the Oracle Grotto raid." He continued.

He had a bad premonition that this was something huge. And his premonition was rarely wrong.

Sure enough, Carmen’s body jolted slightly when they somehow made an accidental discovery.

She didn’t doubt Xu Feng’s words one bit. If he dared to speak it aloud, then the chances of it being true were very high. And even in the off-chance he was wrong, there would still be no harm.

"What should we do then?" Carmen asked. The hounds coming here must have meant the enemy summoner had already detected them.

It was possible these hounds were just a test of their overall strength.

"There’s nothing to do except escape. Their position is out of my range, which means their strength is likely at the Tier 3 and close to Tier 4." Xu Feng wasn’t going to pick a fight against someone who was clearly many times stronger than them.

He didn’t have any masochistic tendency of being bullied, humiliated, or beaten down.
