Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1305: Carmen’s Early Journey Part 2

Chapter 1305: Carmen’s Early Journey Part 2

Shortly after being ditched by her team, Carmen remained indifferent in the face of Hundred Ghost and his allies.

"Haha, do you still reject my invitation now, beauty?" Hundred Ghost snickered coldly. He didn’t bother to chase after Joyce and the rest because his eyes were on Carmen all along.

He had seen her skills. It was raw but very natural. This kind of talent was something their guild needed. Not to mention, her beauty was also something he adored.

"Yes, I reject your invitation." Carmen remained firm in her decision. She was never the type to give in to threats.

Upon seeing her repeated rejection, Hundred Ghost’s patience wore thin. He gestured for his men to start preparing to PK her if she continued to reject his goodwill.

"I’ll ask again. Are you joining or not?" Hundred Ghost’s tone had turned cold.

"I’m not joining." Carmen stood her ground and was prepared to use her skill to retaliate. Although player killing would affect her reputation, she wasn’t going to just stand still and be butchered.

Alas, it was only her wishful thinking.

5 minutes later...

RedEagle Town, Teleport Platform

"Damn it!" Carmen emerged on the platform after respawning from death.

She stomped her foot angrily. She was completely annihilated without even being able to take one down with her.

The situation frustrated her deeply.

Just when she was about to head somewhere else to adventure, her path was subsequently blocked by a group of hooligans.

Carmen narrowed her eyes. "What do you people want?"

"What do we want? We want to kill you again!" One of the members in the group snickered.

"To mess with the Reaver Guild in RedEagle Town, you sure have a lot of courage. But too bad, you have no skills to back it up!"

As soon as the taunt was made, the nearby players quickly gathered around.

"Looks like another newcomer made a mistake and offended the Reaver Guild."

"It’s a great beauty this time too. What a pity."

"Indeed, the Reaver Guild had gotten a head start and made the town their territory already."

When Carmen heard the mutterings from other players, she realized this town was no longer suitable for her.

She turned around and wanted to access the Teleport Platform to teleport elsewhere.

Unfortunately for her, she lacked the necessary money.

"Want to run? You’ve messed up real badly!" The Reaver Guild members taunted wildly and dared her to step outside the town. Once she stepped outside the town, that would be the day she would be killed again.

"Do you guild players always act this lawlessly?" Carmen gnashed her teeth and questioned.

"It’s survival of the strongest. What is the law in this game anyway?"

"You—"

Frustrated, Carmen could only swallow this grudge and explore the town inside.

Despite being safe and sound inside the town, she was still being followed constantly by the people from the Reaver Guild.

’The Divine World is even more disgusting than the real world.’ Carmen thought to herself, feeling extremely disappointed with the experience.

She had thought the Divine World might be different, but the result was even worse.

Just when she was thinking about logging out and quitting forever, Carmen suddenly bumped into someone.

"Ouch," a serene voice echoed.

Alarmed, Carmen quickly apologized to the woman.

"I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bump into you." She bowed her head and quickly helped the woman pick up some books.

"No worries." The woman accepted her assistance and smiled. "Are you new here?"

"Uh, yes." Carmen nodded, completely unaware that the woman she was speaking to wasn’t a player.

"I see you’re being followed by a few people. Did you offend them somehow?"

The woman raised the question, her eyes shifted to the players from the Reaver Guild.

Carmen didn’t conceal much and revealed her predicament.

Sometime later, the woman harrumphed and held Carmen’s hand.

"These lawless people actually dare to target a fragile woman. They don’t deserve to be around here." She sneered and promptly dragged Carmen away to the library.

Needless to say, the players from the Reaver Guild also wanted to follow along, only to be impeded by the guards.

"No unauthorized entry!" The guards declared.

Naturally, the players wanted to argue, but quickly retreated in fear when the guards exuded their powerful aura.

"Ugh, forget it. The library only has one opening anyway. We can just camp outside!" One of the Reaver Guild members suggested. They were arrogant, alright. But they weren’t foolish enough to target an NPC this early on and ruin their foundation.

Still, they made sure to relay this incident back to their leader, Hundred Ghost.

While this was happening, inside the library, the woman introduced herself.

"I’m Griselda, a Librarian visiting this town for some materials." Griselda smiled sweetly. "What about your name?"

"I-I’m Carmen." Carmen introduced herself.

"Carmen?" Griselda raised an eyebrow slightly. "Is that your alias? Because the name I see is Lunar Wraith."

Upon hearing the name, Lunar Wraith, Carmen recalled rolling a random nickname as her in-game name.

"Ah, no, Carmen is my real name. Lunar Wraith is my alias." She clarified the misunderstandings. There was a lack of protection in her information.

Usually, players were supposed to withhold as much information from themselves as they could.

However, Carmen was the opposite. She was quite straightforward and honest in her demeanor.

’Interesting... maybe it’s fate that she bumped into me.’ Griselda mused inwardly. Initially, she was disappointed with the newcomers in the town and was about to make her next stop to search for an inheritor and successor.

Who could have imagined that fate would say otherwise?

"I’ll call you Lunar Wraith for now. Do you wish to inherit my legacy?" Griselda placed a book down and inquired softly.

"Your legacy?" Confused, Carmen didn’t understand what she meant.

"Mhmm, as long as you agree, I can send you away from this town. But you’ll have to undergo some trials to earn my approval."

’Send me away from this town?’ Carmen’s body jolted slightly.

Rather than being chased down by those despicable scums, she might as well agree to Griselda’s suggestion.

What was the worst that could happen?

"I agreed!" Carmen clenched her fist and said in a firm tone.

"Great, I’ll send you to Oakwood Town!" Griselda clasped her hands in satisfaction.
